Abstract

Salah satu upaya mencari permasalahan para petani dan pedagang sayur dan buah adalah usia simpan sayur dan buah yang tidak bertahan lama. Selama ini para petani dan pedagang menyimpan sayur dan buah di dalam gudang atau diletakkan begitu saja sehingga cepat layu dan membusuk. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut solusinya adalah para petani dan pedagang buah dan sayur dapat menggunakan kulkas pot tanpa listrik dengan sistem pendinginan evaporative. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan dan memberi pengetahuan tambahan kepada mitra cara membuat kulkas pot tanpa listrik dari tanah liat. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan di Desa Suka Mulia Kecamatan Rantau Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang dan Mitranya adalah para petani dan pedagang buah sayur berjumlah 15 orang yang dibagi atas 5 kelompok masing-masing terdiri dari 3 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah cara penyuluhan partisipatif dan pelatihan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah masyarakat mendapat pengetahuan baru bahwa ada alternatif lain sistem penyimpan sayur dan buah yang dapat mempertahankan dan memperlama usia simpan. Masyarakat sudah mampu membuat kulkas pot tanpa listrik secara mandiri dan dapat diaplikasikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan masing-masing.

Abstract

Secara morfologi daerah Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya terdiri dari berbagai satuan morfologi seperti pegunungan, perbukitan, dataran dan lain lain. Sebagai daerah tangkapan air (cathcment Area), morfologi pegunungan merupakan daerah yang banyak terdapat sungai sungai yang mengalir pada suatu ketinggian /elevasi tertentu. Adanya perbedaan ketinggian dengan didukung oleh debit air yang besar, neraca air yang relative stabil dan didukung oleh data data lainnya pada suatu sungai, merupakan salah satu sumber energi baru dan terbarukan yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membangkitkan tenaga listrik. Tujuan kajian ini adalah mendapatkan karakteristik mendasar PLTMH yang meliputi:Investigasi lapangan dan kajian dasar: topografi, geologi, hidrologi dan kajian potensi daya dan analisis keuangan. Dua lokasi penelitian yaitu : Alur Batee Geulumbak Desa Mata Ie Kecamata Blangpidie dengan posisi berada pada titik koordinat 03045’.45,7”LU, . 96053’02,5’ BT. Dusun Lhok Batee Intan Desa Padang Kecamatan Manggeng dengan posisi berada ada titik koordinat: 03040’04,6” LU, 0960 59’11,6” BT. Hasil studi potensi air untuk Pembangkit Listrik Mikrohidro (PLTMH) di Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya diperoleh: Potensi energi air pada Lokasi Alue Batee Geulumbak dengan memanfaatkan aliran 0,4 m³/s, tinggi jatuh efektif 112 m, mampu menghasilkan daya 355 KW dan kapasitas energi dapat terjual 2,34 GWh/tahun. Potensi energi air pada Lokasi Desa Batee Intan dengan memanfaatkan aliran 0,5 m³/s, tinggi jatuh efektif 163 m, mampu menghasilkan daya 744 KW dan kapasitas dapat terjual 4,90 Gwh/tahun.

Abstract

Kota langsa memiliki luas 262,4 km2 dengan jumlah penduduk 157.011 jiwa. Penyediaan air bersih bagi penduduk Kota Langsa dilakukan oleh PDAM Tirta Keumuneng dengan jumlah air 3,1 juta m3/tahun, jumlah penduduk terlayani hanya 40%. Salah satu daerah yang belum terlayani adalah wilayah pesisi Kota Langsa yang berjarak ± 17 km dari sumber air bersih. Seiring dengan pertambahan penduduk dan berkurangnya sumber air mengakibatkan masyarakat wilayah pesisir sangat sulit memperoleh pelayanan air bersih dari PDAM Tirta Keumuneng. Salah satu cara untuk menyediakan sumber air bersih untuk wilayah tersebut adalah dengan memasang unit desalinasi air laut. Wilayah pesisir Kota Langsa memiliki potensi energi angin dan energi surya yang cukup baik yang ditunjukkanoleh kecepatan angina rata-rata tahunan berkisar 5-6,2 m/dtk, dan radiasi surya berkisar 3,6-4,5 kWh/m2/hari. Pada kajian ini telah dilakukan perancangan sistem pembangkit listrik dengan memanfatkan energi terbarukan untuk menggerakan unit desalinasi air laut. Hasil analisa diperoleh kebutuhan air untuk wiayah pesisir dengan 220 KK adalah sebesar 70 m3/hari. Hasil analisa kebutuhan energi spesifik sistem desalinasi menggunakan software ROSA 9.0 adalah sekitar 5,75 kWh/m3. Dan hasil analisa optimasi sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga hibrid (energi angina, surya, diesel) dengan software HOMER diperoleh kondisi optimal adalah pada porsi pembangkitan energi masing-masing, yaitu energi surya (PV) sebesar 13%, energi angin (turbin angin) sebesar 63% , dan generatordiesel sebesar 24%. Paper ini akan membahasan secara detail simulasi sistem desalinasi air laut, daya keluaran pembangkit listrik tenaga hibrik dan biaya energi.

