Abstract

The accumulation of durian peel waste has become an environmental problem due to its large volume and limited utilization, while energy demand continues to increase. This study aims to examine the potential of durian peel waste as a raw material for charcoal briquettes as an alternative and environmentally friendly fuel. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with observational and literature study approaches. The research process involved observing the stages of briquette production, including drying, carbonization, grinding, mixing with a binder, molding, and drying. The results showed that durian peel waste could be processed into charcoal briquettes with good physical characteristics, such as compact structure, uniform shape, and sufficient durability. The produced briquettes were able to ignite easily and generate stable heat, indicating their potential use as an alternative household fuel. This study concludes that utilizing durian peel waste into charcoal briquettes can reduce biomass waste and provide added value as a renewable energy source. Further studies are recommended to conduct quantitative laboratory testing to improve product quality and assess its feasibility for larger-scale production.

Abstract

Flooding increases the risk of waterborne infectious diseases, including diarrhea, especially in densely populated environments such as Islamic boarding schools. The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors (PHBS) is an important strategy in preventing diarrhea after flooding. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PHBS in efforts to prevent diarrhea among students at the Sejahtera Islamic Boarding School after flooding. The method used in this study was a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach conducted on 50 students using total sampling techniques. Data analysis used descriptive 2 statistics and the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of students implemented PHBS well in terms of hand washing (96%), use of clean water (90%), and consumption of healthy food (78%). However, 42% of students still experienced diarrhea after the flood. Bivariate analysis showed no significant relationship between the three components of PHBS and the incidence of diarrhea (p>0.05). Although the implementation of PHBS by students was in the good category, the incidence of diarrhea still occurred in some respondents, indicating the need for a comprehensive approach involving improvements in environmental sanitation and consistent improvement in the quality of PHBS implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemanfaatan koagulanPoly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) dalam proses koagulasi–flokulasi untukmenurunkan kekeruhan air baku. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalaheksperimen deskriptif dengan tahapan koagulasi, flokulasi, dan sedimentasimenggunakan PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) sebagai koagulan, dimana PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) yang sudah dilarutkan dituangkan kedalam air bakudengan konsentrasi PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) sekitar ±1%, kemudiandilakukan pengadukan selama 10 menit dan didiamkan kurang lebih 1 jam agar koagulan tersebar merata dan menetralkan muatan partikel koloid penyebabkekeruhan. Partikel yang telah ternetralisasi kemudian saling bergabungmembentuk flok pada tahap flokulasi, lalu flok yang terbentuk mengendap pada tahap sedimentasi. Pengamatan dilakukan secara visual terhadap perubahankekeruhan, pembentukan flok, dan proses pengendapan. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa penambahan PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) mampumembentuk flok yang lebih besar dan stabil serta menghasilkan pemisahan yang jelas antara air jernih dan endapan, sehingga kekeruhan air berkurang secarasignifikan dibandingkan kondisi awal.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Logam berat Pb dan Fe dalam air sumur rumah tangga dapat menurunkan kualitas air dan berpotensi menimbulkan risiko kesehatan, sehingga memerlukan metode pengolahan sederhana menggunakan bahan alami. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas berbagai berat bubuk cangkang telur dan zeolit sebagai media adsorben alami untuk meningkatkan kualitas fisik air sumur yang terkontaminasi logam berat Pb dan Fe. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain eksperimental sederhana melalui sistem filtrasi gravitasi dengan kombinasi bubuk cangkang telur dan batu zeolit dengan variasi berat masing-masing 1,1 g, 2,2 g, dan 3,3 g. Pengamatan dilakukan secara organoleptik dan menggunakan indikator kantong teh sebelum dan setelah pengolahan. Hasil: Peningkatan berat media adsorben berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kualitas fisik air, yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kejernihan air, penurunan bau logam, pengurangan endapan, dan warna reaksi teh yang lebih cerah pada berat media tertinggi. Kesimpulan: Berat yang berbeda dari bubuk cangkang telur dan zeolit secara kualitatif bervariasi dalam kinerja proses filtrasi, di mana berat adsorben yang lebih besar menunjukkan hasil filtrasi yang lebih optimal untuk indikator logam berat dalam air sumur.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Sisa buah dari aktivitas rumah tangga merupakan sampah organik yang berpotensi menimbulkan dampak lingkungan apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik. Salah satu alternatif pengelolaan ramah lingkungan yang dapat dilakukan adalah mengolah limbah tersebut menjadi eco-enzim. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan proses pengolahan limbah sisa buah menjadi eco-enzim serta mengkaji potensinya sebagai bahan dasar parfum ramah lingkungan. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui eksperimen sederhana dengan proses fermentasi limbah buah, gula, dan air pada perbandingan 3:1:10 selama ±90 hari pada suhu ruang. Data diperoleh melalui observasi warna, aroma, dan pH eco-enzim, serta aroma parfum hasil formulasi. Hasil: Eco-enzim yang dihasilkan berwarna cokelat kekuningan, memiliki aroma asam khas, dan berada pada kisaran pH 3–4. Formulasi parfum berbahan eco-enzim menghasilkan aroma alami dengan intensitas ringan hingga sedang. Kesimpulan: Pemanfaatan eco-enzim dari limbah sisa buah berkontribusi terhadap pengurangan sampah, mendukung prinsip zero waste, serta memiliki potensi pengembangan produk berkelanjutan bernilai ekonomi dan ekologis.

