Abstract

Science process skills are very important for students to apply scientific methods and develop knowledge in order to gain new knowledge or enrich existing knowledge. Science process skills can be facilitated through learning with a Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. This research aims to identify and analyze research trends of PjBL model to improve science process skill in science learning. This research method is descriptive and analytical. The data used in this research was obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar from 2015-2024 using Publish or Perish and Dimension.ai. Research procedures use PRISMA guidelines. The data identified and analyzed are the type of publication, publication source, and the title of research on PjBL model to improve science process skill in science learning that is widely cited. The data analysis method uses bibliometric analysis assisted by VOS viewer software. The results of the analysis show that research trend on PjBL model to improve science process skill in science learning indexed by Google Scholar from 2015 to 2024 has experienced a fluctuating increase. However, in 2024 there will be a decline in the research trend on it. There are many documents in the form of articles, proceedings, chapters, preprints and edited books that discuss research into the PjBL model to improve science process skill in science learning. Key words that are often used in research about it are local wisdom, inquiry model, PBL, scientific attitude, etc.

The sample for this research was taken from two classes, namely class X IPA 1 (as the experimental class) and class X IPA 2 (as the control class), each of which consisted of 22 students and 20 students who were determined by the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Then given a different treatment, the experimental class using the Discovery Learning model assisted by the Virtual Lab and the control class with conventional learning. The data used in this study used a description test, the number of questions was 21 items which had been validated by the validator. From the research results, it was obtained that the average pretest value for the experimental class was 45.54 and for the control class was 43.81. After learning was completed, the posttest was given with the average result for the experimental class was 78.14 and the control class was 72.62. The data analysis technique used is the t test after the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing, it was found that there was a significant influence of the Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery learning model on students' ability to understand physics concepts on the subject matter of work and energy.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effect of the addition of fluoride compounds on the photoluminescence properties of Tb3+ doped on phosphate glass has been found. with the composition of glass samples are 69 P2O5 - 20 LiO2 - 10 AlF3 - 1Tb2O3 (P-Tb1), 59 P2O5 - 20 LiO2 - 10 AlF3 - 10 NaF - 1 Tb2O3 (P-Tb2) and 49 P2O5 - 20 LiO2 - 10 AlF3 - 10 NaF -10KF - 1 Tb2O3 (P-Tb3). All chemical compounds are in powder form with a total mass of 15 grams using the melt-qunching technique at 11000C. To determine the quality of the material, measurements and calculations were made of physical properties including molar mass, density, molar volume, refractive index, Tb3+ ion concentration, Polaron radius, molar refractivity, reflection loss and dielectric constant. Characterizations carried out include FTIR, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer, Abbe Refractometer, Spectrofluorophotometer. To study the physical properties, the optical properties were examined through their absorption and luminescence spectra. The luminescence spectrum is known by photoluminescence. Characteristic luminescence bands corresponding to electronic transitions of terbium ions were detected under two direct excitations of Tb3+ ions. After 377 nm excitation, the glass sample obtained terbium 5D4→ 7F5 transition at 544 nm indicating green laser. The application of green laser has been investigated with CIE coordinate diagram.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a glass material based on quartz sand and borate compounds that can later be applied as a host matrix of rare earth ions as optical amplifiers. The research stages began with exploring quartz sand from Huta Ginjang, cleaning, grinding using a ball-mill and mixing with several other compounds namely Boron oxide (B(2) O3), barium oxide (BaO) and sodium oxide (Na2) O. The calculation and weighing process is carried out to obtain the mass of each compound to be used. The composition of each compound is shown through the chemical formula (x)Quartz sand + (60- x)B(2)O(3)+ 10BaO + 30Na2O (where x = 0; 2.5; 5; 10; 15; 20 mol%). The next step is the melting and molding process using the melt-quenching method. Through this experiment, a homogeneous and more transparent glass medium with optimum composition for each former and modifier compound was obtained.

Abstract

Guru Kinayan, located at the foothills of mount Sinabung in Karo regency, is characterized by several geothermal manifestations, highlighting the necessity of studying its geothermal potential. This research aims to assess the geothermal prospects of the area through 2-D electrical resistivity, geomagnetic surveys, and (XRD) methods. To acquire 2-D resistivity data, a Wenner Schlumberger array with a 5-meter electrode spacing was utilized, and the data were processed using Res2Dinv. Geomagnetic surveys were conducted using a PPM, with the results analyzed using Mag2dc and Surfer 13 to determine susceptibility results. The analysis of rock composition was performed using XRD. The 2-D resistivity results indicated resistivity values ranging from 1 to 1250 Ωm. Values between 1 and 20 Ωm indicated as alluvium, indicating a reservoir for geothermal, while resistivity values >1000 indicates as limestone, which indicated as a heat conductor. The magnetic residual map shows geomagnetic values (20 to 380 nT), suggesting a geothermal source, and the susceptibility values ranging (0.0013 x 10³ to 0.0088 x 10³) indicates the presence of igneous rocks, specifically andesite lava and pyroclastic rocks. The XRD results show arsenopirit and quartz in the geothermal area. Based on the integrated results, the study area has significant geothermal potential.
