Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) and achievement motivation on affective commitment to employees of the education service sector in Bandung. Previous research has shown that delegative leadership consisting of competency readiness, quality of time together, suitability of goals, level of job position, and quality of superior-subordinate relationship (LMX) has affected achievement motivation and continuous commitment. However, after more profound analysis of partial parameters, it turns out that only job position and LMX affect achievement motivation significantly, and only in terms of goal compatibility significantly affect continuance commitment. This situation demands to conduct further research on leadership. On the other hand, previous research shows that LMX does not significantly affect continuance commitment. Therefore, the affective commitment chose to investigate whether it will be significantly affected and improved by LMX simultaneously and partially with parameters. Therefore, achievement motivation was selected and appointed as the focus of research to find out and analyze its effect more deeply on the affective commitment that previous researchers had developed. As a result, there is a significant direct effect of LMX on the affective commitment by 17.2%. Furthermore, there is an indirect effect of LMX through achievement motivation on the affective commitment of 12.3%, so the total direct and indirect effect of LMX on affective commitment is 29.6%. Likewise, there is a significant direct effect of achievement motivation on the affective commitment by 23.8%, and there is an indirect effect of achievement motivation through LMX on the affective commitment of 12.3% so that the total direct and indirect effect of achievement motivation on affective commitment is equal to 36.1%. Then the total effect of LMX and achievement motivation on affective commitment is 65.7%. So, if LMX and achievement motivation are more effective on the job, it will increase affective commitment. Keywords : Leader-Member Exchange, Achievement Motivation, Affective Commitment.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of delegative leadership on achievement motivation and continuous commitment. Base on previous studies prove that delegative leadership is part of the situational leadership style, but generally, this delegative leadership use approach through traits, behaviors, how, processes, and situation. In this study, it is using instruments based predictors that determine the delegation, which has been validated and replicated right on this study and can use in the area of Bandung. Likewise, this research proves that achievement motivation that adopts from the Mcclelland achievement motivation instrument and examines the continuous commitment taken from Allen & Meyer can be replicated. In the first phase correlation analysis to the delegation, competence, fitness for purpose, time together, the level of work and LMX were significant predictors of delegation, at the second stage of the analysis of the correlation between leadership delegative, achievement motivation and commitment continuous show the relationship that significant. Still, partial report on continuous commitment does not have the support of the relationship from competence and sharing time. In the third stage, the (simultaneous) regression analysis on delegative leadership significantly influences achievement motivation, but only receives positive and significant support from the level of work and LMX. Likewise, in the fourth stage, the regression analysis on delegative (simultaneous) leadership had a substantial effect on continuous commitment, but only partially received positive and significant support from the conformity of the objectives. Therefore the findings in this study are leadership will be more productive with a delegative approach on the level of work and LMX to increase achievement motivation while increasing the continuous commitment of the leadership of the delegative, namely by making approaches to the fitness for purpose.

Abstract

This study sought to evaluate the influence of Service Quality and Brand Image on Customer Satisfaction at a fast-food restaurant in Bandung. This study utilizes a quantitative methodology with multiple linear regression techniques (path analysis) to investigate the relationships among variables. The research sample was obtained using the Slovin method, resulting in 84 participants from the restaurant's clientele. Data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire to evaluate respondents' perceptions of service quality, brand image, and customer satisfaction. The data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23.0 to evaluate validity, reliability, and inter-variable correlations in this study. The results revealed that the average total Service Quality was 2.70, classifying it as "Quite Good." Brand Image has an average score of 2.72, categorizing it as "Quite Good." The average Customer Satisfaction is 2.65, categorized as "Quite Good." Subsequent statistical analysis reveals that Service Quality significantly impacts Customer Satisfaction, suggesting that enhancements in service quality are associated with elevated levels of customer satisfaction. Brand Image significantly impacts Customer satisfaction, indicating that a more positive brand image in customers' perceptions is associated with higher satisfaction with the restaurant. A further analysis indicates that the Correlation Coefficient is 0.546, showing a moderately strong relationship between Service Quality and Brand Customer Satisfaction. The direct effect of Service Quality and Brand Image on Customer Satisfaction is 0.143, while the indirect effect is 0.327, yielding a cumulative effect of 0.470. Thus, both Service Quality and Brand Image substantially affect Customer Satisfaction in the fast-food outlets analyzed. This suggests that to improve customer satisfaction, restaurants must raise service quality and strengthen their brand image to align with consumer expectations.
