Abstract

Citizenship education has an important role in shaping character and acts as a citizen's self-actualization, both individually and in groups according to their respective rights and obligations. In building the nation's character into a strong character, character education is needed, The existence of a nation is seen from the character of its citizens, the character of a strong citizen becomes a nation with dignity and of course respected by other nations. Therefore we need a character development process through character learning civic education, in order to create students who excel in all areas of life and become good leaders in the future.

Abstract

Humans can not be separated from learning. A person will definitely go through a period in life when he needs to study. The learning can be formal or informal. Elementary school is a place to learn and acquire knowledge at an early level which can be the foundation for students. The problem now is that many students are less enthusiastic about learning, get bored quickly to carry out learning. In this case the teacher must be able to increase students' interest in learning. The aim of this study is to analyze student learning motivation that develops through the teaching competence of teachers in the classroom. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out based on the results of the interviews. The results showed that the teaching skills of teachers had a partial positive effect on students' learning motivation. So that student learning motivation can be increased by improving the teaching skills of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Education is basically a conscious effort in developing the potential of students. Character education is an effort to shape the child's personality so that he becomes a good human being, a good citizen and a good country. So that it can anticipate the symptoms of the crisis that the country will face along with the times. Social studies education is a subject that examines social life whose material is based on studies of history, geography, economics, sociology, anthropology and state administration. Through social science learning, character education values ​​can be included by integrating the material in the social science learning.
