Abstract

Limited learning resources in the early childhood environment in arts and culture learning have an impact on the meta-emotional quality which includes cognitive, social emotional and language aspects of students, especially on knowledge of Indonesian musical instruments. Based on these problems, this research aims to implement the Kanong application based on applied ethnomusicology as an effort to increase cognitive and social emotional, language competence. This research uses the emotion regulation theory proposed by Oschner and Gross. The research method was preceded by ethnography to determine and find socio-cultural indicators that underlie the problem, then continued with a quasi experiment, namely using a sample of 30 students from groups A and B. The results of the research show that the limited learning resources in the early childhood education environment are caused by several factors, namely the lack of optimal meta-emotions in the form of awareness of emotional evolution in the form of human resource competency responses to technological developments, curriculum design that does not yet reflect emotional regulation, while the experimental results show that the application Kanong based on applied ethnomusicology is a solution in increasing students' awareness and meta-emotional abilities which include cognitive, social emotional

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan hasil perancangan model inovasi terapi dalam mengurangi ganguan anak autis dengan menggunakan gamelan jawa. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Adapun teknik pelaksanaanya melalui penyusunan draf model, uji konseptual, serta penerapan model di dalam praktik terapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model terapi ini merupakan model terapis yang menggunakan seperangkat gamelan Jawa autis kepada peserta terapi usia antara delapan tahun hingga 15 tahun. Gamelan terdiri atas delapan instrumen, ukurannya diperkecil, berbentuk mainan, dan berwarna mencolok agar peserta terapi tertarik, dapat memainkan secara mudah dan nyaman. Gending gangsaran dan lancaran dikemas dalam rangkaian pembelajaran mulai dari membuat peserta terapi nyaman bermain gamelan, belajar pola tabuhan gending, belajar melodi, belajar dinamika gending dan belajar memulai dan mengakhiri gending. Pendekatan terapi berbasis gamelan Jawa merupakan inovasi yang jarang dieksplorasi dalam terapi anak autis, khususnya di Indonesia. Melalui pendekatan ini, dihasilkan perubahan perilaku anak autis pasca terapi, antara lain: meningkatnya konsentrasi belajar anak, anak mudah berinterkasi, tumbuh motivasi dan minat belajar anak, serta dapat menghilangkan tantrum.

Abstract

This research examines the redefinition of education based on local wisdom through applied ethnomusicology perspectives using philosophical research methods and literature study approaches. Applied ethnomusicology offers a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding how traditional music and arts can serve as foundations for more contextual and meaningful educational systems. This study analyses literature on local wisdom concepts, applied ethnomusicology, and alternative educational systems to construct a new understanding of local culture-based education. Through philosophical analysis, this research reveals that local wisdom-based education is not limited to learning and applying traditional objects or artistic artefacts from a particular region. The research findings demonstrate that local wisdom-based education provides a broader perspective on intellectual wealth values within cultures grounded in regional characteristics and problem-solving systems possessed by local communities. These findings theoretically contribute to developing more inclusive, contextual, and meaningful educational models for students' character development and cultural identity formation. This perspective transforms education from artefact-centred learning to value-based cultural understanding encompassing indigenous knowledge systems and community-based solutions.

Abstract

The creation of the work "kemepyar" is a response to the typical archipelago food containing many spices, one of which is soto. Soto is made from a variety of spices and spices from all corners of the country, be it in the form of tubers, leaves, grains, and so on. The mixture of various Indonesian spices produces a distinctive taste and makes the body feel warm and fit. This was used as an inspiration for the creation of the artwork entitled Kemepyar.  Kemepyar is a term used by Javanese people to describe a situation that very bright, clear, warm, satisfying, satisfied, and delicious in enjoying a dish of food or drink with a fresh taste. The musical idea of the work comes from Javanese gamelan and Macapat dhandang gula. Musical idioms use Javanese, Balinese, Kalimantan, and Sumatran karawitan. Meanwhile, the medium of cultivation uses gamelan, swipe instruments, saxophone blowing instruments, and tambourines. The purpose of creating this work as a form of response to the social environment, in this case the diversity of spices/spices used in soto dishes as a representation of ethnic diversity and traditional music in Indonesia. This work is useful as a stimulus for Music Composition students to create works derived from the phenomenon of daily life, in this case food. The method of creation was chosen to realize the phenomenon of food diversity of soto spices into the form of musical works. The creation process consists of initial stimulation, idea emergence, exploration, improvisation, formation, and presentation.

