Abstract

Power-electronics based Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) have been proven to reduce electrical energy consumption for lighting purpose. As in common power-electronics-based electrical devices, CFLs can be categorized as non-linear loads. Therefore, the input current has a non-sinusoidal waveform and contains harmonics. This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of CFL application and proposes the attachment of THD value to the product package in order to improve the marketing policy. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is a method used to find the percentage value between the total harmonic components and their fundamental components. The percentage of THD causes the greater risk of damage to equipment due to harmonics that occur in current and voltage. Laboratory testing shows that a CFL sample has THD of the input current as high as 67.7%. This THD is relatively high and may degrade the electrical power quality. Moreover, it could lead to the misreading of electrical power and energy meter. Several experiment results are shown and analyzed to confirm the validity of the discussed matter.

Abstract

Currently, people are increasingly using energy saving lamp (LHE) and LED because of their energy saving and low power consumption. But the use of LHE and LED in large quantities can reduce the quality of electric power. This is because LHE and LED are classified as non-linear loads which are a source of harmonic distortion for low-voltage power lines. Harmonic distortion occurs due to non-linear load currents that experience distortion or defects. Based on this, this study aims to investigate the effect of the collective use of LHE and LEDs on the quality of electrical power, such as: harmonic levels, power factor, and the resulting harmonic current and voltage waveforms. The results of this study indicate that the simultaneous use of LHE and LED with a total of 60 pieces causes distortion of the current waveform with THDi of 63.97% exceeding the standard value of IEEE Std 519-2014, with dominant harmonic currents in the 3rd order with a THDi of 74% and order 5 with a THDi of 37.6% and a THDv value of 2.44%, still below the 5.0% standard of IEEE Std 519-2014. This high THDi value has a negative impact on the low PF value of 0.722, which does not meet the power factor requirements of ≥ 0.85 according to PLN standards. And if the true power factor (TPF) value is calculated, the TPF value is 0.608 which is lower than the PF value of 0.722. The results obtained from the Matlab simulation show conformity to the results obtained from experimental measurements in the laboratory, namely: the simulated harmonic waveform approximates the measured harmonic waveform.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat sistem informasi parkir otomatis, agar dapat mempermudah menentukan posisi parkir berbasis Telegram. Sistem ini dirancang untuk mengetahui informasi parkir dan menentukan posisi parkir yang dapat diakses oleh penghuni apartemen apabila ingin memarkirkan kendaraannya yang dapat diakses melalui telegram pada smartphone. Metode pembuatan alat dimulai dengan perancangan blok diagram, pemilihan spesifikasi komponen sesuai dengan blok diagram, pembuatan flowchart, mengintegrasikan hardware, dan pemograman sistem. Hasil perancangan dan pembuatan sistem informasi parkir otomatis ini dapat bekerja dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino Mega2560 sebagai pengontrolnya. Data sisa parkir diperoleh dari pembacaan data kendaraan yang masuk ke area parkir dan kendaraan yang keluar dari area parkir, proses pembacaan menggunakan dua sensor ultrasonik. Sistem dibuat berbasis Telegram, yang berarti sistem terhubung kejaringan internet dengan modul ESP8266 dan mikrokontroler Arduino mega2560. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa sistem yang telah dibuat mampu memberi informasi parkir dan menentukan posisi parkir.

Abstract

Pilkada is a process of implementing democracy that is followed by all circles of society, including generation Z. Social Media is very closely related to Generation Z. Generation Z tends to master technology and the internet since childhood. In the implementation of the 2020 Pilkada. Therefore, it is necessary to study the influence of social media as a source of political knowledge on political literacy in the 2020 Election of Blora Regency in the era of the covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine how influential social media is as a source of political knowledge in political literacy generation Z. This study was designed using mixed methods with a sequential explanatory strategy with data collection and quantitative data analysis in the first stage, followed by qualitative data collection and analysis. The sample in this study is Generation Z aged 17-24 years in Blora Regency, who have used their voting rights in the 2020 Pilkada. This study indicates that generation Z's political knowledge, knowledge of government, and knowledge of the environment and society are considered sufficient for political literacy. Because it is in the 2,3-3.6 interval, knowledge related to the political game rules is considered suitable for political literacy because it is at the highest interval of 3.6-4.9. From the output, the R square of political knowledge has a value of 0.641, which means that 64.1% of generation Z's political knowledge affects political literacy. Social media as a source of political knowledge affects the level of political literacy of generation Z. Other factors that can influence the political knowledge of generation Z are age, education, sources of information, experience, and occupation. However, social media as a source of political knowledge has not been appropriately utilized by the organizers and the candidate pair in providing information to voters.

Abstract

For commercial frequency telecommunication purposes, commonly used are C, Ku, and Ka-band. C-band is the most popular frequency used in Indonesia; its low frequency makes it relatively more resistant to rain interference. However, the use of C-band frequency is no longer sufficient for future communication needs. Alternative solution with higher frequency usage than C-band and Ku-band. The advantage of Ku-Band frequency is that with smaller antennas can produce large bandwidth (broadband), The use of Ku-band frequency also avoids interference because it is relatively uncommon in terrestrial systems. Determination of satellite, concerning the type of satellite, coverage area (footprint), and availability of satellite links (C-Band or Ku-Band). In this thesis, the satellites used in data analysis are SES-9 satellites, which are on a 108 ° East orbit with the availability of Ku-Band 81 links. (C / N) Total_inroute and (C / N) Total_outroute for the analyzed links are 11.49 dB and 12.44 dB, respectively. Abstract

Walking aids for people with visual impairments today still have many weaknesses, therefore it is necessary to develop technology that can help blind people move from place to place. This test was carried out with the aim of building a road tool design tool using a water sensor using the rain sensor module and the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor located in front, left, and right as well as testing the accuracy of the sensor and the success of the tool. The tool is designed using 3 Ultrasonic sensors HC-SR04, Arduino Pro Mini, DF Player Mini, TP4056 Charger Module, Rain Sensor Module, and a Speaker. The instrument was researched to be able to read a distance of 2cm to 150cm for the front, 2-75cm for the left, and 2-75cm for the right. In addition to distance testing, the tool is also tested to read any objects that can be detected and to test the water sensor which is 1.5cm higher than the surface of the tip of the stick. The output of the device is a sound recording issued by the speaker. The results of the research tool have a fairly high level of accuracy if the distance is <30cm from the obstacle while if it is more than >30cm the accuracy level of the tool decreases.

Abstract

The PLTS designed in the LPPM UKI-Jakarta building is an on-grid PLTS with the aim of lowering electricity bills. In analyzing this design, both from a technical and economic perspective, the PVSyst application tool was used. The intensity of solar radiation at the study site is 1654.1 kWh/m2 per year and the electrical energy that can be generated is 17,726 kWh/year using solar modules, a capacity of 10,675 Wp. Savings in the cost of paying for electricity using PLTS amounted to IDR 15,953,400 and the break even point of PLTS is 9.64 years, calculated after construction has been carried out. The construction of this PLTS also reduces CO2 emissions in Jakarta, due to the use of electricity from fossil fuels by 158.1 tons for 25 years. Based on the simulation results and engineering economic calculations from the PLTS being built, a reduction in the cost of using electricity was found to be 50% of the total cost of paying for electricity each year.
