Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in educational leadership, emphasizing the balance between maximizing AI’s benefits and managing its ethical responsibilities. The research aims to analyze how managing AI’s benefits, such as administrative efficiency (84% agreement) and data-driven decision-making (75% agreement), along with addressing ethical risks, including privacy concerns (85% agreement) and accountability (82% agreement), impacts institutional outcomes. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data from 150 survey responses were analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses, revealing positive correlations between AI management and institutional outcomes (e.g., r = 0.68 for administrative efficiency). Qualitative data from 20 interviews were analyzed thematically, with prominent themes including privacy, fairness, and transparency. The quantitative data showed that effective AI management is significantly associated with improved institutional outcomes, while qualitative insights underscored the need for ethical frameworks to guide AI use. Balancing AI’s operational benefits with ethical safeguards enhances institutional effectiveness and supports responsible AI integration in educational settings. These findings provide a foundation for policies that promote transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI-driven educational leadership.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into lifelong learning creates a range of opportunities and challenges, especially for educational equity and human capital development. AI applications in educational environments have the potential to enable personalized learning, expand access, and improve outcomes. Yet, these advantages raise important issues regarding privacy, bias, and human oversight in education. The main aim of this research is to investigate how AI can support educational equality in lifelong learning environments. The research aims to recognise and respond to ethical issues, such as bias, privacy, and implications for autonomy in learning. The study employs a mixed-methods design that includes quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, and document analysis to assess these concerns. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis are employed for quantitative data, while thematic analysis is conducted for qualitative data to identify major patterns related to ethical considerations. Results demonstrate that AI integration is significantly and positively associated with perceived educational equity (β=0.45, p=0.001), while Data Privacy Concern (β=−0.30, p=0.003) and Algorithmic Bias Concern (β=−0.25, p=0.042) show significant negative moderating effects. Qualitative analysis identifies regulatory need (90%), data privacy (75%), and algorithmic bias (60%) as dominant stakeholder concerns. The study underscores the imperative of robust ethical governance frameworks to ensure AI technologies advance educational equity equitably and sustainably

Abstract

Early childhood education institutions are increasingly required to strengthen educational quality while maintaining institutional competitiveness in dynamic educational environments. This study aims to analyze the strategic planning practices of the principal of TK Asasi Tanjungbalai in improving educational quality and institutional competitiveness. The research employed a qualitative descriptive case study design, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation analysis. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification to ensure credibility through triangulation. The findings reveal three major themes. First, the principal implemented a vision-driven strategic alignment model that integrated long-term goals with curriculum development, teacher professional growth, and resource allocation. Second, participatory strategic governance was established through collaborative planning forums involving teachers, staff, and parents, strengthening collective ownership and accountability. Third, institutional branding strategies were systematically developed through program innovation, community partnerships, and digital promotion, enhancing public trust and enrollment growth. These findings contribute to the literature on strategic leadership in early childhood education by providing an integrated model linking planning, participation, and branding. It is recommended that early childhood institutions institutionalize participatory strategic planning frameworks to ensure sustainable quality improvement.
