Abstract

This study aims to describe the violence in the Bible that frames the portrait of people's journey, encounter and association with God. Traces of blood, traces of domination, and traces of discrimination are the things that characterize the biblical narrative. Its presence in the Bible often makes it a reference to legitimize violence or also makes the congregation confused in understanding God and his intentions. In addition, this study also seeks to understand God's intention so that readers can eliminate or at least obscure the topic of violence as an effort of theodicy. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through unstructured interviews and literature study. Based on the research results obtained from the congregation's answers regarding the understanding of violent texts, it is illustrated that the congregation is still conceptualized on the dominant understanding as the result of standard dogmatic interpretations that have been passed down for so long. It is inherent as a standard paradigm for the congregation. The congregation prefers to see it from a wider angle so that taboos and unusual things that appear in the text can be marginalized. The results of the congregation's reading of violent texts became the entry point for this research effort to deconstruct these texts. This deconstruction effort is a contribution of creative critical thinking to the repertoire of people's understanding of violent texts in the Bible. This research is expected to be able to build awareness that claims of violence in the Bible are one-sided claims that ignore the merits of the biblical text and the laws of the Bible comprehensively. In addition, the results of this study have implications for children's education as an effort to provide an understanding of violence in the Bible, so that they can understand God's intent in texts with nuances of violence in the Bible. In fact, they can understand the negative impact of acts of violence.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan pendeta sangat berperan penting bagi keaktifan jemaat dalam ibadah, karena kepemimpinan pendeta memberikan dorongan, motivasi, menggerakan, mengontrol dan lebih penting lagi bahwa seorang pendeta hedaknya dapat menyinarkan Injil dalam jemaat dan di lingkungan masyarakat. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan kajian terhadap berbagai sumber Pustaka. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sumber literatur yang berkenaan dengan teori-teori yang relevan dengan masalah yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kepemimpinan pendeta merupakan sebuah panggilan khusus dari Tuhan yang bertujuan untuk memperlengkapi kehidupan iman warga jemaat untuk membangun kedewasaan iman. Kaitannya dengan keaktifan dalam ibadah, pendeta sangat berperan di dalam keaktifan jemaat di dalam ibadah. Motivasi yang diberikan oleh pendeta kepada jemaat sangat membantu jemaat untuk aktif di dalam ibadah.

Abstract

This research aims to improve HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) in learning Indonesian through the Problem Based Learning Model at IAKN Manado. This research uses descriptive qualitative analytic method. Based on the research results obtained (1) Problem-based learning model (PBM) is a learning model that requires students to think critically and creatively in answering or solving problems related to learning Indonesian language. The problem is related to language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, but is more focused on productive skills, which are speaking and writing. In applying this model, students become active, creative, and critical in solving problems. (2) Critical and creative attitude in solving problems in learning Indonesian language can directly improve the high-level thinking skills (HOTS) of IAKN Manado students. That means HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) or the ability to think at a higher level is one of the skills or abilities that students need to have in finding solutions to the problems offered in learning Indonesian language. Problem Based Learning Model is one of the learning models that can improve HOTS. Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis related to the development of student ability as evidenced by the initial test, test cycle 1, and test cycle 2. In the initial test, the score is dominated by score 1 with an interval of 0-39 reached a percentage of 48%, while a score 4 with an interval of 85-100 reached 0%. At the end of cycle 1, an increase in score 4, which increased to 15%, while score 1 decreased to 7% and the same result applies to the end value of cycle 2. In cycle 2 the score 4 continued to increase and reached a percentage of 30%. The data shows that the application of the problem based learning model in the Indonesian Language course at IAKN Manado was able to improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS). Suggestions: 1) Problem-based learning model is able to encourage students to develop and improve critical and creative thinking skills in efforts to solve problems. This shows that the application of problem based learning model can improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS). 2) Problem-based learning model is able to improve the ability to think at a higher level (HOTS) which is portrayed through an increasingly critical and creative way of thinking and encourage all the potentials in students. In addition, problem-based learning can increase the courage of students so that they are automatically active in learning activities. Problem-based learning model can be used in learning Indonesian language and other subjects as well.