Abstract

Pelatihan kelompok jathilan di Desa Argorejo, Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta merupakan upaya untukmentransfer keterampilan dalam komposisi musik dan koreografi tari kepada kelompok Jathilan yang sedangdibina. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas berbagai elemen seperti variasi musikpengiring, tata rias, pola lantai, dan kostum, dengan tujuan meningkatkan produktivitas dan kreativitasseniman lokal. Kelompok jathilan yang sedang dibina antara lain Kelompok Jathilan Taruno Mudo di DesaKepuhan dan Kelompok Jathilan Sindu Kidul di Desa Sindu Kidul. Kegiatan ini mencakup pengembangangending atau lagu, pola tabuhan, pola lantai, gerak tari, tata rias, dan kostum. Pendekatan yang digunakandalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi pendekatan personal seperti demonstrasi, ceramah, latihan, danpengembangan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini termasuk pembuatan komposisi iringan musik dan pola lantai tarian,serta penataan tari dan rias busana. Training for Jathilan groups in Argorejo Village, Sedayu Subdistrict, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta,aims to effective;y impart music composition and dance choreography skills to this group. This activity isemphasized in improving the quality of musical accompaniment, floor patterns, make-up, and costumesin order to enhance their performances. It is also automatically in line with the improvement of productivityand creativity of local artists in the future. The targeted groups of the training were Jathilan TarunoMudo Group in Kepuhan Village and Jathilan Sindu Kidul Group in Sindu Kidul Village. Theactivities involved enhancing musical compositions, drum patterns, floor designs, dance techniques,make-up, and costumes. The authors applied personal approach methods such as demonstrations,lectures, training sessions, and skill development. The outcomes of this program are the development ofmusical compositions for accompaniment, refinement of dance floor patterns, choreography creation,and redesignation of costumes and make-up.

Abstract

Gerbang Etam Orchestra is a musical group that is always present at the Erau International Folk Arts Festival. Gerbang Etam Orchestra has a characteristic performance by combining Kutai Kartanegara ethnic music with a mass format. The purpose of this research is to identify the form of the Gerbang Etam Orchestra performance to review the use of the term “orchestra” whether it is in accordance with the rules of the music. This study used a qualitative method with an ethnomusicological approach to see the phenomenon of music which is influenced by hybridity and produces invention. This study uses Eric Hobsbawm's theory, the invention of tradition. The data analyzed were the results of observations, interviews, audio and video recordings. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques by means of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and data verification. The results showed that the use of the term orchestra at the Gerbang Etam Orchestra produced a form of performance that had similar characteristics to orchestras in general. Even though it uses the term Western music, Gerbang Etam Orchestra still emphasizes the distinctive characteristics of Kutai Kartanegara ethnic music which is owned as a regional identity. This is manifested in the form of performances presented by the Gerbang Etam Orchestra.Keywords: Gerbang Etam Orchestra, Invention, Ethnic Music, Orchestra

Abstract

Nginggut music tradition in the Semegah ritual is one of the cultures that has been maintained until now. Nginggut and Belian musicians are important elements of bonding, harmony, magical and sacred atmosphere in the implementation of rituals. The ritual implementer must be a person who is considered capable of carrying out the ritual and has physical, psychological, and reasoning endurance. This view forms the social construction of the paradigm that men are people who deserve to carry out rituals, both as leaders and musicians. Meanwhile, women are the people who support the ritual, because they are considered naturally unable to fulfill the requirements as ritual implementers. The theory of nurture and nature states that the emergence of a construction as well as a social paradigm is determined through the biological type of human that is obtained from birth. Based on this theoretical statement, the author examines the relationship between Ngiggut music which places men as performers of rituals, as well as the relationship between nurture and nature that forms the structure of society so that it has an influence in the aspect of Ngiggut music on Semegah rituals.Keywords: Nginggut music, Semegah ritual, Male

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek estetika vokal marhaban yang ada di Sumatera Utara. Teori yang dipakai untuk mendeskripsikan estetika menggunakan Djelatik yaitu wujud atau rupa, bobot atau isi, dan penampilan atau penyajian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang menghasilkan data-data deskriptif, menggunakan pendekatan etnomusikologis dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa elemen estetis dari vokal mahaban memberikan sebuah deskripsi mengenai kesimbangan dalam tataran sosiologi masyarakat melayu Deli.
