Abstract

Sadeng that located in Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province, has enough potential fisheries resources. There are relatively new fishing industry activities in Sadeng that began in 2000 by fisherman from Cilacap (Central Java) and fisherman from East Java.  The current research attempts todetermine the aspects of multi-purpose fishing industry that covering technical aspects, marketing aspects, social aspects and financial aspects.  Base on technical aspects, motor ship is one of fishing units that operated in Sadeng.  The productivity of motor ship fishing unit has 1,514.6 kg/trip.  Moreover, marketing aspects, especially for fishing catch marketing, has not been effective due to lack of promotion on fisheries and fishery products.  In addition, financial aspects show the profit of this fishing industry is Rp 55,883,626.67 per year, R/C ratio is 1.18 and Payback Periode is 3.46.   Key words: multi-purpose, technical aspects, marketing aspects, social aspects, financial aspects ABSTRAK Sadeng merupakan salah satu daerah di Kabupaten Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang memiliki potensi sumberdaya perikanan yang cukup besar. Usaha perikanan tangkap di Sadeng relatif baru, mulai berkembang pada tahun 2000 dengan didatangkannya nelayan dari Cilacap dan Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek yang mempengaruhi usaha perikanan tangkap multi purpose di Sadeng yang meliputi aspek teknik, produktivitas, aspek pemasaran, aspek social dan finansial.  Berdasarkan analisis aspek teknis, salah satu unit penangkapan ikan yang digunakan di Sadeng adalah kapal motor. Produktivitas kapal motor sebesar 1.514,6 kg per trip. Proses pemasaran hasil tangkapan belum berjalan maksimal karena kurangnya promosi kegiatan perikanan dan produk perikanan di Sadeng. Hasil analisis finansial, memperoleh keuntungan sebesar Rp 55.883.626,67 per tahun, R/C 1,18 dan PP 3,46.   Kata kunci: multi purpose, aspek teknis, aspek pemasaran, aspek sosial, aspek finansial

Abstract

The increasing use of fish agregating devices (FADs) in the Indian Ocean South Coast of Java is concerned that will be affect the sustainability of tuna resources. The research aimed to evaluate and make development model of FADs as a tool in the sustainability utilization of tuna fish resources. Research was conducted in PPP Tamperan and PPP Pondokdadap. The evaluation was conducted to 1) the lengths size composition, 2) tuna stok resources, 3) map location of FADs, 4) policy rules of use of FADs. Evaluation results indicated 1) the size composition of decent catch tuna fish in PPP Tamperan and PPP Pondokdadap differed for sampling in different month, i.e. respectively in June-July 75,14 and 99,42%, while in August-September 43,18 and 73,43% respectively; 2) estimation of MSY is 2.569 tonnes per year, the optimum effort of 970 units, the level of utilization is 78,81; 3) FADs installed in position 8-13 oLS, 111-113 oBT, the number of FADs quite a lot with the installation distance was less than 10 miles and not in order; 4) regulations already existed, but the level of stakeholder understanding of regulations was still low. Based on evaluation results, recommendations of development model are 1) tightening the permissions, that tuna fish which is allowed to be caught is with lenght size over than 80 cm; 2) FADs installation location refers to the variability of chlorophyll-a, sea surface temperature and the rules that are contained in the Kepmen KP No. 30/2004, 3) more technical regulations need to be made and socialized, accompanied with monitoring and controlling.

Abstract

Ikan lemuru (Sardinella lemuru) merupakan salah satu sumber daya ikan di Perairan Selat Bali yang mempunyai potensi dan nilai ekonomis yang cukup tinggi. Produksi yang hasil tangkapan yang diperoleh saat ini sudah mengalami penurunan akibat overfishing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi potensi lestari, tingkat pemanfaatan dan pengupayaan serta pola musim penangkapan ikan lemuru di Selat Bali berdasarkan hasil tangkapan yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Muncar. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode surplus produksi untuk mencari potensi lestari, upaya optimum serta tingkat pemanfaatan menggunakan metode Schaefer. Pola musim penangkapan ikan menggunakan analisis deret waktu dan metode rata-rata bergerak. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai potensi lestari dan upaya optimum sebesar 33.576 ton/tahun dan 26.696 trip/tahun. Tingkat pemanfaatan selama 2004-2008 telah melebihi nilai potensi lestari pada tahun 2006 dan 2007 yaitu sebesar 153% dan 161%, tingkat pengupayaan selama lima tahun terakhir sudah diatas 100%. Bulan Desember-Februari sangat baik untuk melakukan operasi penangkapan ikan lemuru karena sumberdaya yang melimpah dan sudah layak tangkap. Sedangkan bulan Maret-November merupakan waktu yang kurang baik untuk operasi penangkapan ikan lemuru karena sumberdaya yang sedikit dan belum layak tangkap.