Abstract

Drying equipment is a device commonly used to remove moisture from various materials, particularly food products, to extend their shelf life and usability. However, in multi-tier drying systems, a common issue is the non-uniform temperature distribution between levels. This problem arises due to the uneven distribution of hot gas from the fuel source, causing the temperature on racks closer to the heat source to be higher than those on upper levels. To address this issue, heat ducts and fins were added to each level. The fins serve to evenly distribute heat from the hot gas channels throughout the drying chamber. Due to the high costs associated with experimental testing, this study adopts a numerical approach. The numerical simulation is conducted using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) via SOLIDWORKS 2022 to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer within the dryer. The results indicate that the nine-level dryer remains operationally efficient, with the lowest temperature difference (∆T) recorded at 1.6°C when operating at 60°C.

Abstract

Water bikes can be used as one of the vehicles in water tourism areas such as Ulee Lheue. Water bikes are used as a medium for surface transportation and fishing. Of course, this can increase the enthusiasm of those who visit the tourist destination of Ulee Lheue on weekends and holidays. High enthusiasm can increase the number of tourists, which increases income and sustains the economy of people around Ulee Lheue. Personal watercraft are constructed using fibrous pins or floats, using propeller drives, and using bicycle frames, usually modified. The steering wheel has a plate at the front and is designed to control the direction of rotation (left and right). A good community economy is expected to deliver the goodness of the community itself. Therefore, watercraft manufacturing activities must be carried out in Ulee Lheue. The implementation of this activity takes place in his two phases of implementing the activity, including creating the water bike design and manufacturing the water bike frame. The existence of water bikes can be used as an alternative to water tourism like Ulee Lheue. Water bikes are used as a medium for surface transportation and fishing. Of course, this can increase the enthusiasm of the community to visit her Ulee Lheue, a tourist destination. In fact, this water he slide is a popular ride for visitors wanting to explore lakes, reservoirs, and artificial ponds.

Abstract

The partner in this program is a collaboration with the Mechanical Students Association (HMM) of all universities studying in the Mechanical Engineering study program which is currently completing its final project in Aceh. The partner's problem is the lack of ability to write scientific articles, and, not knowing how to submit scientific articles via OJS (Oper Journal System), and the solution offered is to provide an introduction to strategies for writing scientific articles and the OJS stages in the journal publishing process, provide training in creating author accounts at OJS, providing training on submitting scientific articles through OJS, outreach on how to write scientific articles, as well as training on writing scientific articles. The results of service activities are that partners can recognize OJS and the OJS stages in the journal publishing process, partners have author accounts and can submit scientific articles to OJS, partners can write scientific articles well and correctly. Monitoring and evaluation are also carried out for the sustainability of further activities to resolve partner problems.

Abstract

Shipbuilding is one of the marine industries which in development needs to pay attention to various parameters from the sea and land. This research was conducted in March to May 2022 with the aim of identifying the influence of oceanographic factors and water quality on the development of the shipbuilding industry at the fishing port of Sabang City. The oceanographic data used includes tides, wind, bathymetry, and sediment composition observed at 12 station points. The depth and tide data are then processed using QGIS. Wind data was analyzed using the Wind Rose Plot and sediment using the Wentworth scale. Oceanographic factors in Sabang Bay have shown very satisfactory results for the development of fish landing bases. The wind in the waters of Sabang Bay blows northwest with high speeds ranging from 10.00 m/s. The depth of the waters indicates a potential location for ship mooring. Sandy sediment is the most common type of sediment found. The tides that occur in the bay of Sabang are relatively stable. Oceanographic factors in Sabang Bay have shown very satisfactory results for the development of fish landing bases.Keywords:OceanographyShipyardSabang Bay

Abstract

Cooling towers are essential industrial heat exchangers that cool water by exposing it to air, promoting evaporation and subsequent temperature reduction. Despite extensive research on performance enhancement, the optimal design configuration remains uncertain. This study examines the impact of hole quantity and shape on the thermal performance of a multi-layered flat-plate cooling tower. Circular holes in three configurations—80, 120, and 185 holes—were tested at inlet temperatures of 65°C and 75°C. The cooling tower has a total height of 2.4 meters, with each plate measuring 0.7 × 0.5 meters and arranged at a 15° angle. Experimental results show that the highest heat transfer rate occurs at 75°C with 185 holes, while the largest heat transfer coefficient is achieved at 65°C with the same configuration. These findings emphasize the significant role of hole quantity and geometry in optimizing cooling tower performance. The results offer valuable insights for industrial applications, particularly in improving cooling efficiency in power plants and manufacturing processes.
