Abstract

Abstract

Several cities in the Indonesian region are tropical areas that have a fairly high level of lightning insecurity, one of which is the Jayapura city. Demographic conditions make up to the occurrence of lightning strikes and fall into the category of regions that have a fairly high level of lightning insecurity. One of the causes of frequent interference in high-voltage systems comes from lightning. For this reason, it is necessary to optimize the interference that may occur by setting the distance between the lightning arrester and the transformer so as to minimize the level of interference that can occur due to lightning. Lightning arrester is one of the protection tools used to protect equipment against short circuit and lightning. From the results and analysis that has been done obtained results with a distance of 4.11 m and 4.40m which has an impulse voltage value due to surja that arrives at its transformer at skyline substation of 114.22 kV and 114.80 kV.  While the optimal distance from the placement of the lightning arrester with the transformer is at a distance of 0.58m at that distance obtained a large value of impulse voltage due to surja that arrives at the transformer of 107.16 kV. The value of impulse voltage due to surja is smaller when compared to the value of impulse voltage due to surja obtained from the lightning arrester separated from the transformer. So that in this study it can be concluded that a good lightning arrester placement is required to be as close as possible to the equipment it protects in order to neutralize the disturbances that can occur.

Abstract

Photovoltaic systems or solar power plants convert electromagnetic energy from sunlight into electrical energy. This renewable energy based power plant is one of the recommended solutions for electricity in remote rural areas where sunlight is abundant and fuel is difficult to obtain and relatively expensive. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued Ministerial Regulation regarding the use of the Roof Solar Power Plant system by consumers of the Indonesian Electricity Company (PLN). It is hoped that with this regulation the solar panel business and industry can flourish. The method we use in this Community Service is the observation method. By making observations in the field accompanied by interviews with the surrounding population becomes our primary data source in determining the needs of the problems that occur. In Cilatak Village we found minimal of street lighting, and limited electricity supply, for this reason we strongly support programs for new and renewable energy for remote areas that are difficult to get electricity supply. Based on this, we created the Development of Public Street Lights with Solar Electricity in Cilatak Village, Ciomas District, Serang District, Banten, so that the problems of public road lighting can be overcome, and we educated the utilization and maintenance.

Abstract

The problem in the tropics is the effect of temperature changes on the high voltage system, resulting in isolation around the electricity distribution in the 20 kV cubicle, which can trigger the insulation failure (breakdown voltages) on a feeder. To reduce the occurrence of power outages due to insulation failure with changing temperatures, direct testing is carried out by providing temperature variations ranging from 30oC to 90oC. To correctly understand the phenomenon, testing should be carried out. The test is carried out every 5 oC temperature increase. Based on the research results, a graph is obtained that explains the decrease in the breakdown value at 50oC, which causes the insulation breakdown voltage to be 27kV, and the decrease in the breakdown voltage at 90oC, which causes the insulation breakdown voltage to decrease to 22kV. Based on experiments, it can be concluded that the greater the temperature rise, The breakdown voltage appears more quickly. Thereafter, the data from the research results were tested using the linear regression analysis method, so that a MAPE obtained 3.89% and an RMSE obtained 1.33 were obtained with an average percentage obtained 0.37%.

Abstract

Bioethanol is a promising renewable energy source, and microalgae such as Chlorella vulgaris and Spirulina platensis offer high productivity potential. This work applies a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to optimize key environmental parameters—pH, light intensity, and temperature—within a simulation framework over a 100-day cultivation period. GA optimization resulted in a 25% increase in total ethanol yield, from baseline values of 51.00 to 63.66 g/L for Chlorella and 32.64 to 40.79 g/L for Spirulina. We benchmarked GA against Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Differential Evolution (DE), and Simulated Annealing (SA); GA consistently delivered superior convergence and final yields. The model incorporates phase‑dependent carbohydrate accumulation and realistic environmental disturbances, though biological complexities such as photoinhibition and nutrient limitations are acknowledged as future work. To enable meaningful convergence, the growth model was extended with mild photoinhibition and nutrient limitation terms, ensuring a more realistic fitness landscape. Findings support the viability of metaheuristic optimization in microalgae biofuel systems and indicate potential for intelligent control integration in photobioreactor operations.
