Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine the chemistry instructional model to improve student learning outcomes, communicative and self confidence character’s for XI grade of senior high school on teaching solution chemistry. The 3 experiment class as a samples were taken by purposive random sampling respectively from 3 units of state senior high school (SMA Negeri) in Medan. These experiment class were taught by various teaching model. The experiment class-1 (Ec-1) taught by direct instruction strategy, experimen class-2 (Ec-2) by problem-based learning without media and experiment class-3 (Ec-3) by problem-based learning using the Internet media. The achievement test about solution chemistry used as instrument to know student outcomes, and quisionary and observation list used as intrument to know how communicative and confidence student characters. The one-way ANOVA in SPSS 19 for windows program used to hypothesis testing at α = 0.05 level of significance. The results shows (1) There is a significant differences of students learning outcomes between students which taught by direct instruction model, problem-based learning without media and problem-based learning model using internet media on teaching solution chemistry. (2) There is a significance differences of student communicative character between students which taught by by direct instruction model, problem-based learning without media and problem-based learning model using internet media on teaching solution chemistry. (3) There is a significance differences of student self confidence character between students which taught by by direct instruction model, problem-based learning without media and problem-based learning model using internet media on teaching solution chemistry. (4) There is a significant corelation between student communicative character with student learning outcomes in class who taught by problem-based learning using internet media. (5) There is a significant corelation between self-confident character with student learning outcomes in class who taught by direct instruction, problem-based learning without media and problem-based learning using internet media. Abstract

Face wash is a facial cleanser in the form of a gel containing foam which is recommended for sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. One of the natural ingredients that can be developed is nettle (Urtica dioica L.). The aim of this study was to to determine the potential of nettle leaf extract facial wash. The process of making nettle leaf extract using the maceration method with ethanol as a solvent. The results of the characteristics of nettle leaf simplicia powder obtained 13.78% water content, 37.7% water soluble extract content, 37.89% ethanol soluble extract content, 14.69% total ash content. The screening of simplicia powder results were positive for containing alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, steroids, saponins, tannins. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that ethanol extract of nettle leaves can be formulated in a facial wash with a variation of concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%.

Abstract

Scrub cream is a pharmaceutical preparation which function is to remove dead skin cells, moisturize and brighten the skin with the help of scrub ingredients. One of the natural ingredients used as raw material for scrub cream is fragrant pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.). The aim of this study was to make a cream scrub preparation from pandan extract with various concentrations of 3%, 3.5% and 4%. This research was conducted experimentally. Preparation testing includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, irritation test, spreadability test, stability test, and emulsion type test. The results of the physical quality inspection of the scrub cream from pandan Wangi extract showed that the preparation was homogeneous, had an M/A emulsion type, had a pH value of 6.1-6.5, did not cause irritation and did not change during storage for 4 weeks except for the preparation with a concentration of 3.5% because the preparation underwent a change in the breakdown of the emulsion in the preparation on storage starting from the 3rd week. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb extract can be formulated as a scrub cream with a variation of concentration of 3%; 3.5% and 4% and does not irritate the volunteers' skin.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.) dilakukan dalam rangka mendukung gerakan madrasah sehat di MTsN 3 Medan melalui program perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). PHBS dianggap mampu menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang sehat. Salah satu cara menjaga kebersihan yang paling dasar adalah menjaga kebersihan tangan yang banyak menjadi akses penularan bakteri. Penggunaan hand sanitizer merupakan upaya yang paling sederhana, efektif dan efisien. Penambahan bahan alami seperti ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica Dioica L.) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai anti bakteri. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ini berupa penyuluhan serta pelatihan secara langsung pembuatan produk hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.). Setelah adanya kegiatan PKM ini, peningkatan pemahaman kelompok mitra terhadap PHBS dan produksi hand sanitizer mengalami peningkatan sekitar 2,86 – 37,90%.