Abstract

Indramayu merupakan daerah yang memiliki potensi sumber daya ikan terbesar di Jawa Barat. Ikan komoditas unggulan lokal di Indramayu diantaranya tenggiri. Secara umum, nelayan di Indramayu menentukan daerah penangkapan ikan berdasarkan pengalaman sehingga proses penangkapan menjadi kurang efektif dan efisiensi operasi dengan banyaknya waktu, biaya dan tenaga yang terbuang. Sebaran suhu permukaan laut (SPL) yang diambil dari data satelit dapat digunakan sebagai indikator penentuan daerah penangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kisaran SPL di Perairan Indramayu, mengetahui hasil tangkapan tenggiri pada kurun waktu yang berbeda serta hubungan SPL terhadap hasil tangkapan tenggiri di Perairan Indramayu. Metode yang digunakan dalam Penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Kisaran SPL di perairan Indramayu adalah 23-33°C. Pada bulan Juni SPL berkisar antara 23-31°C dengan suhu dominan 27,55°C. Kisaran SPL Juli berada antara 28-33°C dengan suhu dominan sebesar 30,28°C sedangkan pada bulan Agustus SPL berkisar 24-32°C dengan suhu dominan 29,37°C. Hasil tangkapan ikan tenggiri pada bulan Juni sebesar 14 kg/trip, bulan Juli 2005 sebesar 6 kg/trip dan pada bulan Agustus 2005 sebesar 6,5 kg/trip. SPL berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan tenggiri dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,672. Adapun nilai koefisien determinan (R2) sebesar 0,45 yang berarti variasi dari SPL dapat menjelaskan model observasi 45%. Sisanya 54% dipengaruhi oleh faktor oseanografi yang lain serta faktor-faktor produksi.

Abstract

The need for accurate shallow water mapping is highly desireable for various engineering work and navigational safety. The current research attempts to estimate shallow water depth using Landsat-7 ETM+ and to formulate the best combination of Van Hengel and Spitzer algorithm and the best original digital number model. The best digital number model is obtained by correlation analysis, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and application of regression model to 1st, 2nd and 3rd bands of Landsat-7 ETM+ satellite images. The results show that: (1) Shallow water depth in Pari Island, as a study site, can be estimated from Landsat-7 ETM+; (2) Combination of 321 bands of Land Satellite-7 Enhanched Thematic Mapper Plus (Landsat-7 ETM+ )is the best combination of algorithm of Van Hengel and Spitzer; (3) The best model to estimate shallow water depth from original digital number is exponential equation: y = 21.07e-0.0591x; (4) The best original digital number model has smaller mean error at the depth of less than 9 meter while the Van Hengel and Spitzer algorithm has smaller mean error at the depth of more than 9 meter.

Abstract

Indonesia has coastal and ocean natural resources which is potential to develop economic and welfare of the nation. Natural resources utilization has to maintain carrying capacity. Development of technology is needed to improve social welfare as well as maintain sustainability of the resource for sustainable utilization. Set net and squid attractor are such a way to develop integrated coastal area in order to empower coastal society. Set net is a fishing gear include in traps. This fishing gear can be developed because it has some advantages compare to another, such as can be integrated with sea farming and sea recreational, also efficient in energy uses. Squid attractor can be developed with aim to enrich squid stock in a certain water as well as to develop alternative livelihood for coastal society.

