Abstract

This community empowerment program collaborated with the Pujon Hill Forest Farmers Group (KTH) in Bendosari Village, Pujon, Malang, to empower farmers in utilizing local medicinal plants to produce fermented herbal drinks. Activities included socialization, training, fermentation process demonstrations, and participatory evaluation. A total of 80 participants were involved in this program. The results showed an increase in knowledge and practical skills in the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, the successful production of fermented herbal beverage prototypes, and a clear interest in continuing production. Many participants reported chronic health complaints (e.g., fatigue, hypertension, joint pain), indicating community demand for functional herbal beverages. This program demonstrates the potential to improve community health awareness and household income. Recommendations include improving quality control, packaging, and market relations to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

Budidaya tanaman semusim yang dilakukan petani desa Bendosari mengancam keberlanjutan hutan di KHDTK Pujon Hill yang merupakan wilayah DAS Brantas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberdayakan Kelompok Tani Hutan Pujon Hill. Pengabdian ini secara jangka panjang akan mewujudkan daerah aliran sungai yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Bendosari kecamatan Pujon mulai bulan Juli 2023-Januari 2024 di desa Bendosari kecamatan Pujon. Kelompok sasarannya Kelompok Tani Hutan Pujon Hill. Metode yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan konservasi hutan, budidaya sistem agoforestri, bantuan dan penanaman bibit tanaman serta peningkatan kapasitas kelembagaan Kelompok Tani Hutan.

Abstract

Ketergantungan masyarakat sekitar kawasan hutan dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya alam merupakan salah satu tantangan utama dalam konservasi hutan. Di kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Pujon Hill, interaksi antara masyarakat dan hutan telah terjadi sejak lama. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pemberdayaan Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) Pujon Hill sebagai strategi mengurangi ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap hutan sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Program pemberdayaan ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2024 di Desa Bendosari, Kecamatan Pujon, dengan metode penyuluhan agroforestri, penerapan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Diharapkan, upaya ini dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam menjaga kelestarian kawasan hutan.

Abstract

Agroforestry has been widely practiced by forest farmer groups in forest-edge areas; however, its contribution to household food security and product diversification is often not optimally developed. This community service program aimed to strengthen agroforestry-based food security and livelihood diversification at KTH Pujon Hill, Malang Regency, through the integration of food crops, coffee, and medicinal plants. The program was implemented using a participatory approach involving socialization, training, technology application, and continuous mentoring. Results showed that the integration of medicinal plants into existing agroforestry systems improved land-use efficiency, enhanced farmers’ knowledge and skills, and encouraged simple value addition through herbal beverage processing. Agroforestry practices at KTH Pujon Hill contribute to household food security by ensuring food availability, supporting income generation, and improving microclimatic conditions for crop production. The program highlights the potential of agroforestry-based community empowerment to support sustainable livelihoods and food security in forest-edge communities when supported by continuous assistance and institutional strengthening.

Abstract

The increasing electricity demand in Indonesia’s small and medium enterprise (SME) sector has encouraged the adoption of renewable energy technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. This study aims to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of integrating a grid-connected rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system at Diva Bakery, a food-processing SME located in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. The system was designed using a rooftop maximum capacity scenario and simulated using PVsyst software, while economic feasibility was assessed through discounted cash flow analysis. The proposed system has an installed capacity of 4.95 kWp, consisting of 9 monocrystalline PV modules rated at 550 Wp and a 4 kW grid-tied inverter. Simulation results indicate that the system can generate 8,288.4 kWh/year, with a specific yield of 1,674 kWh/kWp/year and a performance ratio of 80.51%, demonstrating good technical performance under tropical climatic conditions. The largest system loss was attributed to temperature effects, highlighting the importance of proper ventilation and installation design. Economic analysis shows an annual electricity cost saving of IDR 14.09 million, with a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 58.4 million, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 18.7%, a discounted payback period of 5.4 years, and a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) of IDR 986/kWh, which is lower than the applicable PLN electricity tariff. In addition, the system is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 6.08 tons CO₂/year. The results confirm that rooftop PV implementation in food-processing SMEs is technically feasible, economically attractive, and environmentally beneficial, making it a promising strategy to enhance SME competitiveness and support Indonesia’s clean energy transition. Abstract

Transportasi memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam ekonomi suatu negara, hal ini dikarenakan seluruh masyarakat bergantung pada sektor transportasi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi fasilitas keselamatan pada transportasi publik yang belum optimal, terutama pada aspek kenyamanan dan keselamatan akibat tingginya kepadatan penumpang serta keterbatasan desain ergonomi. Pada penelitian sebelumnya berfokus pada aspek teknis keselamatan atau evaluasi ergonomi secara terpisah, sedangkan penelitian ini mengintegrasikan evaluasi ergonomi dan pendekatan Human-Centered Design dalam pengembangan fasilitas keselamatan transportasi publik berdasarkan pengalaman nyata pengguna. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan di Bus Trans Jatim koridor 1 (Terminal Purabaya) dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 78 orang dengan rentang umur 20 - 40 tahun. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan desain studi kasus melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya permasalahan pada desain kursi dan pegangan tangan, kurangnya kejelasan sistem informasi bagi pengguna, serta ketidaktertiban sistem antrian dan pengelolaan penumpang. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada penurunan kenyamanan dan peningkatan risiko keselamatan pengguna. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, direkomendasikan untuk perbaikan desain fasilitas, peningkatan sistem informasi yang lebih jelas dan real-time, serta penguatan manajemen operasional di halte maupun dalam bus. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan prinsip ergonomi secara terintegrasi dalam meningkatkan kualitas transportasi publik yang aman, nyaman, dan efisien.