Abstract

The Community Empowerment Program is implemented by activity partners, namely the German caterpillar breeder group in Marindal Village, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The problems experienced by partners in running their business include: 1) Limited capital so partners have not been able to add to the German caterpillar breeding drum, 2) Knowledge in breeding German caterpillars is still limited, 3) The amount of German caterpillar harvest production cannot be increased. The solutions that will be implemented to overcome partner problems are: 1) Making German caterpillar breeding cages with more numbers than partners have, 2) Training on German caterpillar breeding, 3) Handing over cages (shelves and boxes) to partners. The method of implementing activities is training and mentoring. The results obtained were an increase in partners' knowledge in breeding German caterpillars and the availability of cages with more shelves so that they could increase German caterpillar production Program Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dilaksanakan pada mitra kegiatan yaitu kelompok peternak ulat jerman yang berada di Desa Marindal Kecamatan Patumbak Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Adapun permasalahan yang dialami mitra dalam menjalankan usahanya meliputi : 1) Modal terbatas sehingga mitra belum dapat menambah kendang pembiakan ulat jerman, 2) Pengetahuan dalam membiakkan ulat jerman masih terbatas, 3) Jumlah produksi panen ulat jerman belum dapat ditingkatkan. Adapun solusi yang akan diterapkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra yaitu : 1) Pembuatan kandang pembiakan ulat jerman dengan jumlah yang lebih banyak dari yang dimiliki mitra, 2) Pelatihan pembiakan ulat jerman, 3) Penyerahan kandang (rak dan kotak) kepada mitra. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu pelatiahan da pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra dalam membiakkan ulat jerman dan tersedianya kandang yang memiliki rak lebih banyak sehingga dapat meningkatkan produksi ulat jerman.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana efektifitas model pembelajaran advance organizer dengan media internet terhadap hasil belajar dan tingkat kemandirian siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di MAN 3 Medan. Tiga kelas eksperimen yaitu X1, X2 dan X3 sebagai sampel melalui teknik random sampling, masing-masing 27 orang siswa. X1 adalah kelas dengan pembelajaran model direct instruction, X2 diberi  pembelajaran advance organizer dan media internet  dan X3 diberi  pembelajaran model pembelajaran advance organizer tanpa media. Untuk mengukur hasil belajar digunakan instrument tes, sedang instrument non-tes digunakan dalam pengukuran karakter kemandirian. Dengan Uji ANOVA One Way, didapati rata-rata hasil belajar kelas X1, X2 dan X3 berturut sebesar 68.44, 72.26, dan 72.04 serta hasil karakter kemandirian siswa sebesar 36.22, 38.48, dan 35.96. Dari data didapat bahwa kelas dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar dan karakter kemandirian yang paling tinggi adalah kelas X2. Nilai signifikansi uji ANOVA One Way sebesar 0,016 untuk hasil belajar dan 0,019 untuk karakter kemandirian, ini membuktikan pengaruh variasi model pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar juga karakter kemandirian siswa. Dari hasil uji korelasi antara hasil belajar dan kemandirian didapat nilai sig. 0.011, ini memperlihatkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar dan karakter kemandirian siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and obtain Web-based learning media that meets the eligibility requirements according to BSNP criteria, determine the increase in student competency by using the developed Web-based media and determine the percentage of student responses to Web-based media used in lectures on the topic of instrument analysis. This research method is a research and development method using the ADDIE model. Web-based media was validated by media experts and material experts, then the valid media was presented to 26 Chemistry Education students at Medan State University to see the influence of the Webb media developed and get responses on the web-based media used. The research results show that the Web-based learning media developed meets the BSNP eligibility criteria with an average percentage of 91.25%. The use of Web-based media can increase student competency in lectures on the topic of Instrument Analysis, namely 75% for experimental classes that use Web media and 56% for classes without Web media. Learning outcomes using Webb media are better than without using Webb media and student responses to the use of Webb-based media in lectures Topic evaluation Instrument analysis is very high. Thus, over all the Web-based media developed is good for use in lectures on the topic of Instrument Analysis, to provide students with learning experiences in using the Web.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif berbasis Google Sites terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA. Penggunaan media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif berbasis google sites merupakan salah satu alternatif yang bisa digunakan di masa sekarang. Google Sites dapat digunakan untuk masa pembelajaran baik daring maupun luring. media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif berbasis Google Sites ini memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mengulang pekembelajaran di rumah. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pre eksperimental atau penelitian semu dengan menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen tanpa kelas kontrol. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dalam bentuk pilihan berganda dengan jumlah 10 butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif berbasis Google Sites terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok suhu dan kalor di kelas XI SMA Negeri 10 Medan dengan nilai rata-rata pretes diperoleh 48,33 sedangkan untu nilai postes diperoleh rata-rata 82,67. Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran, Google Sites, hasil belajar.

Abstract

The Micro Teaching course aims to provide prospective teaching students with several basic teaching skills. The absence of micro laboratories and the difficulty of students in presenting basic teaching skills necessary for teachers or prospective teachers require learning media. Video media for basic teaching skills can overcome space and time limitations and be used repeatedly.  This research aims to determine the feasibility of the basic teaching skills video media being developed and to find out students' responses or interest in the basic teaching skills video media being developed. The type of this research is Research and Development (RD) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the research show that the average validation scores for basic teaching skills video media design from material experts and media experts are 91% and 91.25%, so the basic teaching skills video media is declared very valid. Responses from 13 students also showed that the video media developed was very interesting with an average score of 85.81% in the very good category. Thus, video media for basic teaching skills is perfect for use in micro-learning lectures.

Abstract

Global climate change and rapid population growth have created significant challenges to food security. To overcome these challenges, innovative technologies are needed that are capable of increasing agricultural yields in a sustainable manner. This research aims to explore the concept of Nanoagrotechnology as a smart technology that has the potential to increase agricultural productivity and efficiency while maintaining environmental sustainability. Nanoagrotechnology integrates nanotechnology applications in crop production and protection, such as the use of nano-fertilisers, nanopesticides, nanobiosensors, and nano-based technologies for remediation of contaminated soil. This research method uses a literature review approach by analysing various study results related to the application of nanotechnology in the agricultural sector. The results of the analysis show that nanotechnology is able to increase the efficiency of resource use, reduce negative environmental impacts, and produce crops with better quality and quantity. Nanoagrotechnology is thus a potential solution to the challenges of modern agriculture and contributes to global food security.