Abstract

Purse seine is one the productive fishing gear for fishing pelagic fishes.  Fishing capacity is one the important issue in sustainable fisheries. This study aimed to measure fishing capacity of purse seine in Aceh Besar district, estimated the maximum economic yield (MEY) the targeted pelagic fishes, and formulate management strategies purse seine in the district of Aceh Besar.  Fishing capacity was analyzed using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method based on fishing capacity efficiency of monthly total catch as single output, from September 2009 to August 2010.  Fishing vessel was used as decision making unit (DMU).  Fixed input consists gross tonnage (GT), engine horse power (HP) and length of webb. Variable input consists number of crew, lamp power (watt), hold capacity (ton), and number of trip. The result showed that fishing capasity, 17 vessels reached optimum (CU=1), and fishing capacity of purse seine was 257 ton/year/unit. Thus bioeconomic analysis of pelagic fishes showed that MEY reached at 3,753.37 ton/year and optimum effort at 8,623  trip/year with total cost Rp 34,992,314,500 year and total revenue Rp 51,643,083,629. Abstract

Monitoring mangrove dengan metode konvensional sangat sulit dilakukan. Sistem penginderaan jauh merupakan salah satu alternatif dalam mengatasi kendala dalam melakukan inventarisasi mangrove dengan cakupan areal yang luas. Tujuan penelitian ini melakukan validasi akurasi dari data Landsat-7 ETM+ dalam menduga kerapatan kanopi mangrove. Data spasial yang dipergunakan adalah citra Landsat ETM+ tanggal perekaman 21 Mei 2002 (path/row: 116/059). Data lapangan yang diperlukan adalah data kondisi fisik mangrove, pengamatan dilakukan pada beberapa lokasi yang berbeda, pada setiap lokasi dibuat transek. Setiap transek diplot dengan ukuran (30 × 30) meter2. Analisis data meliputi koreksi radiometrik dan koreksi geometrik, penajaman citra dan klasifikasi citra. Setelah itu dilakukan uji ketelitian separability transformasi divergency dan analisis komponen utama. Hasil analisis menunjukkan algoritma vegetasi indeks yang paling baik adalah Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (GNDVI).

Abstract

Fishers, including trammel net fishers, have different respond due to seasonal changes. The research aims to calculate shrimp season index, to identify the impact of seasonal changes related to income of trammel net fishers, and to identify the adaptation pattern of trammel net fishers related to shrimp season changes. The data collected were trammel net fishing unit performance, trammel net fisherman adaptation methods, investment data, income, and fishermen's capital as well as trip data and trammel net shrimp production data for five years (2012-2016). Data analysis used fishing season index, fishing season impact related to income of fishers, and fishers adaptation to seasonal changes. The results showed that there are five months were identified as peak season of shrimp i.e. June, September, October, November, and December. Other results showed that seasonal changes have impacted to trammel net fishers income amounted Rp 6.185.800/vessel/trip. At the peak season fishing, fisher income were Rp 6.591.495/vssel/trip, however at the low season fishers income were Rp 405.695/vessel/trip. In addition there were five adaptation pattern related to seasonal changes of trammel net fishers which were 37% lending money and selling stuffs, 33% repairing fishing gear, 13% fishing gear diversification, 10% changing the fishing ground, and 7% income diversification. In conclution that fishers who choose adaptation pattern of fishing gear diversification have the highest income compared to fishers who choose other types of adaptation.

Abstract

Parameter oseanografi seperti upwelling dan thermal front dapat digunakan sebagai indikator daerah penangkapan ikan potensial. Pengetahuan tentang lokasi perairan dengan fenomena tersebut akan dapat membantu para nelayan untuk mencari daerah penangkapan ikan potensial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sebaran suhu permukaan laut (SPL), dan  memprediksi keberadaan thermal front dan upwelling di perairan Mentawai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Mei 2006 di Perairan Mentawai. Sedangkan Citra SPL yang diolah  Juni 2006-September 2007.Analisa data yang digunakan adalah secara visual untuk menentukan thermal front dan upwelling. Pada musim timur SPL berkisar 26-32°C, musim peralihan timur-barat berkisar  23-32oC, musim barat berkisar 23-32oC, musim peralihan barat-timur berkisar antara 25-32oC. Thermal front hampir ditemukan sepanjang tahun di sekitar Pulau Siberut, Pulau Sipora, Pulau Pagai Utara, Pulau Pagai Selatan dan sekitar Pasaman. Indikasi upwelling tidak ditemukan pada musim barat. Pada musim timur, upwelling ditemukan di sekitar Pulau Siberut, Pulau Sipora, Pulau Pagai Utara, Pulau Pagai Selatan. Pada musim peralihan timur barat, upwelling ditemukan di sekitar Pulau Siberut, Pulau Sipora, Pulau Pagai Utara. Pada musim barat timur, upwelling ditemukan di sekitar Pulau Sipora, Pulau Pagai Utara.Kata kunci: Perairan Mentawai, suhu permukaan laut (SPL), thermal front, upwelling
