Abstract

The research entitled “ Critical Social of Law System in The Novel Bukan Kerena Kau, by Toha Mohtar (A Sociological Analysis)” intends to tell the critical social in law system which has been occurred  at that time as the novel written. Critical social is one of literature critics which specially studies literature using social aspects in its consideration. Sociologically, BKK novel  is a very interesting novel because it is able to tell the critical social in its story. In the novel, we can see the poor of social living  situation and condition . It is in line with Indonesia history which the people have just been independent. The critical social of  law system  has not revealed the involvement of law as a social control device and a means to expedite the process of social interaction.

Abstract

Literature of a cultural product always interacts with social problems, including issues of locality and local identity. The problem of local identity in the novel Penangsang: Tembang Rindu Dendam is the main concern in this study. The background of the local locality and identity of Cepu which became the center of the Duchy of Jipang in the past was the setting of a place, as well as a space where the final historical and cultural journey of the power of the Demak Sultanate took place. This novel was written in 2010 by Nassirun Purwokartun. This historical novel invites us to rethink Cepu's locality and local identity, which has been a legacy of past generations. Articulation of identity and locality issues seem to be the attention voiced in this novel as well as being an instrument or instrument of articulation. This study uses the New Historicism approach, one literary theory that views history, art, and other things in society has the same degree as the text data in literature. It is hoped that literary research will get the context of the problem in accordance with the situation of the community.

Abstract

The issue of locality emerged in line with the 1998 reform movement, one of which demanded decentralization of development, including culture. The local identity of the Cepu community is important in this study. Talking about Cepu City cannot be separated from the Islamic Sultanate of Demak, Sunan Kudus, and Arya Penangsang. Arya Penangsang is the grandson of Raden Patah (founder of the Islamic Sultanate of Demak), Sunan Kudus's favorite religious and intelligent student. He is also the Duke of Jipang (Cepu of the past) who is known to be wise, brave, and a staunch Muslim. However, Cepu is an old city that historically has always been defeated, especially after the collapse of the Islamic Sultanate of Demak which was replaced by Javanese rulers in Pajang and Mataram. In the coastal areas he was known as the prince of the last heir to the Islamic Sultanate of Demak who was killed dramatically. The representation of Cepu's local identity comes through the figure of Arya Penangsang and efforts to revitalize the past glory of Jipang Kadipaten as a means of articulation. Interestingly, Arya Penangsang is a figure whom the rulers and most of the Javanese people regard as an evil, cruel, and power-hungry rebel. Thus, efforts to represent the local identity of the Cepu community clash with the dominant discourse of Javanese society in general. Using the ethnographic method, this article aims to express the love of the Cepu people towards Arya Penangsang and the Kadipaten Jipang. The results of this study will explain how Arya Penangsang and the past glory of the Kadipaten Jipang have been awakened in the collective memory of the Cepu people. Arya Penangsang and the Kadipaten Jipang are currently constructed as local heroes in discourses on the revitalization of Cepu City. The results of this study contribute to become a model for the revitalization of other cities that have the same issue.

Abstract

Solo is known as the hometown of kethoprak art. Kethoprak is classified into two types based on geographical reasons and performance characteristics, namely Pati kethoprak Pati(coastal) and kethoprak Solo-Jogja (Mataraman). The stories in Kethoprak Mataraman generally come from Babad Tanah Djawi. In this case, the version of the inland Javanese ruler is very visible. Through the character Arya Penangsang, kethoprak Mataraman seems to build a hegemonic representation. The hegemonic representations of kethoprak Mataraman in the Penangsang Gugur stage, first, Arya Penangsang is depicted as a power hungry character. Second, Sunan Kudus is described as an unjust and cunning teacher. Third, Arya Penangsang was described as a rebel for the Sultanate of Pajang. Fourth, the establishment of the Pajang Sultanate in inland Java as the successor to the Demak Sultanate.

Abstract

Several districts and cities in Central Java have begun to identify the richness of local history, art and culture to become regional icons. Pati Regency is currently starting to develop a discourse as "Kethoprak City". Meanwhile, the city of Solo - Solo is often referred to as the hometown of kethoprak - was previously known as the City of Tourism and Culture because it has various assets of Javanese history, culture and arts. Kethoprak Pati (kethoprak pesisiran) and kethoprak Solo and Jogja (kethoprak Mataraman), if we look closely, will find several differences, one of which can be seen from the tendency of the plays in the performance. Kethoprak Pati features many plays that tell the story of the north coast of Java (Coastal Java). Some of the plays that are often played include the character Saridin that we can see in many plays such as Saridin Born, Saridin Andum Waris, Geger Palembang, Ontran-ontran Cirebon, Bedhahing Ngerum, Ondorante, and Lulang Kebo Landoh. The people of Pati and its surroundings recognize Saridin as a strange person and likes to do whatever he wants. However, he is also known as a powerful person and often breaks through common logic to reveal truth and justice. The existence of Saridin in the speech stories and kethoprak performances is often seen as a representation of critical wisdom in the Javanese coastal community.

