Abstract

Desa Apitaik merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi dalam bidang peternakan, dimana ketersediaan bahan pakan lokal yang berasal dari limbah pertanian dan perikanan cukup besar. Namun saat ini peternak belum maksimal memanfaatkan limbah pertanian dan perikanan, dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan dalam pengolahan limbah menjadi pakan ternak yang berkualitas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menyampaikan informasi dan pengetahuan dalam rangka meningkatkan produktifitas dan kesehatan ternak unggas melalui pemberian pakan fermentasi dan pemanfaatan fermentor sebagai probiotik dalam air minum. Tahapan kegiatan yaitu: 1). Penyuluhan tentang sistem peternakan unggas, berbagai macam bahan pakan lokal, manfaat serta penggunaannya. 2). Pengenalan dan demonstrasi metode pengolahan bahan pakan dengan menggunakan fermentor dan penggunaan fermentor sebagai probiotik dalam air minum. 3). Diskusi menggali potensi, permasalahan, dan mencari solusi secara bersama. Selama kegiatan pengabdian, peserta menunjukkan semangat yang tinggi untuk berusaha di bidang peternakan khususnya ayam ras petelur. Nampak dari jumlah kehadiran peternak yang tinggi (31 orang), dan keaktifan peternak dalam diskusi serta lamanya diskusi (± 4 jam), serta peternak bersemangat untuk mencoba fermentor dalam pengolahan pakan. Peternak berkomitmen untuk meningkatkan produktifitas ternak dan kesehatan ternak dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian hasil fermentasi.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan untuk menyebarkan informasi, pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam usaha beternak secara mandiri berbasis bahan pakan lokal dan alternatif dan penyampaian program pembuatan Lumbung Trigona Tete Batu (Liteba). Kegiatan ini didasarkan pada potensi Desa Tetebatu sebagai daerah pertanian yang subur sehingga ketersediaan limbah pertanian melimpah dan selama ini belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal sebagai pakan ternak khususnya ternak unggas yang permasalahan utamanya pada bahan pakan yang mahal, selain itu vegetasi tanaman yang bervariasi dan melimpah menjadi sumber nektar dan pollen bagi lebah untuk menghasilkan madu. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui pemberian materi tentang managemen beternak unggas, bahan-bahan pakan lokal yang bisa dijadikan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif, dan penyampaian pembuatan ‘Liteba’ oleh mahasiswa peternakan. Khalayak sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat yang bekerja di bidang pertanian dan peternakan, pengurus desa, dan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat desa, serta kelompok pemuda desa. Kegiatan pengabdian menghasilkan peningkatan motivasi dan semangat dalam mengembangkan usaha peternakan menjadi mata pencaharian yang utama dan pengurus desa serta tokoh masyarakat desa ikut mendukung dengan menjadikan salah satu program unggulan desa selain bidang pariwisata. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi telah berdiri lumbung trigona dan telah berproduksi menghasilkan madu untuk dijual ke konsumen. Komitmen dari pemerintah daerah yang terkait menjadi penguat keberhasilan kegiatan ini.

Abstract

Pertambahan jumlah penduduk dan perkembangan suatu kota berakibat pada terjadinya permasalahan keterbatasan lahan untuk kegiatan di bidang pertanian. Kelurahan Pejeruk adalah salah satu kelurahan di Kecamatan Ampenan, Kota Mataram yang wilayahnya sudah dipenuhi oleh rumah-rumah warga sehingga tidak ada lagi area untuk kegiatan menghasilkan bahan pangan. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengisi kesenjangan itu adalah pemanfaatan pekarangan melalui konsep Rumah Pangan Lestari (RPL). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memasyarakatkan konsep RPL melalui beberapa kegiatan. Kegiatan pertama adalah sosialisasi dan penjelasan pentingnya RPL, dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi pembuatan pupuk organik (MOL). Kegiatan berikutnya adalah pembuatan plot penanaman sayuran dan tanaman obat dengan metode silvikultur dan hidroponik. Kegiatan terakhir adalah penanaman bibit mangga. Semua kegiatan berjalan lancar dan mendapat sambutan positif dari masyarakat. Hal ini terbukti dari keikutseraan dan keseriusan para kader dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga dalam setiap kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Diharapkan agar program RPL ini terus dikembangkan guna memenuhi kebutuhan sayuran maupun tanaman obat bagi keluarga yang dihasilkan di pekarangan sendiri

