Abstract

Daun kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) merupakan tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternative pengobatan kanker. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui aktivitas sitotoksik ekstrak etanol daun kersen, fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air ekstrak daun kersen terhadap sel T47D dan mengetahui pengaruh ekspresi protein p53 dan Bcl-2 pada pemberian fraksi aktif daun kersen. Daun kersen diekstrak dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Ekstrak etanol kemudian difraksinasi dengan partisi cair-cair. Uji sitotoksik dilakukan pada sel kanker payudara T47D dan sel vero dengan metode MTT assay dan dibaca absorbansinya menggunakan ELISA reader. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekspresi protein p53 dan Bcl-2 dilakukan uji imunositokimia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa fraksi n-heksan daun kersen memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik potensial terhadap sel kanker payudara T47D, sedangkan pada ekstrak, fraksi etil asetat, dan fraksi air memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik moderat. Fraksi n-heksan daun kersen mampu meningkatkan ekspresi protein p53 dan Bcl-2 pada konsentrasi 6,79 - 27,16 µg/mL.

Abstract

Dragon fruit skin contains compounds that can be useful as antioxidants such as betalain and anthocyanin. The amount of high antioxidant content of red dragon fruit skin is able to slow, delay, or prevent the occurrence of free radical reaction processes that make humans experience premature aging. Face mist temasuk in cosmetic skin freshener that serves to refresh the facial skin, remove the remaining oil from the skin that may still exist, as well as deinfekta mild and at the same time can help cover the pores back. This study was conducted to develop red dragon fruit skin extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) Face mist preparation as an antioxidant with a variant concentration of red dragon fruit skin extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus).Red dragon fruit skin extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) using maceration extraction process, then extract with concentration variants 1%, 2%, 3% prepared face mist. Vitamin C as positive control and base face Mist as negative control. After obtained comparison of data processed statistically with one-way ANOVA using SPSS 22.Face mist preparation red dragon fruit skin extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has antioxidant activity.3% concentration of face mist preparation red dragon fruit skin extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus) contains the highest antioxidant.

Abstract

Body scrub is a liquid or semi-solid dosage form in the form of an emulsion to remove dead skin cell dirt and provide skin moisture. Bay leaves (Syzygium polyantum) are also used as medicine. It is found that bay leaf extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Bay leaves contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. This research carried out the formulation and antioxidant activity test of 70% ethanol extract of bay leaves with concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. Body Scrub was tested for antioxidants with vitamin C as a comparison. The goal this research was to find out that a body scrub with 70% ethanol extract of S. polyantum could make the skin soft and moist and improved the skin. This research was conducted experimentally. Tests in this research include organoleptic tests, pH, viscosity, homogeneity, spreadability, stickiness, and antioxidant activity tests. Bay leaf extract with concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of bay leaves according to the IC50 value showed that formula 3 has an IC50 value ranging between 177.338 ± 45.14 ppm and had a weak category value, while formula 1 and formula 2 respectively had an IC50 value of 550.25 ± 169.24 ppm; 362.07±122.08 ppm in the very weak category. The conclusion was the highest body scrub preparation formula for 70% ethanol extract of bay leaves was Formula III with a concentration of 20% with an IC50 value of 177.338 ± 45.14 ppm (weak category).

Abstract

Medinilla speciosa contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins and alkaloids which have activity as anti-biofilm, antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic and play a role in tissue regeneration in the wound healing process. This study aimed to prove the activity of M. speciosa fruit made in ointment and its optimal concentration in healing second degree burns. This research was an experimental study in the laboratory to analyze the secondary metabolite content of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, alkaloids, and the burn wound healing activity of M. speciosa ethanol. This research used 3 rabbits as test animals and created 5 standardized wound locations on the rabbits' backs. Wound standardization was carried out using a heated 2 cm diameter metal plate. At 5 wound locations, each was given a test ointment preparation with a concentration of 0.075%, 0.15%, 0.30%, ointment base (negative control), and mebo ointment (positive control) for 10 days with the parameter measured being the diameter of the wound. The physical properties of the ointment include organoleptic tests, homogeneity, viscosity, spreadability and adhesiveness. The data obtained was analyzed statistically using analysis of variance. The result of this research were the all concentrations of M. speciosa fruit ethanol extract ointment showed a burn healing effect. The best wound healing based on statistical data results was shown by M. speciosa fruit extract ointment with a concentration of 0.30% with an average percentage of wound diameter closure that was the same as the positive control, namely 100% on day 10.

