Abstract

Kuala Geulumpang village is one of the villages in Julok subdistrict where most of the community is a business group that processes fish into cracker or known as pakang fish. One of the problems experienced by the business group is the drying process, especially in the rainy season which result decrease in the color quality and taste of pakang fish products. This service program aims to provide a solution for drying media that is not depend by weather conditions, namely a home dried system using an integrated solar panel media based on solar energy through solar cell and current batteries storage. This method has advantages compared with conventional methods are that are not affected by the weather, faster the drying process, minimizes fish damage caused by decaying so that the quality of the product is maintained and can be accepted by consumers on time. Through the application of fish dryer technology is expected to increase the production and quality of pakang fish produced by the community of Kuala Geulumpang Village so that it can improve the community's economy.

Abstract

Hydrogen is a renewable energy source that can be used as a fuel and as an  alternative to fossil fuels. Solid  storage media in solid form are safer to use than liquid (-253 oC) or gaseous media (700 bar) media. To store hydrogen in a solid medium, it requires a metal able to  interact with hydrogen . Magnesium is one of the metals which  can form metal hybrids based on MgH2 which is capable of  absorbing hydrogen up to  (7.6wt%). However, the reaction kinetics for  magnesium are  very slow, it takes at least 60 minutes to absorb hydrogen and the operating temperature is always  very high (300 oC). Several attempts have been made to add the catalytic converter  and milling time. Hydrogen storage material based on MgH2 with a 10wt%Ni catalyst was  successfully synthesized using a mechanical alloy technique with time variations of 2 hours, 5 hours, and 10 hours. From the results of the X-ray diffraction schema  at a diffraction angle of 2θ=37.87o, it shows the presence of a MgH2 phase, Ni phase is at a diffraction angle of 61.85o, the diffraction peak also shows that there was a  widening of the diffraction peak with increasing milling time, this explains that there was  a reduction in the size of the crystal. When  calculating  with the Schereer method, the crystal size of the material reaches 10 nm. The results of the DSC test indicated  a decrease in temperature of 383 oC in 41 minutes with a milling time of 10 hours.

Abstract

Implementation of portable biogas digester as domestic gas-based cattle waste has been done. Biogas contributes to reducing negative externalities associated with organic waste such as groundwater and soil pollution and emissions of local air pollutants. In addition, biogas is a renewable energy source. Alue Ie Puteh is a village located in Manyak Payed District, Aceh Tamiang Regency has an area of ± 650 hectares. Produced through anaerobic digestion of biodegradable organic raw materials, one of which is animal residues that produce high methane gas content (40-70%). The area of plantations and rice fields of the village is very wide, so that the average community farms and raises cattle. Cage waste in the form of cow dung in the village has not been maximally utilized and just piled up. The lecture method was carried out by providing information to the public about the benefits of portable biogas digester as an alternative gas product and organic fertilizer. Practice method is done by providing information to the public how to manufacture portable biogas digester, cheap and safe. The results obtained that the community was very enthusiastic in participating in the implementation of a portable biogas digester made from cattle cage waste so that the activity went smoothly, thus increasing the insights and skills of the community. In addition to this, increasing the economy of the community in a fuel crisis by utilizing alternative gas to reduce the need for LPG for households. Biogas digester side products such as organic fertilizer that can be used for agriculture. The methane gas generated in the portable biogas digester with a capacity of 200 L in 20 days can boil water.

Abstract

Penurunan muka tanah merupakan bencana geologi berupa turunnya permukaan tanah yang terjadi secara alami. Salah satu penyebab penurunan muka tanah diakibatkan oleh kegiatan eksploitasi air tanah. Di Gampong Lengkong setiap harinya aktivitas pengeboran air tanah dilakukan untuk didistribusikan ke sebagian besar masyarakat kota Langsa. Kegiatan pengeboran air tersebut dapat memicu berkurangnya potensi air tanah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi potensi air tanah sebagai upaya awal memantau kondisi bawah permukaan agar penurunan tanah akibat kekosongan akuifer dapat dicegah. Pendugaan potensi air tanah tersebut, dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Self-Potential. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa selama dua bulan pengukuran terlihat perbedaan nilai potensial yang terukur di ketiga lintasan. Interpretasi data dilakukan dengan menganalisa peta kontur isopotensial yang memberikan informasi bahwa nilai potensial dibulan kedua menjadi lebih kecil dari bulan pertama pengukuraan. Perubahan nilai potensial ini diduga akibat dari perubahan potensi air tanah. Berubahnya potensi air tanah mengarah kepada pengurangan jumlah air tanah. Pengurangan air ini disebabkan oleh adanya aktivitas pengambilan air tanah yang berlebihan setiap harinya, sehingga dapat diyakini mengakibatkan berkurangnya jumlah air tanah pada lapisan akuifer. Jika jumlah air tanah dalam akuifer terus berkurang maka daya dukung tanah menjadi semakin melemah dan potensi bencana penurunan muka tanah akan semakin cepat terjadi.

Abstract

Desa Sriwijaya merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Kota Kualasimpang Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Desa ini termasuk salah satu desa yang terdampak banjir, sehingga saat banjir melanda, resiko penularan dan serangan penyakit tertentu pun menjadi meningkat. Penyakit yang biasa muncul saat terjadi banjir adalah demam berdarah yang disebabkan oleh nyamuk aedes aegypti. Banyak langkah-langkah yang bisa dilakukan dalam pencegahan penyakit DBD yaitu dengan melakukan 3M (Menguras, Menutup dan Mengubur). Selain itu penggunaan obat nyamuk sintetis juga dapat dilakukan dalam pencegahan DBD yang dapat ditemukan di pasaran antara lain obat nyamuk bakar, elektrik, spray dan lotion. Namun penggunaan obat nyamuk ini mengandung bahan-bahan kimia yang sangat berbahaya seperti diklorvos dan DEET . Oleh karena itu penggunaan bahan-bahan alami dapat menggantikan  penggunaan obat anti nyamuk sintetis yang tidak berbahaya sekaligus ramah lingkungan adalah dengan menggunakan tanaman daun serai (Cymbopogon nardus). Pada tanaman daun serai mengandung zat-zat seperti senyawa geraniol dan sitronela, dimana senyawa tersebut merupakan kandungan yang terdapat pada obat nyamuk semprot. Terdapat tiga tahapan  metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan yang bertujuan untuk memonitoring dan mengevaluasi terhadap perkembangan hasil kegiatan untuk keberlanjutan program PKM di desa tersebut. Hasil kegiatan PKM ini adalah mitra sasaran yang memiliki keterampilan dan kreativitas dalam membuat obat anti nyamuk sendiri. Melalui kegiatan edukasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan serta meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang cara membuat obat anti nyamuk dari bahan-bahan alami
