Abstract

Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders among the elderly, characterized by difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep. This condition significantly impacts mental and physical health, reducing the quality of life. This study aims to analyze the factors causing insomnia in the elderly, its effects on health, and literature-based solutions to address the issue. The method employed is library research, analyzing 15 reliable sources, including scientific journals and books, published between 2019 and 2024. The findings indicate that the main causes of insomnia in the elderly include circadian rhythm changes, chronic illnesses, psychosocial stress, medication use, sedentary lifestyle, and poor habits, such as technology usage before bedtime. This condition triggers various effects, such as depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, metabolic disorders, and increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. The proposed solutions involve multidisciplinary approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, stress management, and lifestyle adjustments. This study highlights the importance of holistic interventions to reduce the prevalence of insomnia among the elderly and improve their quality of life. By providing a better understanding of the causes and impacts, this research serves as a reference for healthcare practitioners, families, and communities to support the well-being of the elderly.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' needs for guidance and counseling (BK) services in higher education in order to improve students' mental well-being. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), by examining eight relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. Data sources were obtained through the ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar databases, using the keywords "guidance and counseling in higher education", "student well-being", and "counseling needs". The research procedure includes the stages of identification, selection, data extraction, and thematic synthesis to find consistent patterns and conclusions. The results show that students have a high need for BK services which include academic, social, career, and psychological aspects. BK services have proven to play an important role in helping students manage stress, increase self-awareness, develop resilience, and strengthen mental well-being. However, the implementation of BK services in universities still faces challenges, such as limited human resources, lack of student awareness of the function of BK, and lack of institutional support. Technology-based innovations, such as e-counseling and artificial intelligence (AI) integration, are considered to be able to expand access to services and increase the effectiveness of counseling, especially for students who are reluctant to do face-to-face counseling. This research confirms that BK services are a strategic component in the higher education system that supports the development of character and mental well-being of students. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the capacity of counselors, innovate technology-based services, and a holistic approach that integrates academic, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

Hearing loss in the elderly is a common health problem that can affect quality of life, including family perspectives and patient care. The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors that cause hearing loss in the elderly and to analyze patient and family perceptions of the impact of hearing loss. The method used in this study was a qualitative approach through the library research method. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The study showed that the main risk factors for hearing loss in the elderly are advanced age, noise exposure, hypertension, diabetes, and use of ototoxic drugs. Family involvement in the care process can improve patient autonomy and quality of care. In addition, communication challenges between families and health care providers also play an important role in the effectiveness of hearing loss management. In addition, patient and family perceptions of hearing loss are often influenced by limited understanding of hearing loss and lack of awareness of the importance of early detection. Most families support patients, but hearing loss causes communication difficulties that cannot be treated immediately. This study shows the need for a holistic approach to treating hearing loss in the elderly, including patient and family education and increasing early detection by health care professionals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between childhood trauma and borderline personality disorder. This research approach uses a qualitative method of literature study sourced from various kinds of references that have academic credibility, including scientific journals, relevant textbooks, research articles, and reports from studies that have been conducted previously. The results of the study showed that there was a correlation between childhood trauma and borderline personality disorder behavior. There is a proportional relationship between the level of childhood trauma and the level of borderline personality disorder experienced, where the higher the intensity of childhood trauma experienced by a person, the higher the tendency for borderline personality disorder to develop in the individual. On the other hand, the lower the level of childhood trauma experienced, the lower the manifestations of borderline personality disorder that appear. Childhood trauma has played a very large role as an etiological factor in the emergence of this psychiatric condition. This makes it possible to conceptualize the different forms of adaptation that individuals make to childhood trauma, or other forms of trauma that range from multiple personality disorders to severe abuse.

Abstract

Anxiety Disorder atau gangguan kecemasan merupakan kondisi psikologis yang ditandai dengan perasaan cemas intens yang episodik, seringkali muncul tanpa pemicu yang jelas, menyebabkan individu merasa tidak nyaman, gelisah, dan cenderung menghindari aktivitas sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah efektivitas penerapan Terapi Kognitif Perilaku (CBT) sebagai intervensi penanganan gangguan kecemasan pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Studi Pustaka (Library Research) Data dikumpulkan, dianalisis dari berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan, termasuk jurnal penelitian, buku, laporan akademik, dan publikasi online yang membahas CBT dalam konteks anxiety disorder pada populasi remaja. Hasil telaah pustaka secara konsisten menegaskan bahwa Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) merupakan intervensi yang sangat efektif dalam menangani gangguan kecemasan pada remaja. CBT bekerja dengan membantu remaja menetukan dan mengganti pola pikir irasional, mengelola emosi secara adaptif, dan memodifikasi perilaku maladaptif. Berbagai teknik CBT, seperti restrukturisasi kognitif, paparan bertahap, latihan relaksasi, dan pelatihan keterampilan sosial, terbukti mampu secara signifikan menurunkan gejala kecemasan, meningkatkan kontrol emosi, serta memperkuat kemampuan coping remaja dalam menghadapi tekanan. Penerapan CBT berkontribusi pada peningkatan kepercayaan diri, fungsi sosial, dan evaluasi diri yang lebih sehat. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa CBT merupakan pendekatan terapeutik yang komprehensif, relevan, dan berbasis bukti untuk penanganan gangguan kecemasan pada remaja. Keberhasilannya bukan direduksi gejala, tetapi kontribusi perkembangan psikologis remaja secara keseluruhan melalui penguatan aspek kognitif, emosional, dan perilaku. Oleh karena itu, CBT direkomendasikan sebagai intervensi alternatif yang tepat untuk mendukung kesehatan mental remaja baik dalam konteks pendidikan maupun klinis
