Abstract

The existence of dust in a building environment can cause many problems for those who continually exposed, especially for residential housing which is located near the industrial area. There are so many kinds of dust included PM10 in which it can make upper respiratory tract infection. So, it needs a treatment process for reducing the dust intensity, one of the ways is through exploring the surface. In this paper highlighted about literature review for knowing the element surfaces that related to the way for reducing dust. Therefore, in this stage is needed for searching the surface elements that can be used in the next design process. The result of this review is the selection of building shape can help in controlling dust spread such as in courtyard typology. After that, it should consider with tilt angle of the surface in order to dust cannot be trapped and the position of surface from the direction of wind. The surface should have a minimum opening regarding to standard so that the view should face to the area where is not exposed by dust and air exchange can use shaft ventilation or hidden gap in the wall for helping to air flow.

Abstract

The development of Gunung Sari Indah as a new neighborhood creates an impetus for increased housing and street food. Street food vendors set up shop on strategic roads to sell their products, causing crowds and traffic jams that disrupt the comfort. As a result, the focus of this research is on how to design street food in public spaces. This research uses the questioner, interview, and field survey methods. The questionnaire and interview are held to learn about the seller's aspirations for layout setting and facilities that they expect. A field survey is required to learn about the existing conditions, such as road width, seller position, and products offered. Furthermore, the issue of COVID-19 should be considered to avoid the virus spreading in public places. As a result, the layout setting should be aware of new normal health protocols such as physical distancing, handwashing, and environmental hygiene. The street food layout setting will be formed by a color box mural with an area of one car parking lot 2.5 m x 5 m for one seller, resulting in a gap. Then, the East Road, which closes in the evening, will be the focus of street food. Nonetheless, signage is required for traffic management in order to reduce traffic congestion and provide comfort to visitors to this area.

Abstract

Residential houses such as flats located near industrial areas are vulnerable to the threat of high-intensity dust, thereby, exposing the occupants to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) in the form of health problems, especially in the upper respiratory system. Therefore, this research was conducted to find appropriate design solutions to minimize dust from entering buildings through the application of geometric planes as a form of defense. It is also important to note that dust is closely related to the direction of the wind which is its conveying medium. This led to the determination of the right geometric shape to be applied as a dust barrier in the building facade. Moreover, this research was based on the force-based framework which proposes a form-refine-assembly stage consisting of several methods to determine the shape through simulation and evaluation associated with existing theories. The results were able to determine the position and shape of the facade area to serve as the barrier to the arrival of dust. The design is expected to be integrated into the shape and landscape layout of buildings to reduce dust in the site area.

Abstract

PPT Mentari only organizes coloring, drawing, singing, and dancing activities in RW VII. This is because PPT Mentari still lacks open space facilities serving as children's play areas. Even though open space promotes children's growth and development, sensory-motor, cognitive, and social abilities, as well as their self-confidence, creativity, and moral development, more open space is still required. With the agreement of the head of the RW, management of the PAUD aims to develop a playground for children to play and learn in outdoor surroundings. The parking arena is utilized by PAUD youths and locals who wish to utilize the advantages of the RW VII set. This activity was conducted from April to October 2022 with a method of implementation that included multiple stages, such as the preparation stage, which consisted of interviews and site surveys from April to June 2022, and the implementation stage, which consisted of painting walls, floors, and toys from July to August 2022. In August 2022, the third phase will culminate with the delivery of play space, bespoke spinning bowl toys, and a playground design guidebook. The reporting and documentation procedure will finish in September-October 2022 by calculating community service output. Eleven individuals are involved in this operation, including 6 from UPN Veteran Jawa Timur and 5 from Nippon Paint. Overall, these actions are proceeding smoothly. This dedication has produced a colorfully painted children's playground that offers children cognitive, emotional, psychomotor, and psychosocial stimulation. The anticipated outcome of this activity is that PPT Mentari children can utilize this open playground to promote their growth and development.

Abstract

Population growth, increased housing requirements, and a lack of available land in urban areas motivate developers to construct vertical housing. Vertical occupancy reduces social interaction between occupants, leading to the development of individualistic characteristics. This is due to the fact that the design does not encourage inhabitants to interact with one another. This research seeks to identify the design criteria necessary to construct a social structure in a vertical residence. This study's methodology consisted of three stages: data collection, analysis, and synthesis. Where quantitative and qualitative data are collected using a combined research methodology. Retrieve quantitative data through questionnaires to ascertain the social interaction habits of vertical occupancy users. While qualitative methods, such as literature and precedent studies, such as Home Farm Singapore and The Rosebay Surabaya, are used to identify existing issues. The analysis phase consists of descriptive statistics to interpret the questionnaire results, as well as a description of the analysis based on the research variables used, such as accessibility, users, individuality, adaptability, and others. The results of the synthesis phase will be design criteria that can enhance the social value of vertical housing
