Abstract

The Measurement of the microtremor has been conducted in the Village of Fulolo, Alasa Subdistrict, North Nias District. The aim of this study is to determine the parameters of HVSR in the form of the dominant frequency value (f0) and amplification factor (A0) and the parameters of soft sediment thickness (H), seismik vulnerability index (Kg), peak ground acceleration/PGA (α) and ground shear strain (γ) as well as analyzing the earth quake disaster risk  in the Village of Fulolo, Alasa District, North Nias District. Microtremor measurements done on 5 points measurement and microtremor’s data were analyzed using Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio’s method. The HVSR analysis is in the dominant frequency (f0) value and amplification (A0) value. Then calculate the thickness of soft sedimentary , the value of peak ground acceleration/PGA(α), the value of seismic vulnerability index (Kg) and the value of ground shear strain (γ).The results showed that the village of Fulolo have dominant frequency (f0)  distribution grade range up 0,954 Hz to 7,149 Hz, the value of amplification (A0) ranges up 0,546 to 7,505, the value of the thickness of soft sedimentary (H) ranges up 8,945 meters t 112,21 meters, the value of peak ground acceleration (α) ranges up 71,78 gal to 194,11 gal, the seismic vulnerability index (Kg) ranges up 2,06 x 10-07 (1/cm s2) to 1,86 x 10-05 (1/cm s2) and the value of ground shear strain (γ) range up 1,031 x 10-04 to 1,338 x 10-03. Area that are high risk of experiencing the ravages of earthquakes are Fulolo 3rd, Fulolo 4th, Fulolo 5th on the Gunung Sitoli Formations (QTg) because of those have a thick layer of soft sediments so that third of the area have a dominant low frequency (f0) and resulting low amplification factor (A0) are high as well as at risk for experiencing shifting rock and deformation of surface layer due to the propagation of earthquake waves. Keywords: Microtremor, HVSR, Dominant Frequency, Amplification, Peak Ground Acceleration, Seismic Vulnerability Index and Ground Shear Strain

Abstract

Water is one of vital needs for human beings. People use water to drink, bath, irrigate, and etc. Water supply has become a severe problem over the two past years especially in Tembelang Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency. The research aims to determine the aquifer layers. The method used in this research is seismic method with HVSR (Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio) microtremor survey with 71 measurement points. The HVSR microtremor data is processed to determine Poisson’s ratio from Vp⁄Vs  ratio. The obtained Vp⁄Vs  ratio from 71 measurement points ranges from 1.63 to 2.64 and Poisson's ratio ranges from 0.20 to 0.42. The Vp⁄Vs  ratio parameter to determine an aquifer is more than 1.73 and the Poisson's ratio is more than 0.25. There are 4 zones which are considered to have aquifers, namely at line 1 near point P22 depth of over 184 meters, line 2 near point P8 depth of 108-180 meters, line 3 near point P2 and P3 depth of 91-161 meters, line 4 near point P16, P17, and P18 depth of 32-187 meters. line 5 near point T22 depth of 63-157 meters, point T31 depth of 122-152 meters, and point T40 depth of 71-178 meters. The Vp⁄Vs  ratio and Poisson’s ratio are then modeled by using Rockwork 15 to obtain 3D models of acquifers based on the Vp⁄Vs  ratio and Poisson’s ratio.

Abstract

Indonesia is located at the confluence of 3 large, active plates that are constantly moving. Therefore, Indonesia is one of the countries that has a high level of seismicity risk. This study aims to classify seismicity data in the Indonesian region based on coordinate data which contains variable data on frequency of occurrence, depth, and strength of seismicity. Seismicity data was obtained from the BMKG official website using data for the period 2018 to 2020. The clustering technique used was the DBSCAN algorithm. This algorithm requires epsilon and MinPts input parameters. The results of the cluster formed will then be validated using silhouette coefficients. Based on the coordinate data, 4 clusters were formed with 4 disturbances. Based on the characteristic data, 3 clusters were formed with 5 disturbances. The silhouette coefficient obtained was 0.35 for coordinate data and 0.39 for characteristic data. This research is useful for increasing the use value of abundant seismicity information and can be used as an effort to mitigate seismicity natural disasters.