Abstract

Program KKN mahasiswa IAKN Manado dalam bentuk bimbingan belajar bertujuan untuk membantu peserta didik yang sudah lama tidak belajar secara tatap muka langsung, boleh memahami materi pembelajaran secara lebih baik, khususnya dalam mata pelajaran PAK dan Budi Pekerti. Dengan cara meningkatkan motivasi, minat belajar, keaktifan, serta rajin dalam membuat tugas, melalui pendekatan pembelajaran homemaking, metode pembelajaran ceramah, tanya jawab, dan pemberian tugas. Metode yang digunakan dalam dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini dipeoroleh melalui observasi dan kepustakaan. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis bimbingan belajar PAK dan Budi Pekerti yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Likupang Selatan, khususnya bagi peserta didik kelas 7 dan 8. Hasil dari penelitian dan pengabdian ini adalah beberapa peserta didik yang sebelumnya kurang memahami materi, malas atau tidak mau mengerjakan tugas, menjadi lebih memahami materi dan semakin rajin dalam mengerjakan tugas. Berdasarkan hal di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan, metode, dan media pembelajaran yang diterapkan cukup efektif dan berhasil untuk membuat peserta didik di kelas lebih memahami materi pembelajaran secara lebih baik, meningkatkan motivasi, minat belajar, keaktifan, serta rajin dalam mengerjakan dan memasukan tugas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan aktivitas penambangan pasir liar di Sungai Ranoyapo dan dampaknya bagi lingkungan, serta mendeskripsikan peran pemerintah dan gereja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berbentuk observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa proses penambangan pasir di Sungai Ranoyapo tidak sesuai aturan pemerintah, sehingga menyebabkan  kerusakan ekosistem di Sungai Ranoyapo. Selain itu, dampak lain yang muncul, yaitu kondisi jembatan Ranoyapo yang rusak, karena tiang jembatan bagian tengah sudah menjorok ke dalam sungai. Pemerintah dan gereja telah berupaya menghentikan kegiatan penambangan pasir liar di Sungai Ranoyapo, tetapi upaya tersebut tidak membuahkan hasil, karena masyarakat yang telah menggantungkan hidupnya lewat penghasilan menambang pasir di sungai tersebut. Lewat penelitian ini, diharapkan dapat membuka cara berpikir jemaat, GMIM Tesalonika Buyungon, khususnya para penambang pasir untuk mengolah sumber daya alam dengan benar dan menempatkan diri dalam tugas tanggung jawab yang diberikan Allah untuk menjaga dan melindungi alam. Selain itu, gereja akan semakin maksimal dalam mendukung program yang berhubungan dengan kelestarian lingkungan hidup.

Abstract

The study aims to examine the distribution of questions in the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) category on the comprehensive examination of the Biblical Major at the IAKN Manado Theology Study Program, with the indicator for the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions based on the revised Bloom's Taxonomy. A descriptive method with a qualitative approach was applied. Data which was sourced from the comprehensive examination of Biblical Major at Theology Study Program of IAKN Manado, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman, including data condensation, data display, verification, and conclusion. Analysis of questions was according to the revised Bloom's Taxonomy by Anderson & Krathwohl (2001). The results indicated that the comprehensive examination questions of Biblical majors at the Theology Study Program were taken from 15 courses with a total of 100 questions. Of the 100 questions, it was found that 9 courses contained HOTS questions and 6 courses contained questions classified in the MOTS and LOTS categories. Specifically, the percentages in each cognitive level were as follows, C6 at 1%, C5 at 16%, C4 at 23%, C3 at 38%, C2 at 8% and C1 at 14%. Thus, the HOTs level achieved 40%, the MOTS level reached 38%, while the LOTS level got 22%. It was concluded that the comprehensive examination questions of the Biblical Major at the Theology Study Program of IAKN Manado were dominated by the HOTS questions, although they were not evenly distributed in all questions of the subjects tested. The results of this study can be used as a reference in the preparation of exam questions for all subjects, so that the test administrator team or educators can determine the quality of each question made. Furthermore, the test administrators will also be able to map the categories of questions based on HOTS, MOTS, and LOTS, therefore the exam questions quality can be improved which affects the increase of students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS).

