Abstract

Renewable energy power generation technology continues to develop every year and energy demand continues toincrease. Reducing carbon emissions in accordance with international carbon emission policies (including Indonesia). The renewable energy target is targeted to increase every year in accordance with the national renewable energy mix policy. Renewable energy has characteristics that fluctuate over time, so continuous measurement data is needed. This data is used for the design of renewable energy in Indonesia in the future. To analyze the performance of a solar power plant, measurement variables are needed. Photovoltaic analysis requires measurement of variable voltage, current, power and energy. Measurement variables are measurement variables from photovoltaic and measurement variables from solar energy. The measurement of solar energy is measured in Watts per square meter. The measurement method is a direct measurement in the territory of Indonesia. The measurement method is the measurement at sunrise to sunset. The measurement results are used for performance analysis. The measurements result are used for photovoltaic efficiency analysis.

Abstract

Motor induksi merupakan salah satu motor listrik yang luas penggunaannya. Dalam kondisi tertentu motor induksi tak jarang mengalami kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh beban berlebih, hubung singkat di dalam kumparan, maupun kondisi lingkungan yang membuat motor induksi bekerja diluar batas kemampuannya. Salah satu akibat dari kerusakan pada motor induksi adalah kondisi kumparan yang tidak memungkinkan untuk digunakan lagi sehingga harus dilakukan rewinding. Setiap tipe belitan stator motor induksi akan menghasilkan distribusi magnetomotive force (MMF) pada celah udara yang berbeda. MMF yang dihasilkan terdiri dari komponen fundamental dan komponen harmonisanya. Jumlah komponen harmonisa pada distribusi MMF celah udara menimbulkan torsi parasit yang akan berpengaruh pada unjuk kerja motor induksi. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan penelitian perbandingan bentuk distribusi MMF celah udara terhadap dua tipe belitan yang berbeda yakni terbagi-screw (Motor A) dan terpusat-terditribusi (Motor B) pada motor induksi 1 fasa dengan kapasitas 1 kW 1000 rpm. Dari analisis harmonisa dan berbeban Motor A memiliki komponen harmonisa lebih tinggi dibanding Motor B sehingga Motor B memiliki peforma yang baik dalam hal torsi sebesar 4,608 Nm dibanding Motor A sebesar 3,37 Nm.

Abstract

Single phase induction motors are one of the most frequently used types of motors because of their economical, sturdy, simple and easy maintenance advantages. One application is for electric vehicles. When single phase induction motors are applied to electric vehicles there are problems related to torque regulation based on vehicle operating conditions where when operating on light road conditions the torque produced by the motor remains high. In this research, a single-phase induction motor was made to have the same proportion of torque produced by the main coil and auxiliary coil or a 1kW 1000 rpm symmetrical two-phase induction motor. The type of winding applied to the stator is divided screws with the main and auxiliary coils each occupying 18 stator slots, 45 conductors per slots,, with a conductor diameter of 1.2 mm. As a phase shifter at start and operation so that they differ by 90°, a capacitance of 505.51 µF is used. As a result of the winding modification, the induction motor parameter values ​​for each stator winding are the same. So the starting torque of the main and auxiliary coils is 3.89 Nm and 3.88 Nm respectively and the nominal torque produced by the main and auxiliary coils is 4.28 Nm and 4.29 Nm respectively.

Abstract

Photovoltaic is employed to support the national electricity energy blending policy as an additional component of renewable energy. Efficient energy monitoring is utilized to understand the efficiency, energy requirements, and performance of Photovoltaic. This research aims to analyze the performance of a standalone Photovoltaic system. The study considers various parameters such as PV size, load, and charge controller. Additionally, it involves designing a monitoring tool used for the analysis of Photovoltaic performance. Performance measurements are conducted by comparing Photovoltaic systems of different sizes. Furthermore, performance measurements are compared with different types of charge controllers. To assess performance, solar energy is measured at various times using a solar power meter. The solar power meter is then used to analyze the research's performance. Energy monitoring involves measuring voltage, current, power, and energy using Atmega328p. The measurement data is utilized to evaluate system efficiency and design future systems. Monitoring is carried out directly on Photovoltaic systems in the equatorial region. This research measures solar energy, energy produced by Photovoltaic systems, and energy consumed by loads. Energy monitoring focuses on observing solar and Photovoltaic energy during sunlight hours (morning-evening). The analysis results can be utilized for designing efficient Photovoltaic systems in the future..

