Abstract

In the digital era, traditional games are increasingly marginalized despite containing essential social values for character formation. Limited empirical investigation exists regarding social group dynamics mechanisms through which character values are internalized. This research investigates social group dynamics in character development through traditional games, examining facilitation processes, group interaction patterns, and character value internalization mechanisms. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted at SD Negeri 5 Wangon, Indonesia, involving sixth-grade students and educational stakeholders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentary analysis. Source triangulation and interactive analysis model ensured data trustworthiness. Four distinct facilitator functions emerged: communication, facilitation, motivation, and dynamization. Social group dynamics progressed through four phases—forming, storming, norming, and performing—each contributing uniquely to character internalization. Three traditional games (egrang, gobak sodor, engklek) developed specific character values: honesty, empathy, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility, and rule adherence. Sustained engagement catalyzed behavioral institutionalization, transforming discrete actions into habitual practices and ultimately stable character patterns. The Cheerful Traditional Games Movement exemplified successful institutionalization, demonstrating traditional games' viability as systematic character education interventions. Social group dynamics constitute powerful mechanisms for character development through traditional games. Strategic facilitation and sustained implementation enable authentic character formation transcending superficial behavioral compliance, offering culturally-grounded alternatives to conventional character education approaches.

Abstract

Ikan tuna sirip kuning adalah komoditas perikanan bernilai tinggi dan sumber utama mata pencaharian nelayan di Sumatra Barat. Namun, intensifikasi penangkapan sering mengabaikan selektivitas alat tangkap, sehingga ikan belum layak tangkap turut tertangkap, mengganggu regenerasi populasi, menurunkan biomassa, dan meningkatkan risiko overfishing. Informasi ukuran layak tangkap penting untuk mendukung keberlanjutan perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi ukuran panjang ikan, pola pertumbuhan ikan dan menentukan tingkat kelayaktangkapan ikan tuna (Thunnus albacares). Data distribusi ikan, seperti panjang dan berat ikan dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran langsung terhadap hasil tangkapan nelayan. Distribusi ukuran dan berat ikan dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan pola pertumbuhan ikan ditentukan menggunakan persamaan W=aLb. Jumlah ikan tuna yang berhasil diukur selama periode Juni - Agustus 2020 mencapai 398 ekor. Ikan yang paling dominan tertangkap berkisar antara 135-144 cm dengan berat 44-60 kg. Analisis distribusi ikan menghasilkan persamaan regresi y = 0,00005x2,7787, dengan nilai R² = 0,9575 dan nilai b = 2,4969. Nilai b yang lebih kecil dari 3 mengindikasikan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif, di mana pertumbuhan panjang ikan lebih dominan dibandingkan pertumbuhan beratnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 81% ikan memenuhi kriteria layak tangkap, sedangkan 19% lainnya tergolong tidak layak tangkap. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam mendukung pengelolaan perikanan tuna sirip kuning yang berkelanjutan berbasis ukuran layak tangkap.

Abstract

The Saleh Bay is one of the bays in West Nusa Tenggara utilized as the grouper fishing ground. However, in the previous spawning potential ratio study, some grouper species have been overexploited in Saleh Bay. This study aimed to estimate the status of grouper utilization with a catch per unit effort (CPUE) approach and the spatio-temporal fishing intensity of grouper in fishing grounds in Saleh Bay. Data were gathered using the fish landing data and geo-reference of fishing ground grouper in Saleh Bay. This study used several methods: descriptive analysis, catch per unit effort, and spatial-temporal analysis. The result showed that the catch unit effort positively impacts production, with the increasing trend of grouper fishing in Saleh Bay waters. The CPUE value in 2016 was 2.82 kg/trip, while in 2020, it increased to 3.99 kg/trip. Spatially and temporally, fishers caught grouper around small islands such as Liang Island, Dempu Island, Lipan Island, Takat Nusa Pudu, and Rakit Island. The highest intensity of grouper fishing around the marine protected area, namely Rakit Island, Liang Island, and Ngali Island. Keywords: catch per unit effort, fishing ground, grouper, Saleh Bay
