Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2 is one of metabolism problems caused by resistance or deficiency of insulin with common symptoms of hiperglycemia where the value of Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) concentrate higher than 125 mg/dL. Physical exercise and PMR is recommended effort for DM  patient to reduce FBS concentrate. This research is conducted to know difference of effectiveness between physical exercise with PMR to reduction of FBS concentrate of DM type 2 patient in area of work Suraneggala Primary Health Center Cirebon Regency. This research used pra experiment with approach was one group pretest posttest design. Samples in research is 30 respondents selected used purposive sampling (15 respondents were given treatment of physical exercise, DM gymnastics 3 times per week for four month and 15 respondents were given treatment of PMR 2 times per day in the morning and afternoon for six days respectively). One session of exercise lasted 30 minutes. The  result of this research showed effectiveness between physical exercise effective with PMR to reduction of FBS concentrate is not difference, which suggest independent t test the value of p=0,927 (p>0,05). Physical exercise and PMR has same influence to reduce of FBS concentrate, the value of p=0,000. Means of FBS concentrate after physical exercise decreased from 171,93 to 121,73 mg/dL, means of FBS concentrate after PMR also decreased from 204,04 to 155,47 mg/dL. The conclusion of this research showed effectiveness between physical exercise with PMR to reduction of FBS concentrate in Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 patient is not difference.

Abstract

Elevated  cholesterol  level is one of  the risks  for cardiovascular disease  in diabetes mellitus. Exercise is one of therapy in patients with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of exercise on decrease cholesterol levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This study used pre-post test one group design. Twenty-two patients with diabetes mellitus followed the intervention which is a twice a week exercise for 4 weeks. Cholesterol levels were measured before and after exercise. Data were analyzed by  dependent T-test. Cholesterol  levels in patients with  diabetes  mellitus before  the exercise reached 261.18±49.013 mg/dL and after intervention decreased to 224.41±26 mg/dL. Dependent t-test showed differences in cholesterol levels before and after exercise in patients with diabetes mellitus (p<0.05). Exercise can lower cholesterol levels in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a state of chronic hyperglycemia which causes various complications. Traditionally, The Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsley) A Gray leaf has long been used for the treatment of diabetes. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the T. diversifolia leaf on blood glucose, polyphagia, and weight loss in a diabetic rat model. Rats were made diabetic with intraperitonial injection of Nicotinamide and Streptozotocin and divided into 5 groups. Group 1 were healthy rats, group 2 were diabetic rats, while groups 3, 4, and 5 were diabetic rats treated with 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg body weight of 70% ethanol extract of Tithonia diversifolia leaf respectively for 28 days. Blood was taken after treatment for measuring glucose. The ethanol extract of T. diversifolia leaf decreased blood glucose in diabetic rats (P<0.05). The ethanol extract of T. diversifolia leaf significantly suppresses polyphagia and improves diabetic rat weight (P <0.05). In conclusion, Tithonia diversifolia ethanolic extract has anti-hyperglycemic effect and ameliorated the effect of diabetes mellitus symptoms, namely polyphagia and weight loss.

Abstract

Background: One indication of microvascular dysfunction in diabetes mellitus (DM) is decreased nitric oxide (NO) levels. Tithonia diversifolia leaves (TDL) extract has been scientifically demonstrated to decrease glucose levels in diabetic rats.Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of TDL extract on NO levels in diabetic rats.Methods: True experimental with pre-post test control group design used 25 Sprague-Dawley rats. Its were divided into 5 groups: healthy control (K.1); diabetic control (K.2); diabetes rats with ethanol extract of TDL at a dose of 25 (K.3); 50 (K.4); and 100 mg/kg BW (K.5) for 28 days. We use a combination of nicotinamide (230 mg/kg BW) and streptozotocin (65 mg/kg BW) to induce diabetes mellitus. The blood serum was taken before and after extract administration. NO level was assessed using spectrophotometry. Paired T-test, Wilcoxon, one-way ANOVA, and post hoc LSD were performed for statistical analysis.Results: There were significant differences in NO levels before and after treatment in all groups unless K.5 (100 mg/kg BW). Furthermore, there was no significant difference in NO levels in the healthy control and the K.5 group but significant differences in other groups.Conclusion: TDL extract can prevent the decrease in NO level in diabetic rats model with the effective dose of 100 mg/kg BW.

Abstract

Abstrak: Peran Nitrit Oksida Terhadap Tekanan Darah. Hipertensi merupakan faktor risiko paling penting yang dapat dimodifikasi untuk semua penyebab morbiditas dan mortalitas di seluruh dunia yang dikaitkan dengan peningkatan risiko penyakit kardiovaskular seperti penyakit jantung koroner, gagal jantung, stroke, infark miokard, fibrilasi atrium dan penyakit arteri perifer. Tekanan darah dan prevalensi pasien hipertensi meningkat seiring bertambahnya usia. Pemeliharaan tekanan darah secara fisiologis melibatkan interaksi kompleks dari berbagai elemen sistem neurohumoral terintegrasi yang mencakup Renin–Angiotensin–Aldosterone System (RAAS), peran peptida natriuretik, endotelium, Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) dan sistem kekebalan tubuh. Nitrit oksida merupakan salah satu molekul pensinyalan penting dalam mempertahankan homeostatis vaskular. Penurunan bioavailabilitas NO adalah faktor utama yang menghubungkan stres oksidatif dengan disfungsi endotel dan hipertensi.