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Hermetia illucens maggot in feed on the internal and external quality of broiler eggs.The study used 80 laying hens aged 6 months which were divided into 4 treatments, 5 replications and each replication consisted of 4 tails. The variables observed were the external quality of eggs (egg weight, egg shape index, shell thickness, egg shell weight) and internal eggs (egg white index, yolk index, egg Haugh units, egg yolk color). The data obtained were analyzed with a completely randomized design. The average results of egg weight ranged from 56.18 g/egg - 56.98 g/egg, egg shape index between 73.91-80.54%, egg shell thickness between 0.35 mm – 0.38 mm, weight egg shells between 6.97 g/egg - 7.15 g/egg . While the egg white index ranged from 0.10 to 0.14, the yolk index ranged from 0.39 to 0.45, the Haugh unit ranged from 84.50 to 99.30, the yolk color ranged from 8.50 to 10.60. It was concluded that the use of Hermetia Illucens maggot 5%, 10%, 15% in feed resulted in external and internal quality of chicken eggs in the normal range.

Abstract

Kabupaten Lombok Utara (KLU) adalah Kabupaten termuda di NTB yang mempunyai jumlah penduduk miskin mencapai 43,14%. Sebelum gempa keberhasilan KLU mengentaskan gizi buruk di Genggelang, Kecamatan Gangga, khususnya kelompok ternak “Kerta Bangkit” berhasil meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga peternak dari pejualan susu kambing, anak kambing dan kotoran kambing PE yang dipeliharanya. Namun setelah gempa pendapatan peternak dari hasil pemeliharaan kambing PE terhenti bahkan sebagian peternak menjual ternaknya karena tidak sempat mengurusnya. Hal ini mendorong staf Lab. Ternak Perah untuk melakukan perbaikan kembali keadaan peternak khususnya “Kelompok Ternak Kambing PE Kerta Bangkit” dengan memotivasi peternak untuk memelihara dan memerah kambingnya kembali dengan memberikan pelatihan “Manajemen Pemerahan Dan Penanganan Kesehatan Kambing Peranakan Ettawa Untuk Memperoleh Susu Yang Higienis”, dengan mengajak peternak Studi banding ke Peternaka “Gopala” dan sekaligus memberikan pelatihan secara langsung tentang system pemerahan yang baik dan bersih dan penanganan manajemen kesehatan yang tepat dengan mempraktikan langsung pada kambing yang ada di Peternakan Kambing “Gopala” di Kuranji LOBAR.. Kelompok ini masih memerlukan bimbingan teknik pemeliharan kambing perah agar dapat meningkatkan kembali status gizi mereka seperti tahun sebelumnya. Desa ini merupakan desa binaan khusus dari Lab Ternak Perah Fakultas Peternakan, UNRAM, dengan bekerja sama dengan mahasiswa Fakultas Peternakan yang berasal dari KLU, dengan mengirim kembali mereka untuk melakukan PKL dan penelitian (S1 dan S2) di tempat kelompok ternak ini dengan harapan mereka lebih bersemangat lagi, sehingga pendapatan mereka kembali meningkat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dikatakan berhasil karena antosiasme dan partisipasi peserta sangat baik, dan mereka melaksanakan dan mempraktikkan keterampilan yang sudah diperoleh selama mengikuti pelatihan, bahkan beberapa diantara mereka melakukan kontak via telpon maupun SMS untuk menanyakan hal-hal berkaitan dengan manajemen pemeliharaan kambing perah.

Abstract

The ducklings of the Mong Glemong livestock group were obtained from self-breeding results from local mating of local ducks, so that the productivity of the breeds was still low. In order to obtain good quality ducklings, breeders have difficulty because of the NTB Governor's Decree No. 94 and No. 99 of 2007 concerning control of poultry traffic, especially concerning the prohibition of the entry of poultry originating from areas infected with avian influenza viruses such as Bali. To improve the quality of laying ducks through breeding technology in the Mong Glemong livestock group, Dasan Cermen Village, Mataram. Method: The approach to realizing the program is a participatory method, that is, each activity is carried out jointly with partners. Participation of partners in program activities is to provide locations where activities are carried out and participate in all programmed activities, while the proposer provides the necessary duck seeds and feed as well as technical guidance. Result: The program that has been designed together with group members is running well, and the benefits have been felt very positively by the group. The results obtained include the availability of special nursery cages for each group member, 2). Availability of hatching room for duck eggs in groups, 3). Availability of adequate incubator to incubate eggs. Conclusion: Currently, duck breeders in the "Mong Glemong" livestock group can produce good hatching eggs and ducklings.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical and chemical quality of maggot cultivated by farmers on the island of Lombok using different feed media. The research was conducted in 2 tages, namely: Phase I. Observation of 5 locations of maggot farms on Lombok Island with a production scale of at least 5 kg per week. The parameters observed were the type of feed used, production scale, body weight and body length of maggot per head. Stage II. Analisis of the nutritional quality of feed and maggot media using the Proximate analysis method. Parameters observed were water content, ash content, crude protein, crude fat, and crude fiber. The data collected were tabulated and discussed descriptively. The results showed that there were 4 TPS locations and 1 quail farm location which was assisted with maggot cultivation with a maggot production scale of 7-350 kg per week. The lowest production scale is at the location of the quail farm using quail manure and the highest scale is at the TPS location Ds. Sengkol using kitchen waste as feed media, expired milk, coconut dregs, and banan stems. The protein content of the feed media that had been converted by maggot ranged from 4.51-24.64% and the maggot content produced ranged from 23.0-42.45%, the highest at quail Farm Puyung village which uses quail waste media. The conclusion of this study that the use of quail waste media as a feed medium resulted in the best quality of maggot.

