Abstract

The development of Merangin Geopark in Jambi as a prospective UNESCO Global Geopark faces complex challenges, including limited infrastructure, low accessibility, inadequate tourism amenities, and suboptimal community participation. Analyzing the current governance of the management and development of Merangin Jambi Geopark, viewed from the perspective of community-based tourism, community empowerment, stakeholder synergy (government, business actors, and local communities), and the implementation of tourism branding; and examining the most relevant and sustainable development strategies to strengthen the governance of Merangin Jambi Geopark in order to meet the criteria of a UNESCO Global Geopark. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving government officials, local communities, and tourism actors. The results show that while the Merangin Regional Government has integrated geopark development into its official planning documents (RPJMD, RIPP, and Master Plan), the implementation remains fragmented and lacks coordination among stakeholders. Community empowerment and tourism branding efforts have been initiated but have yet to generate substantial impact due to limited participation and promotional activities. The study concludes that an effective strategy for Merangin Geopark development requires accelerating policy implementation, strengthening community-based tourism, fostering public–private partnerships, and creating a distinctive tourism brand that reflects local geological and cultural uniqueness. These integrated efforts are essential to position Merangin Geopark as a sustainable world-class geotourism destination.

Abstract

Background: … Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) authority in enhancing accountability within the Provincial Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. Methods: The research employs a qualitative approach using normative-institutional analysis and public policy review. Data were examined through document analysis, APIP capability reports, SPIP maturity evaluations, and recent academic literature. Results: The findings reveal that the effectiveness of APIP authority is not solely determined by regulatory power, but by institutional capacity, auditor independence, leadership commitment, SPIP maturity, and risk-based supervisory integration. Although APIP authority in Jakarta is normatively adequate, its implementation faces structural challenges, including limited human resources, bureaucratic intervention, and weak follow-up on audit recommendations. Strengthening APIP capability to Level 3 and above, transforming supervisory culture, and implementing digital internal audit systems are key determinants of sustainable public accountability improvement. Conclusion: The study concludes that internal oversight reform must be oriented toward integrity-based governance and risk management frameworks.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends related to human rights, identify countries, organizations, and authors who contribute significantly to the aforementioned research. Furthermore, this paper identifies related articles that strongly influence these scientific publications. VosViewer collects data from Scopus Database Journal and analyzes it using bibliometric analysis. As a result of the study, the United States has the highest number of publications. Furthermore, the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland, is the organization that has focused the most attention and influence on the issue of resolving gross human rights violations. Aside from that, Professor C. Beyrer of the United States is the most prolific and influential researcher on the topic of resolving gross human rights violations. Bibliometric analysis and content analysis show that the trend of resolving gross human rights violations in several countries since 2015 has been more toward resolution with non-judicial mechanisms. However, the results of the research show that several relevant articles do not provide a clear definition of gross human rights violations. Therefore, further research from other databases, such as the Web of Science, is required.

Abstract

Structural poverty in the coastal areas of South Sulawesi remains resistant to various policy interventions, particularly for the Bajo community in Bajoe Village, Bone Regency. Coastal women face a double burden but have very limited access to empowerment programs. This study aims to analyze women's socio-economic roles, identify structural and cultural challenges, assess the potential of appropriate technology, and formulate a relevant empowerment model. A qualitative method with a fixed case study was used. Informants were determined purposively and through snowball sampling (total 9 informants), consisting of the Bajoe Village Head, the Head of DP3A, the Fisheries Service, Fisheries Extension Officers, and coastal Bajo women. The results indicate: (1) women's economic roles have shifted to the productive sector as pappalele, seaweed binders, and fish processors; (2) structural challenges include inaccessible KUSUKA Cards due to the practice of fish bombing, budget inefficiencies, and an age limit of 18-40 years; (3) cultural challenges such as low education and price fluctuations; and (4) appropriate technology such as spinner machines is suboptimal. A local triple helix empowerment model is recommended as an adaptive solution.
