Abstract

Background : Nutritional anemia among lactating mothers is the one of nutritionalproblem in Indonesia , indicated by the decreasing of hemoglobin level. Lactating mothers can get the nutritional anemia because of blood losses on partus. Objective : to discover hemoglobin level and anemia prevalence on lactating working mothers and lactating non working mothers. Method : this research design is analytical research with cross sectional approach. The research location is in "Kelurahan Ngemplak Simongan, Kecamatan Semarang Barat, Kota Semarong". All the samples are 86 lactating mothers, divided into two groups that are 49 (57,0 %) lactating working mothers and 37 (43,0 %) lactating non working mothers. The data collected by interview method that are respondent identity and the frequency of food consumption. Hemoglobin level analyze by Sianmethemoglobine method. Result : The amount of (95,9 %) lactating working mothers are industrial workers and 4,1 % are government workers. The average of hemoglobin level on lactating working mothers is 10,8 gr %, but on lactating non working mothers is 11,2 gr  %. Anemia prevalence among the lactating working mothers is 65,3 % but on lactating non working mothers is 37,8 %. Conclusion : There is a significant dffirence of the average hemoglobin level between the lactating working mothers and the lactating non working mothers (p value = 0,009). There is a significant difference of the anemia prevalence between the lactating working mothers and the lactating non working mothers (p value = 0,011). Abstract

Latar belakang: Lansia identik dengan adanya perubahan baik secara psikis maupun fisiologis, perubahan fisiologis akibat proses penuaan akan dialami oleh lansia yang diantaranya mengarah pada gangguan sistem kardiovaskuler, termasuk terjadinya hipertensi. Hipertensi ini terjadi karena salah satu akibat masalah yang sering muncul dari perubahan gaya hidup, seperti mengkonsumsi makanan yang tinggi garam, stress yang dialami, obesitas. Bagi laki-laki kebiasaan merokok, minum-minuman beralkohol akan memacu timbulnya hipertensi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengetahuan hipertensi dengan pola hidup sehat lansia di Unit Rehabilitasi Sosial Pucang Gading Semarang. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan metode pendekatan crossectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh lansia dengan riwayat hipertensi di Unit Rehabilitasi Sosial Pucang Gading Semarang dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode quota sampling selain yang digunakan sebagai responden dalam uji validitas, sehingga jumlah sampel sebanyak 62 orang. Variabel yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan tentang hipertensi dan pola hidup sehat pada lansia. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan analisis statistik Rank Spearman. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik diperoleh sebagian besar responden memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang tentang hipertensi sebanyak 41 orang (50,0%), pola hidup sehat lansia sebagian besar adalah kurang yaitu yaitu sebanyak 37 orang (45,1%). Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang hipertensi dengan pola hidup sehat pada lansia dengan riwayat hipertensi di Unit Rehabilitasi Sosial Pucang Gading Semarang dengan nilai koofesien korelasi0,545, dan nilai p-value 0,000 < ? (0,05). Saran: Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik tersebut maka diharapkan lansia dapat mencegah terjadinya hipertensi melalui pola hidup sehat antara lain mengurangi konsumsi garam dan menghindari kebiasaan merokok.Kata kunci: pengetahuan, lansia, hipertensi

Abstract

The old people experience physical, cognitif ability, and  psychological decline. Because of the changing or decline, the old people need support from their closest family. The old people physical changing causesinterference on their independence and from all the changing experienced by the old people especially the pshycological changing will influence the old selves concept. The objective of research is to find out the relationship between family’s support and the old people independence using the old people selves concept in Bambankerep sub district Ngaliyan district Semarang city. The type of research used is study corellation. Thepopulation of this research is the old people in Bambankerep sub district as many as 212 old people. Sample as many as 57 respondents using sample taking technique  by choosing the same characteristics with the old people population scope in Bambankerep Sub district. The old people average age is 67,56 years. 57 respondents have good family’s support as many as 51 old people (89,5%), the old people independence level which is classified as independence are 33 old people (57,9%), and the old people who have good selves concept are 55 old people (96,5%). There is relationship between family’s support and the old people selves concept and there isn’t relationship between the old people independence and the old people selves concept in Bambankerep sub district  Ngaliyan District Semarang city. Family gives support to the old people especially the instrumental support so that the old people have good selves concept.Key Words; Family’s support, the old people independence, the old people selves concept

