Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of several students who feel isolated, afraid to try new things, feel low in self-confidence, feel unappreciated, experience long-term emotional impacts such as depression, and frequently skip or miss classes. Several students who feel isolated, afraid to try new things, feel low in self-confidence, feel unappreciated, experience long-term emotional impacts such as depression, and often skip or miss classes. This study aims to determine: 1) Bullying behavior in class X at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan. 2) Self-esteem of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan. 3) Examine the Effect of Bullying on Self-esteem in Class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan. This study used a quantitative research method using simple linear regression analysis. The population was 75 students, with a total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Data analysis in this study used percentages and simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate: 1) Bullying among 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan is in the high category. 2) Self-esteem among 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan is in the low category. 3) Bullying has a 9% effect on 10th-grade students' self-esteem. The results indicate that bullying has a negative effect on self-esteem in 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan, with a very low coefficient of 9%. The higher the level of bullying, the lower the students' self-esteem. This study shows that students who experience high levels of bullying tend to have low self-esteem. Therefore, efforts are needed to address bullying in students to improve their self-esteem. This study is recommended to principals, guidance counselors, and students to prevent bullying and improve their self-esteem.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of students with low learning behavior who come from broken home families. The purpose of this research is to determine 1). The learning motivation of students from broken home families 2). The factors that influence the learning motivation of students from broken home families 3). The strategies used by students from broken home families to maintain their learning motivation. The type of this research is qualitative research. The key informants in this study are MMR and FM. Meanwhile, the additional informants are A, DS, and E. The data collection method used is interviews. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research shows that the learning behavior of broken home students is still low in almost all aspects. They do not yet have a study routine, are less independent, often procrastinate, and are easily distracted. In terms of thinking, students tend to only memorize, forget quickly, rarely ask questions, and lack critical thinking. Learning attitudes are characterized by procrastination, excuses, and cheating, while in terms of self-control, they are not yet able to manage their emotions or study time well. Although there are differences between MMR, who are more passive, and FM, who are more active, in general, the roles of guidance counselors, parents, and schools are needed to provide intensive guidance so that students' learning behaviors can develop more effectively.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the diversity of student potential at SMA N 12 Padang, which has not been optimally mapped. Although the school has attempted to implement modern educational concepts, the learning process often remains conventional and tends to emphasize specific cognitive abilities, such as linguistic and logical-mathematical. In reality, every individual possesses uniqueness through multiple intelligences. The purpose of this study is to describe the multiple intelligences profiles of student at SMA N 12 Padang, specifically focusing on linguistic, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, intrapersonal, and interpersonal intelligences. This study employs a descriptive quantitative research method, invoving students of class X Phase E as the subjects. The data collection instrument used is a multiple intelligences profile questionnaire. The results of this study are expected to seve as a reference for guidance and counseling teachers as well as subject teachers in mapping student potential, furthermore, these findings are intended to provide a basis for determining differentiated learning strategies to enhance students’ motivation and academic achievement. Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that some students experience difficulties in social interaction. This is evident in their behavior of not greeting each other when passing each other, avoiding group activities due to discomfort and feeling confused when expressing opinions, and a tendency to isolate themselves. The purpose of this study was to describe: difficulties in social interaction, social anxiety, lack of interpersonal communication skills, feelings of inferiority or low self-esteem, social isolation, difficulties in social adaptation, and dependence on technology. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study was 307 guidance and counseling students. The sampling technique used was random sampling, with 66 students. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire, and the data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the profile, 1). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' social anxiety is in the fairly high category, 2). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' lack of interpersonal communication skills is in the fairly high category. 3). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' feelings of inferiority or low self-esteem is in the fairly high category. 4). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' social isolation is in the fairly high category. 5). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' adaptation difficulties is in the fairly high category. 6). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' dependence on technology is in the fairly high category. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that students improve their social interaction difficulties

Abstract

This study was motivated by the aggressive behavior exhibited by students of class X TITL 1 at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, both physically and verbally. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services using the role-playing method in minimizing students’ aggressive behavior. The study employed an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population consisted of 24 students, while the sample included 10 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using percentage analysis and a t-test. The results showed that before the intervention, students’ aggressive behavior was in the high category, with a percentage of 50%, while after the intervention, it decreased to the low category, with a percentage of 80%. The mean aggressive behavior score decreased from 170.6 in the pretest to 118.4 in the posttest. The t-test result showed a significance value of 0.000216 < 0.05, indicating that group guidance services using the role-playing method were effective in minimizing students’ aggressive behavior.
