Abstract

Method: Desain penelitian riset kualitatif.

Abstract

Introduction: One factor that can contribute to stunting is poor sleep quality in children. This is due to the disruption of the growth hormone process, which can lead to shorter stature. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Tui Na massage on the sleep quality of toddlers aged 4 to 5 years.Method: This research employed a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test structure. It involved 34 respondents, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Tui Na massage was the intervention applied. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire was used to measure sleep quality. Results: Before the Tui Na massage, the majority of toddlers had sleep quality categorized as poor, with 16 respondents (47.1%). After six consecutive days of Tui Na massage, the toddlers' sleep quality im-proved, with 24 respondents (70.6%) showing better sleep quality. Da-ta analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of -4.969 with a p-value of 0.000, indicating a statisti-cally significant effect of Tui Na massage on the sleep quality of toddlers in efforts to prevent stunting in Banjar Kawan, Bangli.Discussion: Good quality sleep in toddlers is essential for support-ing optimal growth and development, which can help reduce the risk of stunting.

Abstract

Introduction: The primary issue facing diabetes patients today is the lack of adherence to their treatment plans. The high prevalence of diabetes poses a significant challenge for both patients and their fami-lies. This study aims to describe medication adherence, dietary habits, and physical exercise among patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: This study is a descriptive analysis involving 82 partici-pants selected through a purposive sampling technique. The study in-cluded patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who had been diagnosed for at least one year, lived with their families, and did not have any men-tal health issues. Data collection was conducted by visiting respondents at their homes. The questionnaire was administered with the assis-tance of a researcher and an enumerator, taking approximately 20 to 25 minutes to complete. Results: The study found that nonadherence to diet, medication, and exercise among type 2 diabetes patients remains high, with rates of 73.2%, 72.0%, and 61.0%, respectively. Conclusion: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have been diagnosed for more than one year exhibit poor diabetes management. These patients struggle to maintain a consistent medication and die-tary schedule and fail to engage in regular physical exercise.

Abstract

Abstract

Thalassemia is a blood disorder that is passed down genetically from parents to their children. The body cannot form normal red blood cells resulting in them being damaged easily and having a short life of less than 120 days and anemia, requiring continuous blood transfusions to maintain hemoglobin levels in the body. A history of repeated blood transfusions can cause excess iron in the body which is characterized by an increase in serum ferritin levels which can cause damage to kidney function by looking at creatinine levels. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between ferritin and creatinine levels in children with thalassemia. This study used a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used in this study was the total sampling technique. The sample used was 12 samples. Data processing in this study used the Shapiro-Wilk Normality test and the Pearson Correlation test in bivariate analysis. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that there is no significant relationship between the ferritin and creatinine levels in children with thalassemia where the value of Sig. 0.212 > 0.05 (p> 0.05), and shows a significant negative correlation of -0.389. This study in thalassemia children had high ferrtin levels but creatinine levels were still within normal limits.