Abstract

Fishermen are a group of humans who put their hope in the product of the sea. Fatigue experienced by fishermen can result in reduced performance and loss of security, thus endangering the fishermen and others. This literature study aims to obtain information and analyze a burgeoning article with potential work exhaustion against fishermen's work accidents. The methods used to collect information are the methods of literature view through online media sources such as Mendeley, Google Schoolar, publication or publication, and other online media. Based on the articles already collected results, there's a factor contributing to work accidents for fishermen, one of which is work fatigue. Fatigue can cause a drop in awareness of safety and health at work for fishermen and psychosomatic abilities. Fishermen who worked in tired conditions were more likely to have work accidents.

Abstract

The work environment on stress levels and employee productivity are interrelated and significant things. A comfortable and supportive work environment can increase productivity and reduce stress. The aim of this literature study is to obtain information and analyze articles that influence the work environment on stress levels and employee productivity. The method used to collect information is literature view methodology through sources from online media such as Mendeley, Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, and other online media. Based on the articles that have been collected, the results show that there are factors that contribute to the work environment. A comfortable work environment has a big influence on employee productivity, conversely, if the work environment is not conducive it will be the cause of decreased employee productivity

Abstract

Puskesmas is a formal sector that is very likely to occur in the event of a fire disaster.  Workers who work in the formal sector such as puskesmas have a lurking threat that can pose a risk to their work environment. Anticipation of K3 Emergency Response (Occupational Safety and Health) is mandatory. So, it is important for puskesmas to implement K3 and prepare emergency response that can prevent disasters such as fire. The purpose of this article is to find out the analysis of the anticipation of puskesmas on fire disaster emergency response.  The method used to collect information is the literature view methodology through sources from online media such as Mendeley, Google Schoolar, Publish or Perish, and other online media. Based on articles that have been collected from 14 analyzed articles. The results of the literature study analysis were obtained that the human resources of most puskesmas already have a special disaster emergency response team, for the budget using funds from the puskesmas, then in facilities and infrastructure some are sufficient such as alarms, fire detectors, and evacuation support. Anticipation of fires in each puskesmas has carried out the standards of the Ministry of Health.

Abstract

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a set of equipment used by workers to protect all or part of their bodies from potential dangers or accidents that may occur in the workplace. Due to the importance of PPE for workers and the high number of work accidents due to non-compliance in using PPE, it is necessary to study the behavior of workers in using PPE in the construction sector. The aim of this research is to find out what factors cause workers' non-compliance with the use of personal protective equipment in the construction sector. This research is a literature review with data collection methods and using library research. Literature study was carried out by searching for data from published articles or national journals related to the keywords of this research for analysis by accessing the database on Google Scholar, then the data was filtered again based on title, abstract and content that was appropriate to the research. The criteria for selected articles are published 2020-2024, indexed by Google Scholar, indexed nationally and internationally, and indexed by students. The results of the literature study show that there are three factors that cause workers' non-compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment in the construction sector, namely education and knowledge, comfort of personal protective equipment and regulations and supervision.