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menyelidiki strategi pembentukan karakter anak usia dini melalui ibadah sekolah Minggu. Melalui ibadah sekolah minggu, anak-anak belajar nilai-nilai moral dan spiritual yang dikemas dalam bentuk ibadah anak. Pendidikan karakter adalah proses pengajaran nilai-nilai, etika, moral, dan kepribadian yang bertujuan untuk membantu anak-anak dalam membuat keputusan yang tepat tentang apa yang baik dan buruk, menjaga hal-hal yang baik, serta menerapkan kebaikan tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan penuh komitmen. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat beberapa strategi yang dapat dilakukan, yaitu: 1) Pembelajaran Firman Tuhan melalui Alkitab, 2) Kegiatan Ibadah Interaktif, 3) Kegiatan Penjangkauan, 4) Teladan Positif, 5) Kolaborasi dengan Orang Tua, 6) Bimbingan dan Dukungan yang Konsisten. Kesimpulannya yaitu pembentukan karakter anak usia dini merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak. Salah satu strategi yang efektif untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut melalui kegiatan ibadah sekolah minggu. Ibadah sekolah minggu tidak hanya memberikan pengetahuan agama tetapi juga menanamkan pendidikan karakter yang dapat menjadi pondasi penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari anak usia dini.

Abstract

The book of Acts emphasises the active role of the Holy Spirit in the development of the early church. One of the phrases that is explicitly repeated in the narrative is the phrase "Full of the Holy Spirit", especially in the narrative of the character Stephen in Acts 6-7. This study aims to analyse the function of the phrase as part of the author's speech acts in shaping Stephen's character and spiritual authority. Using a qualitative method and a pragmatic linguistic approach, particularly Austin and Searle's theories of speech acts (locution, illocution, and perlocution), this study will explore how the phrase functions not only as a literal description, but also as the author's communicative and rhetorical strategy. The research shows that the repetition of the phrase strategically constructs the image of Stephen as a figure who acts on the basis of divine authority, while leading historical and contemporary readers to reinterpret the source of true spiritual authority. Thus, this study shows how the choice of diction in the Bible has played an active role in shaping the reader's view of the character and the narrative dynamics of the text.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious issue that affects the well-being and development of children in schools. The impact of bullying on students can have negative effects on their psychological and academic well-being, as well as affecting their social relationships and self-confidence. Researchers used a descriptive qualitative method. Researchers determined the sample, then data collection was carried out using interview techniques, observation, and document studies with the aim of obtaining comprehensive data. After that, the researchers analyzed the data by data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results found that bullying occurs at Koha Christian Junior High School in various forms, especially verbal bullying. The impact of bullying on students includes psychological, academic, and social problems. Teachers have made various efforts to address bullying, including providing support and guidance to students, enforcing school rules, and working with parents. This research concludes that appropriate and planned strategies from the school, especially teachers, are crucial in addressing bullying issues in schools, and some concrete efforts that schools can make to address bullying include introducing and educating Christian values, collaborating with parents, enforcing school rules, emphasizing the reiteration of PERMENDIKBUD UU No. 82 of 2015, and establishing a complaint and monitoring center.

Abstract

Learning management is a crucial strategy for enhancing educational services, particularly for out-of-school children. This study focuses on the Dinding community in Manado, which faces significant challenges in accessing education. The objective of this research is to analyze the learning management strategies that can be implemented in the non-formal education setting of the Dinding community. The research employs a qualitative methodology utilizing interviews and observations. The findings indicate that, although the Dinding community serves as a non-formal educational platform, learning management and classroom management are not markedly different from those in formal education. Each learning session concludes with an evaluation to assess the achievement of learning objectives, identify challenges faced, and collaboratively discuss potential solutions. Evaluations are conducted with the involvement of the teaching staff present at the time. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of adaptive and collaborative learning management as a strategic effort to provide better educational services for children in underserved communities. Recommendations are intended to offer insights for policymakers in designing inclusive and sustainable educational programs.