Abstract

Kota Lama is one of the landmarks in Semarang Central Java that is located on young alluvial sediment. This area is prone to vibrations stemming from tectonic activities around Semarang. Therefore, measurements were carried out to identify this vibration vulnerability using the microtremor method. These were aimed at obtaining a spatial distribution of vibration vulnerability. There were 29 measurement points each separated by a sampling interval of 50 ms and a duration of 10 minutes.  Ground vibration amplification in this area was found to range from 0.74 to 4.9 with the highest being on the outskirts of Kota Lama. The predominant frequency was found to range from 0.02 to 1.1 Hz. These patterns of high predominant frequency and ground vibration amplification suggest that the central area of Kota Lama needs more attention. High ground shear strain that ranges from 0.02 to 0.86 means that possible event to occur in Kota Lama include landslide, soil compaction, and liquefaction, as is also evident with existing dynamic properties of repeated collapse effect and loading speed effect. Meanwhile, structure of vibration amplification against predominant frequency underneath Kota Lama revealed lateral subsurface discontinuity on its southwest side. It was also found that the contour of ground vibration amplification resembles the shape of Vifjhoek fort.

Abstract

Variabel yang berpengaruh adalah usia, pendidikan, lama trip dan pendapatan Title: Economic Incentive and Disincentiveson Protection of Hammerhead Sharks (Sphyrna spp.) as By-catch in Aceh Jaya Hammerhead sharks (Sphyrna spp.) have a high chance of being caught due to their unique head shape and juvenile aggregation behavior in shallow coastal waters whose areas overlap with capture fisheries with high levels of exploitation. These Sharks have landed at the fish landing port Rigaih of Aceh Jaya Regency, which is generally by-catch with small size at the immature/pre-adult stage. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of hammerhead fishermen in Aceh Jaya and estimate the amount of economic incentives in the form of fines to protect hammerhead sharks in Aceh Jaya. The descriptive survey was used as the data collection method in this research. The deep interview was conducted to collect primary data from fishermen from April to August 2022. This research calculates the fisherman’s incentive using contingent valuation method (CVM) analysis. A total of 48 respondents were selected using the simple random sampling method. The findings show that the characteristics of fishermen in Aceh Jaya are small fisheries that operate using 5-10 gross-tone wooden boats with one-day fishing duration and some 2-5 days/trip. The estimated disincentives fishermen will pay if they still catch hammerhead sharks (WTP) is an average of IDR 259,375.00/trip. Willingness to pay is influenced by age, education, income, and number of children. Economic incentives include fishermen’s willingness to receive compensation instead of fishing for hammerhead sharks (WTA), with an average estimated IDR 434,895.83/trip. Influential variables are age, education, length of trip, and income.

Abstract

Analysis of suitability and carrying capacity are two fundamental aspects in assessing the suitability of an area for a particular designation concerning sustainability aspects. Pejarakan Village, one of the villages on the north coast of Buleleng Regency, Bali Province, has a natural potential to be developed for marine tourism activities. However, mangrove ecosystem management in general has not been optimally implemented to become an added economic value for the local community. Therefore, to realize the sustainable utilization of coastal areas, especially mangroves in Pejarakan Village to become a new Tourism Attraction Object (ODTW), a regional carrying capacity study (DDK) and a tourism suitability analysis (IKW) were carried out. This study aims to analyze the tourism suitability index based on the potential of mangrove resources and calculate the carrying capacity of an area based on the number of people that can be accommodated in an area at a certain time without causing disturbance to nature or humans. The research uses an in situ scheme using the Spot Check Method and purposive sampling of mangrove ecosystems to analyze the tourism suitability index and the area’s carrying capacity. This research was conducted from October to November 2022 in the mangrove area of Pejarakan Village. Based on the study’s results, a suitable tourism suitability index was obtained in the northern part of the area (area 2), and then the potential length of the mangrove track was approximately 700 meters and could accommodate 112 people per day.

Abstract
