Abstract

Kegiatan PKM dilatarbelakangi oleh usaha ternak kambing yang mengalami kekurangan pakan hijauan dan kesulitan peternak untuk meningkatkan produksinya. Hal ini berdampak pada produksi dan reproduksi ternak kambing yang rendah. Sementara itu, perkebunan Amal Tani menghasilkan limbah berupa pelepah daun kelapa sawit. Limbah ini cukup berlimpah sepanjang tahun dan belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Potensi ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan pakan komplit dengan memanfaatkan pelepah sebagai sumber serat sehingga dapat menjadi pakan alternatif pengganti pakan hijauan. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah menjalin kerjasama Tim Pelaksana dan LPM UNIMED, penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada kelompok mitra. Dalam kegiatan ini Tim pelaksana telah mensosialisasikan tentang program Pengabdian, tujuan kegiatan, target dan luaran yang akan dicapai, dan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mitra telah dijelaskan tentang pemanfaatan limbah pelepah sawit menjadi pakan ternak kambing/sapi. Melalui teknologi pakan ternak silase dari limbah pelepah daun kelapa sawit di Desa Perkebunan Amal Tani diharapkan masyarakat tidak lagi tergantung pada pakan hijauan alami dalam pemenuhan konsumsi pakan ternak.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students in developing critical thinking skills and problem solving and the lack of student motivation to develop science and link chemistry with other science. This research is a quantitative research. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of STEM-based modules on learning outcomes and student motivation. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The data collection method used was a multiple choice test to measure learning outcomes and a questionnaire to analyze learning motivation. The results showed that the use of STEM-based modules had an effect on student learning outcomes and learning motivation in selected subjects.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.) dilakukan dalam rangka mendukung gerakan madrasah sehat di MTsN 3 Medan melalui program perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). PHBS dianggap mampu menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang sehat. Salah satu cara menjaga kebersihan yang paling dasar adalah menjaga kebersihan tangan yang banyak menjadi akses penularan bakteri. Penggunaan hand sanitizer merupakan upaya yang paling sederhana, efektif dan efisien. Penambahan bahan alami seperti ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica Dioica L.) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai anti bakteri. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ini berupa penyuluhan serta pelatihan secara langsung pembuatan produk hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.). Setelah adanya kegiatan PKM ini, peningkatan pemahaman kelompok mitra terhadap PHBS dan produksi hand sanitizer mengalami peningkatan sekitar 2,86 – 37,90%.

Abstract

MAN Binjai merupakan salah satu sekolah yang gencar mendukung gerakan madrasah sehat, bersih dan cinta lingkungan. Salah satu limbah yang banyak terdapat dilingkungan madrasah adalah limbah minyak jelantah dari kegiatan memasak di kantin. Limbah minyak jelantah dapat mencemari tanah dan menyumbat saluran air jika tidak ditangani dengan benar.  Kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi tentang pemanfaatan minyak jelantah penting dilakukan sebagai Upaya mengurangi limbah serta pemanfaatan ulang limbah minyak jelantah menjadi produk yang bernilai jual. Alternatif pemanfaatan minyak jelantah antara lain menjadi lilin aromaterapi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) yang dilakukan bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan kelompok mitra dalam pemanfaatan limbah minyak jelantah. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan PkM ini adalah sosialisasi, edukasi dan pelatihan secara langsung pembuatan lilin aromaterapi berbasis kulit jeruk dari minyak jelantah. Hasil kegiatan PkM ini meningkatkan pengetahuan kelompok mitra terkait minyak jelantah dan dampaknya sebesar 11,11%, pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan minyak jelantah meningkat sebesar 77,78%, pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi meningkat sebesar 74,07% dan pengetahuan pemanfaatan kulit jeruk menjadi pewangi pada lilin aromaterapi meningkat sebesar 33,33%. Kegiatan PkM yang dilaksanakan juga mendapat respon positif dari kelompok mitra yang dianalisis menggunakan angket kuesioner.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Macromedia Flash 8-based learning media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of chemical bonding. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group, involving two randomly selected classes from a public secondary school in Medan. The experimental class was taught using interactive media developed with Macromedia Flash 8, while the control class received instruction using conventional PowerPoint-based methods. Both classes were instructed using the Discovery Learning model to ensure consistency in pedagogy. A multiple-choice test served as the research instrument and was administered to both groups as a pretest and a posttest. The collected data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, N-Gain calculations, and a one-tailed t-test to determine statistical significance. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class, based on the N-Gain value (0.64) compared to the control class (0.56). These findings suggest that using Macromedia Flash 8 enhances students’ conceptual understanding and engagement, particularly in abstract topics such as chemical bonding. The interactive animations and visual elements embedded in the media helped bridge the gap between microscopic chemical representations and student comprehension.
