Abstract

Recommender systems have become essential in the digital era to help users navigate overwhelming content. This study develops a book recommendation system using three collaborative filtering methods: user-based, item-based, and matrix factorization using singular value decomposition. We evaluate the system on a real-world dataset of 1,149,780 book ratings from 278,858 users across 271,360 books. A subset of 500 active users is used for experimental evaluation. The models are assessed using root mean square error and mean absolute error to measure rating prediction accuracy. The results show that the item-based collaborative filtering method achieves the best accuracy (root mean square error 7.362; mean absolute error 6.761), slightly outperforming the user-based approach (7.365; 6.809) and the matrix factorization method (7.643; 7.413). We analyze the results to understand the performance differences, noting the stability of item similarity as a key factor and the need for optimal tuning in the matrix factorization model. In conclusion, item-based collaborative filtering proved most effective for this context. This work provides insights into the comparative performance of foundational recommendation techniques and highlights practical considerations for improving book recommender systems.

Abstract

The tourism potential of Luwuk Banggai is constrained by the lack of comprehensive and interactive information. Limited data on destinations, routes, and personalized guidance reduces the overall tourist experience. AI and WebGIS technologies offer innovative solutions for building a smarter tourism ecosystem. This study designed and implemented a smart tourism system in Luwuk Banggai by integrating an interactive AI assistant and WebGIS. The objective is to enhance the tourist experience through accurate information, personalized recommendations, intuitive visualizations, and to support tourism managers in decision-making. A system development approach was employed, beginning with needs analysis and literature review. The design involved a modular architecture an AI module for natural language interaction and a WebGIS module for spatial visualization. The implementation utilized modern web technologies with a responsive user interface and a structured database. System testing was conducted using black box testing to assess functionality and reliability. The developed smart tourism system successfully integrated an AI assistant capable of answering questions and providing recommendations, alongside an interactive WebGIS that displays locations and routes. Testing results indicated that the system operated according to specifications, improving both information access and interactivity. The integration of the AI assistant and WebGIS within the Luwuk Banggai smart tourism system effectively enhances the tourist experience and the efficiency of tourism information management. This system contributes to sustainable tourism and opens opportunities for future service personalization and spatial data analytics

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the community's reception of Quranic verses in Klino Village, Sekar District, Bojonegoro Regency, within the Nyadran tradition, as well as the Quranic values ​​integrated within it. Using the Living Quran approach, this study examines how the Quranic text is not only understood normatively but also lived and internalized in local cultural practices, such as the Nyadran tradition. The study employed qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach through observation, interviews, and documentation of Nyadran activities, which were then analyzed using content analysis. The results show that the community interprets Nyadran as a form of worship and respect grounded in Islamic spiritual values. The recitation of Surah Yasin, the tahlil prayer, and the tumpeng symbol are interpreted as expressions of gratitude and strengthening shared spirituality. The Nyadran tradition reflects Quranic values ​​such as brotherhood, gratitude, reverence, and social concern. Thus, this tradition is not just a cultural practice, but a real representation of the Living Qur'an which harmonizes Islamic values ​​and local wisdom in people's lives. Abstract

Muara Kaman merupakan salah satu daerah yang dialiri oleh Sungai Mahakam. Beberapa masyarakat Muara Kaman berprofesi sebagai nelayan oleh sebab itu peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti penamaan alat menangkap ikan yang digunakan masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana bentuk, makna dan fungsi serta nilai budaya pada penamaan alat menangkap ikan pada masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan tentang alat menangkap ikan dalam masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 14 Mei 2024-17 Mei 2024 yang berlokasi di Muara Kaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam penelitian penamaan alat menangkap ikan pada masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman terdapat 12 data nama alat menangkap ikan pada masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman. 12 data tersebut terdapat empat pola yang muncul yakni Nama Alat (NA), Nama alat dan Nama ikan (NA+NI), Nama Alat dan Tempat (NA+T), Nama Alat, Nama Ikan, dan ukuran ikan (NA+NI+UI). Terdapat dua fungsi yakni fungsi estetik dan fungsi informasional dalam penamaan alat menangkap ikan pada masyarakat Kutai di Muara Kaman serta nilai budaya yaitu nilai kesejahteraan, nilai kerja keras, nilai disiplin, nilai pelestarian dan kreativitas budaya, dan nilai peduli lingkungan.