Abstract

Load imbalance in electrical distribution transformers can lead to significant power losses and decreased efficiency in electrical distribution systems. This study focuses on the load imbalance problem at the Unicora feeder of PT PLN (Persero) ULP Singosari, which hinders optimal operational efficiency. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the extent of load imbalance, its impact on power losses, and the effectiveness of load balancing interventions in mitigating these losses. The methodology includes phase load measurements from February to September 2021, analysis of load imbalance, and power loss simulations using ETAP 12.6.0 software. The study's important findings indicate that the average load imbalance decreased from 34% to 21% after implementing load balancing interventions. Concurrently, power losses in the neutral conductor were reduced from 106.3 kW to 78.0 kW. ETAP simulations revealed a total power loss of 773.5 kW in the Unicora feeder, underscoring the significant impact of load imbalance on system efficiency. The implications of this research are crucial for operational practices at PT PLN (Persero) ULP Singosari. The findings demonstrate that effective load balancing can significantly enhance distribution efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve the reliability of electricity provision. This study advocates for continuous monitoring and adaptive management of load distribution in electrical networks to maintain optimal performance and sustainability.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan teknologi smart home system berbasis Android sebagai media pembelajaran kepada santri Pondok Pesantren Sunan Kalijogo, Jabung, Kabupaten Malang. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan peningkatan wawasan teknologi di kalangan santri untuk menghadapi era digital. Metode yang digunakan meliputi perancangan, pembuatan, dan instalasi alat peraga yang mudah dipahami dan dioperasikan. Program ini juga mencakup sesi simulasi penggunaan alat, di mana para santri diajarkan cara pengoperasian teknologi smart home seperti pengendalian lampu, CCTV, dan perangkat rumah pintar lainnya melalui aplikasi Android. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta, dengan peningkatan keterampilan teknis terkait teknologi smart home. Alat peraga yang dirancang sederhana dan terjangkau, memungkinkan santri untuk memahami konsep Internet of Things (IoT) yang relevan dengan kebutuhan teknologi masa depan.

Abstract

Nowadays, renewable energy is an important energy. This study aims to analyze the performance of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in Stand-Alone Photovoltaic (PV) systems in dealing with gradual changes in solar irradiation. The main focus of the study is the comparison between irradiaton to MPPT product. The research methodology involves the use of several types and sizes of PV to obtain representative data. Variations in solar irradiation intensity are used to simulate various real conditions. The initial objective is to assess the performance of specially designed MPPT and ensure that the system can function properly in optimizing PV power under changing irradiation conditions. The main objective is to analyze the performance of MPPT in Stand-Alone Photovoltaic systems as a whole, considering variations in PV types and sizes, as well as differences in solar irradiation levels. The results of this study are expected to provide in-depth insight into the effectiveness of MPPT under various operational conditions. Trials were conducted both in the laboratory and in the field to ensure the validity of the results. Thus, this study makes a significant contribution to the development of more reliable and efficient Stand-Alone Photovoltaic technology. The findings of this study are expected to be the basis for improving MPPT design and increasing the performance of Stand-Alone Photovoltaic systems in dealing with environmental variations and different operational conditions.

Abstract

Transformers are considered important equipment in the power distribution system. Determining the state of the distribution network loading curve a network model to analyze the impact of the rooftop PV system penetration level. The assumption of penetration is 10% - 100% and based on the amount of transformer power according to the nameplate, which is 160 kVA. The transformer that used is GTT BB1215, which is one of the distribution transformers in the PT PLN (Persero) UP3 South Surabaya. The loading curve modeling uses DIgSILENT PowerFactory 2021 software with the Quasi-Dynamic Simulation feature. Based on the average loading curve of GTT BB1215 for 14 days, there is a fluctuation, starting at 00.00 a.m - 06.00 a.m the load will decrease, the load will increase again at 06.00 a.m – 07.00 p.m, and the peak load at 06.00 p.m - 07.00 p.m with a current of 140 A (96 kW) or 60% of the transformer capacity load. The lowest load occurs at 06.00 a.m with a current of 94 A (65 kW) or 40% of the transformer capacity load. At a penetration level of 10% - 40%, the transformer load decreases significantly. However, when the penetration level exceeds 40%, there is a reverse power flow from the rooftop PV system to the transformer. This condition make the current to continue flowing even though the load on the transformer has reached 0, because the current represents the power flow from the rooftop PV system to the network, not from the customer load.

Abstract

Kecamatan Jabung memiliki penduduk dengan beragam profesi, di mana 19% bekerja sebagai petani dan peternak, berdasarkan data survei penduduk Kabupaten Malang tahun 2021. Komoditas utama peternakan di Jabung adalah sapi perah, yang mampu menghasilkan 10.000 liter susu per hari. Selain sapi perah, beberapa warga juga memelihara kambing perah. Susu kambing dikumpulkan setiap pagi dan sore, lalu disalurkan ke pabrik pengolahan melalui stasiun pengumpul yang dikelola oleh CV Amanah, yang juga bertindak sebagai distributor. Namun, warga Jabung masih menggunakan cara manual dalam memerah susu kambing, yang kadang menyebabkan kualitas susu yang dikirim ke stasiun pengumpul tidak memenuhi standar, sehingga nilai ekonominya menurun. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, dilakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui penyediaan peralatan perah bertenaga listrik portabel bagi peternak kecil di Desa Kemantren, Kecamatan Jabung. Alat ini menggunakan baterai dengan kapasitas 7 liter/jam, yang diharapkan dapat mempermudah pekerjaan memerah susu pada peternak kecil dengan aset 1-3 ekor kambing atau sapi. Pemberdayaan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan menjaga kualitas susu yang dihasilkan.