Abstract

Abstrak: Olahraga dan Interleukin-6. Otot rangka tidak hanya berperan dalam pergerakan, tetapi juga dikenal sebagai organ sekretori yang dapat menghasilkan banyak sitokin. Hal ini menjadi konsep dasar bagaimana otot rangka dapat berkomunikasi dengan organ lain seperti jaringan lemak, hati, dan pancreas, tulang, dan otak. IL-6 merupakan salah satu sitokin yang berperan penting dalam regulasi metabolism tubuh. IL-6 yang dihasilkan pada saat olahraga memiliki efek antiinflamasi. Oleh karena itu IL-6 menjadi salah satu mekanisme bagaimana olahraga dapat mencegah berbagai penyakit.

Abstract

Proses handover pasien dari ruang operasi ke unit perawatan intensif merupakan tahap krusial yang berperan penting dalam menjamin keselamatan pasien pascaoperasi. Komunikasi yang tidak efektif selama handover dapat menyebabkan kesalahan medis dan komplikasi hingga meningkatkan risiko mortalitas. Studi ini bertujuan mengevaluasi berbagai intervensi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas handover pasien pascaoperasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan meninjau artikel peer-reviewed yang dipublikasikan selama periode 2014–2024. Sumber data penelitian ini diperoleh dari pencarian di berbagai database elektronik seperti PubMed, Cochrane Library, dan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci, yaitu “handover pasien pascaoperasi”, “handover ruang operasi”, “handover ruang ICU”, dan handover+keselamatan pasien. Dari 171 artikel yang ditemukan, 9 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan checklist dan protokol standar handover mampu meningkatkan kelengkapan informasi yang disampaikan selama handover, menurunkan tingkat kesalahan medis yang berdampak pada peningkatan patient safety, serta meningkatkan kepuasan tim medis. Simpulan studi ini, yaitu implementasi protokol standar handover dan checklist yang dilakukan oleh lintas profesi dapat meningkatkan keselamatan pasien dengan mengurangi kesalahan medis melalui kelengkapan informasi yang disampaikan. Optimizing Post-Operative Patient Handover as an Effort to Improve Patient SafetyAbstractThe patient handover process from the operating room to the intensive care unit is a crucial stage that is important in ensuring post-operative patient safety. Ineffective communication during handover can lead to medical errors, complications, and increased mortality risk. This study aims to evaluate interventions that effectively improve the quality of post-operative patient handover. This study used the literature review method by reviewing peer-reviewed articles published from 2014–2024. Data sources for this study were obtained from searches in various electronic databases such as PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar using the keywords "post-operative patient handover,"; "operating room handover,"; "ICU room handover," and handover+patient safety. Of the 171 articles found, nine articles met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that using checklists and standardized handover protocols can improve the completeness of information conveyed during handover, reduce the rate of medical errors that impact improving patient safety, and increase medical team satisfaction. This study concludes that implementing standardized handover protocols and checklists by inter-professionals can improve patient safety by reducing medical errors through the completeness of information conveyed.

Abstract

Abstrak Mahasiswa sering menghadapi tantangan dalam mengatur tugas akademik, mengunggah materi, dan memantau kemajuan tugas akhir secara efektif, yang dapat menyebabkan keterlambatan penyelesaian tugas dan berkurangnya produktivitas. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan . Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah pada fitur-fitur pengelolaan tugas, pengunggahan materi, serta pemantauan progres tugas akhir. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengembangan perangkat lunak berbasis web waterfall dengan menggunakan PHP dan MySQL sebagai basis data. Pengujian sistem dilakukan menggunakan metode black-box untuk memastikan fungsionalitas setiap fitur yang telah dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini berhasil mempermudah mahasiswa dalam mengatur dan melacak tugas akademik mereka, serta memantau kemajuan tugas akhir. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan sistem informasi berbasis web ini memberikan manfaat yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas pengelolaan tugas akademik di kalangan mahasiswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan sistem manajemen akademik di perguruan tinggi. Kata Kunci: Sistem informasi; To-Do List; Mahasiswa   Abstract Students often face challenges in effectively organizing academic tasks, uploading materials, and monitoring the progress of final assignments, which can lead to delays in task completion and reduced productivity. To overcome these problems, this research aims to design and develop a web-based information system that functions as a To-Do List, which aims to assist students in organizing their academic tasks and schedules. The focus of this research is on the features of managing assignments, uploading materials, and monitoring the progress of the final project. The method used in this research is waterfall web-based software development using PHP and MySQL as the database. System testing is done using the black-box method to ensure the functionality of each feature that has been developed. The results showed that this system succeeded in making it easier for students to organize and track their academic assignments, as well as monitor the progress of the final project. This research concludes that the implementation of this web-based information system provides significant benefits in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of academic task management among students. The implication of this research is that it contributes to the development of academic management systems in higher education. Keyword: Information system; To-Do List; Students
