One intervention that can be done is consuming foods high in iron and vitamin C, namely date palm juice. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of giving date palm juice on the hemoglobin levels of TM III pregnant women. Quantitative research type, Quasi-experimental research design with a two group pretest-posttest design approach. The population was 77, the sample was 30, divided into 2 groups, 15 intervntion groups and 15 control groups using purposive sampling techniques and simple random sampling techniques. The object of the research was hemoglobin levels. The research subjects were pregnant women in the third trimester with anemia. The research was conducted in July-August 2024. Data collection used observation sheets, univariate and bivariate data analysis (Independent t-test). The results of the study showed that the average hemoglobin level before being given date juice and Fe (intervention group) was 10.2 gr/dl and after the intervention was 11.4 gr/dl. Meanwhile, the average hemoglobin level before being given Fe alone (control group) was 10.0 gr/dl and after it was 10.3 gr/dl. There was an effect of giving date palm juice on the hemoglobin levels of TM III pregnant women (p-value 0.000 < α = 0.05). Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women increases the risk of delivery complications, maternal mortality, and fetal health problems such as LBW, prematurity, and birth defects. The prevalence of CED in Lampung Province for ages 15-49 years was 5142 cases, with cases in South Lampung Regency totaling 746 cases or 14.5%, ranking third highest among 15 Regencies in Lampung Province. To improve the nutritional status of pregnant women with CED, Supplementary Food Provision (PMT) needs to be given to pregnant women. Red bean extract is rich in protein, iron, and fiber which helps improve the nutritional status of pregnant women with CED. This study aims to determine the effect of Supplementary Food (PMT) red bean extract on the body weight of pregnant women with CED. This is a quantitative research with pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 20 people was taken by Total sampling with the method of giving red bean extract 2x1 in the morning and afternoon for 14 days. This research was conducted in the working area of Way Urang Health Center. Data collection used observation sheets, and analysis used paired T-test. Based on the research results, the average body weight of pregnant women with CED before being given red bean extract was 48.62 kg and after being given red bean extract became 49.45 kg. Thus showing there is an effect of supplementary feeding of red bean extract on weight gain in pregnant women with CED in the working area of Way Urang Health Center, South Lampung Regency with p-value = 0.000. Pregnant women are expected to consume red bean extract regularly as a source of protein and iron to increase body weight and nutritional status of mothers with CED.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant public health problem in Indonesia, including in East Kalimantan. Purpouse: This study aims to identify factors that influence pregnant women's nutrition awareness in rural Samarinda and develop effective strategies to improve nutrition education to prevent stunting. Methods: The study used a qualitative and quantitative approach (mixed-methods) to obtain a comprehensive picture of the level of awareness and understanding of balanced nutrition among pregnant women. Qualitative in-depth interviews and observations were used to understand the social, cultural, and economic factors that contribute to the nutritional consumption patterns of pregnant women in rural South Indonesia. Results: The results showed that most pregnant women had moderate (45%) and low (30%) levels of nutritional awareness. Education level (60%) and family support (65%) had the highest influence on pregnant women, at 60% and 65%, respectively. Conclusion: The findings of the study suggest that nutrition interventions should not only be conducted from an educational aspect but also take into account social and cultural aspects to be more effective in improving pregnant woman's nutritional awareness and preventing stunting, especially through more intensive and community-based education.

Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, especially in developing countries. Various risk factors such as maternal age, parity, and obesity are thought to contribute to the incidence of gestational hypertension. Purpose: This study is a literature review study with an analytical approach. Methods: Data were obtained from 15 articles published between 2014–2020 and accessed through the PubMed, GARUDA, and Google Scholar databases. Inclusion criteria included publications discussing the relationship between age, parity, obesity, and gestational hypertension in full-text form. Results Most of the study results showed that pregnant women aged <20 years or >35 years had a higher risk of developing hypertension. Extreme parity (primiparity and multiparity ≥3) was also significantly associated with increased blood pressure during pregnancy. Obesity (BMI ≥27) was found to be a dominant risk factor, with a six-fold increase in the risk of hypertension. Implications: According to this study, antenatal care services should include screening for hypertension risk based on the age, parity, and nutritional condition of expectant mothers in order to more effectively and early prevent pregnancy problems. Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between age, parity, and obesity with the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy.