Abstract

Avocado seeds contain secondary metabolite compounds in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids and steroids. The mechanism of flavonoids in inhibiting the inflammatory process in burns is through various methods, namely inhibiting capillary permeability, inhibiting the release of serotonin and histamine to the site of inflammation. In this study, avocado seed extract was obtained by maceration method and formulated into a gel preparation with a concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%. The gel base was used as a negative control, and the gel containing 10% placenta extract and 0.5% neomycin sulfate was used as a positive control, applied to burn wounds on the backs of New Zealand rabbits with a diameter of 2 cm. The activity test of avocado seed extract gel was conducted on 3 rabbits, with each formulation applied 3 times, and the wound diameter was measured daily. This test was conducted for ten days. Avocado seeds (Persea americana Mill.) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and titerpenoids. The results of observations of the healing and drying process of burns, avocado seed extract gel (Persea americana Mill.) on the 10th day were F1 (5%) wound diameter 0.2 cm, F2 (10%) wound diameter 0.1 cm, F3 (15%) wound diameter 0 cm. Avocado seed extract gel (Persea americana Mill.) with a concentration of 15% can provide the best effect on healing burns.

Abstract

Jerawat (acne vulgaris) merupakan salah satu masalah kulit yang paling umum, terutama pada remaja, yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Penggunaan antibiotik konvensional untuk mengatasi jerawat dapat menimbulkan resistensi dan efek samping. Pegagan (Centella asiatica) telah dikenal sebagai tanaman obat tradisional dengan aktivitas antibakteri, anti-inflamasi, dan penyembuhan luka. Tujuan dari literature review ini adalah untuk menganalisis berbagai penelitian mengenai efektivitas sediaan topikal ekstrak pegagan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Propionibacterium acnes. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dari jurnal nasional terakreditasi dan internasional tahun 2021-2025. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak pegagan dalam berbagai sediaan topikal (gel, krim, sabun, patch) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang signifikan terhadap P. acnes dengan zona hambat yang bervariasi tergantung konsentrasi dan bentuk sediaan.

Abstract

Pembangun kesehatan masyarakat diperlukan upaya dalam bidang Kesehatan secara partisipatif, maka dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat secara kolaboratif berupa penyuluhan kesehatan dan pemeriksaan gigi-mulut untuk anak-anak telah dilaksanakan di Purwodadi, Kabupaten Grobogan, bekerja sama dengan Persatuan Ahli Farmasi Indonesia (PAFI) dan Persatuan Terapis Gigi dan Mulut Indonesia (PTGMI). Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran anak-anak serta orang tua mengenai pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut sejak usia dini, sekaligus memberikan layanan pemeriksaan gigi gratis dan edukasi preventif, teknik menyikat gigi yang benar, serta pentingnya pemeriksaan gigi rutin. Metode yang digunakan Adalah penyuluhan secara edukatif ke anak-anak secara menyenangkan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 107 peserta dari berbagai profesi kesehatan dan masyarakat umum, berlangsung lancar, tertib, serta mendapat respon positif. Melalui kolaborasi lintas profesi, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan sebagai upaya promotif dan preventif untuk meningkatkan kesehatan gigi dan mulut masyarakat Purwodadi

Abstract

Skin is an organ that protects humans from external influences. Damage to the skin can interfere with human health and appearance. One of the most feared things is premature aging, the main cause of skin aging and malignant melanoma is the entry of ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. One of the plants, namely starfruit leaves, has antioxidant content that can change or reduce free radicals and also as an anti-free radical such as flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and tannins. Cream can be used by applying it to the skin of the face to prevent anti aging. Objective: To determine the activity of anti-aging cream of 70% ethanol extract of starfruit leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) on the back skin of New Zealand rabbits exposed to UV-A light. Methodology: Extract starfruit leaves using the maceration method with 70% solvent and make a cream preparation to test anti-aging activity with concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7%. Results: Formulation 3 with a concentration of 7 % of starfruit leaf extract cream can provide optimal effects as an anti-aging agent when exposed to UV-A rays, seen from the average value which is almost the same as the positive control.