Abstract

The problem of locality and local wisdom in Indonesia became a problem that received a lot of attention after the 1998 reform. Government in the New Order era which was previously centralized and centralized in Jakarta turned into decentralized with the concept of regional autonomy. Some districts and cities in Central Java began to identify the rich history, local arts and culture to be appointed as regional icons. Magelang regency made the Soreng dance from Ngablak District a typical dance of a cultural icon. Soreng Dance tells the story of one of the historical figures in Java, namely Arya Penangsang. Characterization of the Arya Penangsang in the Soreng dance which take the source of the story from the Babad Tanah Djawi represent a form of representation of the Javanese ruler of Mataraman, namely the Sultanate of Pajang which was passed on by the Sultanate of Mataram and its heirs (Surakarta Palace, Yogyakarta Palace, Mangkunegaran, and Pakualaman) for the benefit of hegemony. The results of this study reveal that representation is used by several parties concerned with the figure of Arya Penangsang, namely: 1) Babad Tanah Djawi / Javanese Mataraman culture manifested in Soreng dance art; 2) Soreng dance depicts Arya Penangsang as a rude and power-hungry figure, defeated by a very young child, and his territory (Jipang) is despised by the Pajang Sultanate because it is seen as a rebel; 3) Soreng dance strengthens the representation of hegemony-style Babad Tanah Djawi/Javanese Mataraman culture.

Abstract

Teenlit tells the story of teenage social themes with simple and light language. Western culture and personality that became the main background was finally adopted by Indonesian youth. This is seen in their behavior and social life. However, teenlit can be used as an effective adolescent character education medium. This study explains the desired characteristics of adolescents. This can be seen when teenagers read teenlit with the model cut into scripts and critical reading. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical method. This method is used to identify the culture and personality of Western teenagers contained in teenlit. This study also uses observation to find out how adolescent responses are related to character education. Results from this study: 1) adolescent understanding of Western youth culture and personality; 2) adolescent understanding of Western youth culture and personality adopted from adolescents, among others: clothing and fashion, interpreting entertainment, and how to get along; 3) the expected formulation of teenage characters.Keywords: Teenlit; teenager; culture; and personality.IntisariTeenlit bercerita tentang tema sosial remaja dengan sederhana dan bahasa ringan. Budaya dan kepribadian Barat yang menjadi latar utama akhirnya diadopsi oleh remaja Indonesia. Hal ini tampak dalam perilaku dan kehidupan sosial mereka. Namun, teenlit dapat digunakan sebagai media pendidikan karakter remaja yang efektif. Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang karakter yang diinginkan remaja. Hal ini tampak saat remaja membaca teenlit dengan model potong naskah dan membaca kritis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitis. Metode ini digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi budaya dan kepribadian remaja Barat yang terkandung dalam teenlit. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan observasi untuk mengetahui bagaimana tanggapan remaja terkait dengan pendidikan karakter. Hasil dari penelitian ini: 1) pemahaman remaja tentang budaya dan kepribadian remaja Barat; 2) pemahaman remaja tentang budaya dan kepribadian remaja Barat yang diadopsi dari remaja, antara lain: pakaian dan mode, menafsirkan hiburan, dan bagaimana bergaul; 3) perumusan karakter remaja yang diharapkan.Kata kunci: Teenlit; remaja; budaya; dan kepribadian.

Abstract

Novel Tarian Dua Wajah karya S. Prasetyo Utomo merupakan novel yang memiliki nilai-nilai positif dan mendapatkan penghargaan Acarya Sastra 2015. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) memaparkan unsur struktural novel Tarian Dua Wajah karya S. Praseto Utomo khususnya tema, tokoh, alur, latar, dan amanat. (2) memaparkan nilai pendidikan apa saja yang terkandung dalam Novel Tarian Dua Wajah karya Praseto Utomo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi pustaka. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kata, frasa, dan kalimat dalam novel Tarian Dua Wajah karya Prasetyo Utomo. Hasil analisis novel adalah pemaparan struktur intrinsik novel dan pemaparan nilai pendidikan yang ada di dalam novel. Nilai pendidkan yang terdapat di dalam novel yakni nilai pendidikan agama, nilai pendidikan moral, nilai pendidikan sosial, nilai pendidikan budaya, dan nilai pendidikan politik.Kata Kunci: nilai pendidikan, sosiologi sastra, tarian dua wajah

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis unsur lingkungan sosial yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan proses perkembangan psikologi remaja tokoh Hepi dalam novel Anak Rantau karya A. Fuadi. Metode psikologi dan metode struktural digunakan dengan memanfaatkan kajian teori struktural fiksi, perkembangan psikologi remaja Elizabeth B. Hurlock, dan Teori Ekologi Urie Bronfenbrenner, serta menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data dalam novel dan menyajikannya dalam bentuk penjelasan. Hasil penelitian struktural fiksi menunjukkan bahwa penggambaran tokoh penokohan dalam novel Anak Rantau ini sangat diperkuat dengan unsur latar dan alur. Analisis perkembangan psikologi remaja dari tokoh Hepi menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sosial sekitarnya, yaitu mikrosistem (keluarga, teman sebaya, sekolah, lingkungan sekitar), mesosistem (keluarga dengan sekolah, keluarga dengan teman sebaya, teman sebaya dengan sekolah, keluarga dengan lingkungan sekitar, serta kelompok besar), eksosistem (keluarga dengan pekerjaan, keluarga besar, dan tetangga), makrosistem (adat istiadat dan agama), dan kronosistem (keluarga tanpa peran ibu), mempengaruhi keberhasilan dalam menemukan jati diri dan kebahagiaan masa remaja.Kata kunci: Anak Rantau, struktural, perkembangan psikologi, lingkungan sosial,  remaja