Abstract

Community service activities aim to socialize kitchen organic waste management that can be done at the household level. This socialization activity was carried out at the request of a village youth leader who hoped to solve the problem of the accumulation of vegetable and fruit waste in Sembalun Timba Gading Village. The targets of community service activities are youth leaders, community leaders, and village officials. The socialization of organic waste management begins with dissemination of sorting kitchen organic waste (s.o.d) and continues with socialization on processing s.o.d. using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot. This processing technology will solve the problem of household waste and unsold vegetable and fruit waste and increase people's income by producing products in the form of commercial maggot and used maggot (kasgot). Maggot products can be used as poultry and fish feed, while cassava can be used as organic fertilizer for rice fields, plantations and horticultural crops. The socialization activity was enthusiastically attended by village administrators and youth of Sembalun Timba Galih Village (about 25 people). Service participants will follow up on this activity by making a proposal for a training program for organic waste processing using BSF maggot in order to create environmental cleanliness in tourist areas such as Sembalun Timba Gading Village. Community service activities resulted in an increase in knowledge, attitudes, and enthusiasm for the administrators and youth of Sembalun Timba Gading Village in solving waste problems and committed to working together synergistically with academics to carry out organic waste management training in the next Sembalun Timba Gading Village.

Abstract

The research aimed at determaining the effect of giving papaya leaves on the digestibility of feed nutrients and the performance of Joper chikens has been carried out at the Teaching Farm of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unram Lingsar, Lingsar District, West Lombok. 100 Joper chickens aged 1 week were grouped into 5 treatment groups (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) each group consisting of 4 replicates, each repetition consisting of 5 individuals. The feed given was CP511B and CP512B complete feed with a protein content of 18-19% and papaya leaves were given through drinking water in the form of juice. Each treatment was given papaya leaf juice as much as 5 ml/liter of drinking water (P1), 8 ml/liter of drinking water (P2), 11 ml/liter of drinking water (P3), 14ml/liter of drinking water (P4) and drinking water without papaya leaf juice ( P0) adlibitum. The variables measured were feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion. crude protein digestibility, crude fiber digestibility. Research data were analyzed by analysis of variance on the basis of a completely randomized design. The results of the study showed, feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, crude protein digestibility, crude fiber digestibility of the five treatments was not significantly different (P>0.05). Beconcluded that determain of papaya leaf juice through drinking water up to 14 ml/liter of drinking water did not affect feed consumption, crude protein digestibility, crude fiber digestibility, body weight gain and feed conversion of Joper Chickens.

Abstract

Broiler chickens are good genetic quality as seen from their fairly fast growth. An intensive and controlled cage system can be found in the closed house cage system. Based on the research, the average weight of harvested chickens is not uneven, possibly unequal distribution of fresh air entering through the inlet. This research aims to determine the effect of maintenance distance from the cooling pad on the average body weight growth of broiler chickens kept in closed house cages with a size of 98 X 14 m. as many as 16,000 broiler chickens of the CP 207 strain are randomly allocated into 4 groups or flocks. The distance of flocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 from the cooling pad is 0 -24.5, 24.6 - 49.5 and 49.6 - 73.5, and 73.6 - 98m respectively. The results showed a marked difference (P<0.05) in final body weight. The highest body weight was obtained at the closest distance to the cooling pad and the lowest weight was obtained in the chicken that was in the flock farthest from the cooolig pad. It was concluded that the chicken's body weight is lower the farther the flock is from the cooling pad.