Abstract

Rising and descending children under five number who suffered growth obstacle could seen soon within short time (month) and could further research immediately what caused of it, and made design in order to take the action to overcome it as soon as possible. Growth advancement barrier of children weight observe could seen within growth curve of periodicalmeasurement result recorded and provide within KMS. One of success Posyandu program especially includes baby number and children under five who have KMS were influenced by Posyandu cadre’s role. Knowledge and cadre skill not could increase only but also descending. This case could occur because cadre less active therefore forget about mattershave been learned therefore their knowledge were descending. The high of knowledge level and cadre skill were influence by formal education, cadre course, frequency to participating within program, being active of cadre within Posyandu and their length being the cadre. Aimof this research was to found the knowledge and length period of job relationship by cadre skill in order to valuated children under five growth curve on Posyandu. This research was analytical survey type by crossectional method. This research carried out at Posyandu of Tegalsari, Candisari Subdistrict, Semarang city, from January 2011 to July 2011 about 35 cadres of posyandu on Posyandu of Tegalsari, CandisariSubdistrict, Semarang about 35 cadres. All of population unit were investigated. Sample within this research was using nonprobability sampling it was collection technique of population member to elected to be the sample. This sample technique was saturated sampling it was sample determination technique when all of population member used as the sample. Research result showed that about 48,6% of knowledge level cadre were good, 37,1% have been length being posyandu cadre about 16-20 years, whereas skill cadre in valuated children under five growth curve about 25,7%. There were no relationship between time period of work being the cadre with cadre skill in valuated children under five growth curve (p-value = 0,959), but found presence relationship of cadre knowledge level with cadre skill in valuating children under five growth curve (p-value = 0,001). Cadre in carried out posyandu activities expected could change assignment therefore within Posyandu, cadre ability in weigh, record and giving information could carried out by all of cadres and expected for cadre to be able within all of that sectors.Keywords: Knowledge, Period of work, Skill, Children under five, Cadre, Posyandu

Abstract

Abstract. Fluctuations of blood glucose levels in people with diabetes is a major cause of developing complications fromhyperglycemia ability to form the free radicals. Hyperglycemia condition that causes glucose autooxidation, proteinglycation, and polyol pathway activation so as to accelerate the formation of reactive oxygen compounds, furtherincreasing the modification of proteins, lipids, and DNA in various tissues. Various studies have been done, but theyrarely take advantage of local foodstuffs as a functional food therapy. Raw foods contain a powerful antioxidant that is acombination of watercress and black rice bran. This study aimed to analyze the effect of functional food supplements tochanges in the lipid profile of experimental animals . The results showed that levels of total cholesterol and triglyceridelevels decreased significantly after being given the supplement. There is a significant increase in HDL levels inexperimental animals after supplementation for 4 weeks, however, supplementation is not significant effect on LDLlevels decrease.

Abstract

Indonesia still have nutritional problems that requires serious handling. Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) is part of a society which is the spearhead in the implementation of government programs especially those related to health issues. In this case, including nutrition problems in the handling of malnutrition. Health officials cooperating with the cadres Posyandu in supplementary additional meal/food and monitoring weight gain. The goal in this devotion is to increase the cadre's ability to manage the Posyandu, nutritional knowledge and creativity to made additional meal/food for toddler to achieve optimal health care in Posyandu. The method used is counseling, guidance, practice and competition between cadres that can increased ability as a volunteer in society service. The sample in this devotion is 37 cadres residing in the village Purwosari, Mijen district ,Semarang City. Results of this devotion showed increased abilities, knowledge and skills of cadres,. The results of pre-test and post-test all the training materials showed an increased level cadre's knowledge. While the increase in skill can be seen from variability of ten kinds of dishes snack menu creativity of the cadre's results.Keywords : Posyandu cadres, knowledge, skills

Abstract

Tempe is one of Indonesian food which commonly consumed by community and possible as an alternative food that can be fortified with iron and vitamin A. This fortification is an efforts to overcome nutritional anemia. On the other hands, iron addition raises concerns that fortification of iron in fortified tempe can cause oxidative effects. The purpose of this study is to determine the acceptability and levels of thiobarbituric acid (TBA) in iron- fortified tempe and tempe with additional iron+vitamin A. This study use a Completely Randomized Design with 5 experimental groups and 3 replications. The control group was tempe without fortification, while experimental groups 1, 2, 3, 4 were given iron (FeSO) 90 mg, 110 mg, 130 mg and 150 mg/kg of wet soybean. Tempe A is tempe which was given iron fortification, and tempe B was tempe which was given iron+ vitamin A fortification. The results of this study, the acceptability of fortified tempe showed that both tempe A and tempeB, in raw tempe in terms of aroma and color, iron fortified tempe levels of 110 mg and 130 mg were still favored by panelists. Likewise in cooked tempe, the taste, aroma and color that are still preferred are iron levelsof 110 mg and 130 mg. However, tempe with 150 mg of iron is not preferred by panelists. There were no significant differences about levels of thiobarbituric acid (TBA) in tempe without fortification compared to onlyiron-fortified tempe alone and iron+vitamin A-fortified tempe, with more increasing iron levels (90 mg, 110 mg, 130 mg and 150 mg) does not show an increase in TBA levels. The iron (FeSO4) contain with 130 mg/kg of wet soybean is recommended to use in making tempe fortification as an effort to overcome iron-deficiency anemia.
