Abstract

The connection between humans and nature has a significant influence on various aspects of life, including physical, mental and spiritual health. The eco-pastoral approach is a combination of ecological principles and spirituality which aims to support a comprehensive healing process by utilizing natural elements, especially natural sounds. In the context of the environmental crisis and increasing mental health disorders, this approach offers a way to utilize nature as a means of healing that strengthens humans' relationship with God and the natural surroundings. Natural sounds, such as flowing water, birdsong, and the breeze, have therapeutic effects, helping to relieve stress, promote calm, and support spiritual healing. This article examines the eco-pastoral approach, the relationship between humans, nature and the healing process, as well as the role of natural sounds in therapy. This approach emphasizes the importance of balance between humans and nature as part of ecological and spiritual responsibility. Keywords : Eco-Pastoral Approach; Nature Therapy; Sounds of Natur e

Abstract

Research analyzes the psychosocial impacts of natural disasters on the GMIM Maranatha Karame Congregation, explores the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) values in the psychosocial recovery of the congregation, and the church's contribution in providing support. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method involving semistructured interviews with special ministers and affected congregants, as well as analysis of relevant documents. The study results show that the disaster, although without fatalities, triggered significant psychosocial impacts. Material losses, decreased income, and disruption of daily activities caused widespread anxiety and discomfort among the congregation, indicating psychological pressure even without severe trauma or loss of loved ones. The church responded proactively with spiritual guidance through communal prayers, faith-strengthening worship, and individual spiritual counseling. Church leaders instilled core Christian values such as love, hope, and perseverance. This study concludes that community-based spiritual support integrated with Christian values is a vital pillar in building and facilitating holistic postdisaster recovery.

Abstract

Losing parents is one of the most difficult experiences a young person can face. This event not only causes sadness but also triggers various complex forms of trauma, including emotional, psychological, social, spiritual, and developmental trauma. The trauma arising from such loss can significantly impact the mental health, social relationships, beliefs, and life meaning of the affected youth. Therefore, a comprehensive and holistic approach to support is required, one that not only focuses on psychological aspects but also addresses spiritual and social dimensions. Pastoral counseling serves as a form of accompaniment that integrates emotional support and spiritual values in the process of trauma recovery. Through this approach, pastoral counselors not only listen to the complaints and pain experienced by the youth but also provide strengthening of faith and hope, helping them find new meaning in life. The pastoral counseling process involves several important steps, such as building an empathetic relationship, providing a safe space for sharing, instilling hope through spiritual values, and reinforcing community support. Thus, the process of healing from trauma due to grief or parental loss can be conducted comprehensively, covering emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects, enabling youth to live their lives with renewed resilience and enthusiasm.
