Abstract

ABSTRACT In order to achieve success in college, students need to have fine adjustment skills. This study aims to describe college adjustment and subjective well being in freshman, as well as the relationship between those two variables. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design, which was conducted on 171 freshman of class 2022 at Malahayati University. The researc instrument used in this study were Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) to measure college adjusment and  the College Student Subjective Well Being Questionnaire (CSSWQ) to measure subjective well being. The data in the study were analyzed using Pearson’s correllation. The result of this study indicate that most students have moderate college adjustment and subjective wellbeing. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation was found between college student subjective well being and college adjustment, where there was a 15,4% variance of college adjustment that could be explained by college student subjective well being. Implication of this study is that subjective well being plays a significant role in adjustment to college life on freshman. Keyword: College Adjustment, Subjective Well Being, Freshman  ABSTRAK Untuk mencapai kesuksesan dalam belajar di perguruan tinggi mahasiswa perlu memiliki kemampuan penyesuaian diri yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran penyesuaian diri dan kesejahteraan subjektif mahasiswa baru, serta hubungan dari keduanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional yang dilakukan kepada 171 mahasiswa baru angkatan 2022 di Universitas Malahayati. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) untuk mengukur penyesuaian diri dan College Student Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (CSSWQ) untuk mengukur kesejahteraan subjektif. Data dalam penelitian dianalisis menggunakan korelasi pearson. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki penyesuaian diri dan kesejahteraan subjektif dalam kategori sedang. Lebih lanjut, ditemukan korelasi positif yang signifikan antara college student subjective well being dengan college adjustment, dimana terdapat 15,4% varians college adjustment yang dapat dijelaskan oleh college student subjective well being. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bahwa kesejahteraan subjektif memegang peran yang signifikan terhadap penyesuaian diri mahasiswa baru terhadap kehidupan kampus. Kata Kunci: Penyesuaian Diri, Kesejahteraan Subjektif, Mahasiswa Baru

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh locus of control dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan terhadap College Student Subjective Well Being pada mahasiswa penerima beasiswa bidikmisi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa beasiswa bidikmisi di Bandar Lampung mulai dari semester tiga dengan jumlah 208 orang mahasiswa. Data penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan google formulir yang berisi dari tiga alat ukur yaitu skala College Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (CSSWQ), skala Locus of Control (LoC), dan skala Keterlibatan Dalam Kegiatan Non Akademik (KDKNA). Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan regresi berganda dengan hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peran locus of control dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan non akdemik dengan college student subjective well-being (p<0,05) dengan sumbangan sebesar 20,3%. Variabel keterlibatan dalam kegiatan non akademik memberikan sumbangan lebih besar dari pada locus of control terhadap college student subjective well-being. Mengingat hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa mahasiswa bidikmisi kurang meluangkan waktu dan mengikuti kegiatan dengan beragam jenis. Sehingga mahasiswa perlu mengisi waktu luang dengan bersosialisasi dan beraktifitas guna membantu meningkatkan college student subjective wellbeing. Kata kunci: College Student Subjective Well-Being, Keterlibatan dalam Kegiatan, Locus of Control AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of locus of control and involvement in Non Academic Activities on College Student Subjective Well Being in college student who received Bidikmisi scholarship. The subjects in this study were Bidikmisi scholarship students in Bandar Lampung starting from the third semester with a total of 208 students. The research data was taken using a google form containing three measuring instruments, namely the College Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (CSSWQ) scale, the Locus of Control (LoC) scale, and the Involvement in Non-Academic Activities (KDKNA) scale. The analysis technique in this study uses multiple regression with the results showing that there is the role locus of control and involvement in non-academic activities with college student subjective well-being (p <0.05) with a contribution of 20.3%. The variable of involvement in non-academic activities gave a greater contribution than the locus of control to college student subjective well-being. Given the results of the study found that bidikmisi students spent less time and took part in various types of activities. So that students need to fill their free time by socializing and doing activities to help improve college student subjective wellbeing. Keywords: College Student Subjective Well-Being, Involvement In Activities, Locus Of Control

Abstract

Self-efficacy according to Bandura is an individual's belief in the ability of an individual to organize and take the necessary actions to achieve certain results. Mukti and Tentama suggest that there are two factors that influence self-efficacy, namely internal factors and external factors. One component of the internal factor is patience. To determine the relationship between patience and the level of self-efficacy in undergraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine, Malahayati University. This type of research is an observational quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional research design, the measuring instrument used is a questionnaire on the patience scale and self-efficacy level scale and uses a stratified random sampling technique. Spearman test statistical data using the SPSS program. Based on the research results, there were 228 students with the highest level of patience in the high category, totaling 129 students (56.6%), then for the highest level of self-efficacy in the high category, amounting to 140 students (61.4%). Statistical analysis using the Spearman test showed a p = value of 0.000 with a correlation test of 0.357. There is a significant relationship between patience and the level of self-efficacy in undergraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine, Malahayati University. Patience affects the level of self-efficacy by 15.4%.
