Abstract

This research is purposed to determine the effect of guided inquiry  model to student learning outcomes   in subject dynamic electricity  in the second half of class X SMAN 12 Medan in academic year 2015/2016. The population is 9 classes and sampling by cluster random sampling. The samples consist of treatment class and control class that were randomly selectedis class X-2 (38 students) as an experimental class and a class X-4 (36 students) as a control class. The instrument used in this study there are two, the first test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice with option 5 of 15 questions that have been declared valid by the experts, the second is the observation sheet student learning activities. The research showed the average value of pretest and posttest for the experimental class was 42,46 and 77,02, while the average value for the pretest and posttest control group was 43,89 and 68,15. The  observation of learning activities of students from the first meeting to the third meeting, student learning activities for use guided inquiry model increases, in the first meeting is 57,64  (active enough), meeting II is 71,43  (active) and at meetings III is 82,21 (active). Based on test results obtained by the hypothesis that there is significant effect of guided inquiry model to student learning outcomes in subject dynamic electricity in the second half of class X SMAN 12 Medan in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Inquiry Training Model on learning outcomes of students in the subject matter of static fluid Class X SMA Negeri 1 Stabat 2nd semester 2015/2016 TP field. This research is quasi-experimental with Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. The study population were all students  of class X of  SMA Negeri 1 Stabat which consists of 10 classes with 335 students enrolled. Sample were taken from population which used cluster random sampling with 2 classes, class X2 as experimental class with 39 students enrolled and class X1 as control class with 38 students enrolled. Test instrument used is the achievement test which used to essay from 10 questions that have been validated and the observation sheets used to see the students learning activities which was observed by two observers and analyzed descriptively. The test Hypothesis used t test with . Based on the results shows the average value of the experimental class pretest = 21,47 with SD = 5,89  and control classes = 21,26 with SD = 5,84. At the prerequisite test showed that both groups of samples were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the pretest data analysis using t test showed that the abiliy of the students at the beginning of the second class of the same.  The average value of the experi-mental class post-test =70,25 with SD= 9,63 and control classes = 61,68 with SD= 8,37. The results of post-test data analysis using t-test showed that obtained that there is the effect of Inquiry Training Model on learning outcomes of students in the subject matter of static fluid Class X SMA Negeri 1 Stabat 2nd semester 2015/2016 TP field. From the observation result of student learning activities of the first meeting until the meeting IV shows that the value average of Activities the students in the experimental class at 77.15 with the active category and the average value of the activities in the control class is 50.81 with active enough category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa Kelas X Semester II pada materi pokok Suhu dan Kalor SMA Negeri 1 Stabat T.P. 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Stabat. Penarikan sampel dengan cluster random samplingyaituX MIA-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran  Model Problem Based Learning sedangkan kelas X MIA-4 sebagai kelas kontrol diajarkan dengan pembelajaran Konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah tes uraian berjumlah 10 soal. Data penelitian yaitu dalam bentuk hasil belajar. Untuk data hasil belajar diawali dengan uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Dengan data yang sudah telah berdistribusi normal dan homogen maka dilakukan uji statistik dengan uji t pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Nilai rata-rata hasil pretes kelas eksperimen adalah 28,4 dan kelas kontrol adalah 23,1. Dan nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 69,3 dan kelas kontrol 39,5. Hasil uji pretes kedua sampel antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol mempunyai kemampuan awal yang sama. Setelah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning, kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol sehingga terbukti ada pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X Semester II pada materi pokok Suhu dan Kalor SMA N 1 Stabat T.P 2015/2016.

Abstract

The measure  of success in education is not only assesed on the cognitive side, but also on the character side. Every students must have characters that adheres to the noble values of Indonesia. This  research aims to know applied Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by computer simulation with the increase of students character. This research used quasi experiment methode. The subject of this research involved three groups with each experimental group-1 that applying PBL assisted by computer simulation, the experimental group-2 applying PBL and the control group applying conventional models. The instrument of this study was a obeservation sheets and a questionnairies that measured student’s character.  The character aspects that measured in this research were self-convidence, curiosity, planned, initiative, integrity, perseverance, problem solving, and teamwork. The character’s data analyzed with gain Test (N-gain). The increase percentage of N-gain of student’s character in experiment group 1 and experiment group 2 were 34% and 32%  and respectively in medium category, but in control group, the increase was 12% , in the low category. The highest percentage increase in character of the experimental group 1 and experiment group 2 is the curiosity and the highest percentage increase in character of the control grou percentage increase in character of the is perseverance. Based on the results of the test, the application of pbl assisted by computer simulation is effective in improving student characters.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase of students' critical thinking skills in learning by using Student Worksheets (LKS) assisted by computer simulations. The worksheet used was problem based and contained questions that explore critical thinking skills. This type of research was a quasi experimental of two groups pretest-posttest design. The population of this study was all students of class X Semester I of SMA Negeri 9 Medan, which consisted of seven classes with the number of students was 243 students. The participants of this study consisted of 2 classes which used cluster random sampling technique. The first class was class of X MIA 2, 36 students, as an experimental which was treated by using student worksheets problem-based assisted by computer simulation. The second class was class X MIA 3, 32 students, as a control class which was treated by conventional learning using. The instrument used was a critical thinking test of 10 questions in the form of problem-based description. Based on the results of different tests, this study obtained significant differences on students 'critical thinking skills by using problem-based worksheets assisted by computer simulations. In other words the implementation of learning by using problem-based student worksheets was better in increasing students' critical thinking skills than conventional learning. Percentage increase in N-gain of critical thinking experimental class 64% and control class 43%, respectively - medium category.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is a solution of fermented organic matter derived from animal waste, plant residues, and humans. Using POCs in plants stimulates the better growth of stems, leaves, fruits, and seeds. This PKM activity aims to train partners of the "Aneka Tanaman" farmer group to use organic waste and chicken slaughter waste as liquid organic fertilizers. The main ingredients for making this POC are organic waste and cut waste obtained from the MMTC Medan market. The appropriate technology applied for the manufacture of this POC is a composter. The method of implementing the activities carried out is the P3 approach, namely planning, training, and mentoring. The activity results show that partners have the skills to process and utilize chicken slaughter waste and organic waste as liquid organic fertilizer. Using POC can reduce agricultural production costs; the selling price of farm products with POC is higher than using chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

This community partnership program (PKM) activity aims to train and assist farmer group partners "Kelomtawar" to make liquid organic fertilizer (POC) based on organic waste at the MMTC Medan market. Organic waste in the form of vegetables and fruits obtained from the MMTC Medan market is used as the main raw material for making POC. In this activity, technology transfer is carried out in the form of appropriate technology for processing POC, namely composter. The method of implementing the activities carried out is the P3 approach, namely planning, training, and mentoring. The result of PKM activities is the increased knowledge of partners in making POCs based on organic waste. The use of organic waste-based POCs can reduce agricultural production costs for partner groups.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine student activity during the learning process using the Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery learning model on the subject matter of work and energy, (2) determine the effect of the Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery learning model on students' ability to understand physics concepts on the subject matter of effort and energy in class X semester II SMA Sw. Dharma Bhakti Siborongborong Academic Year 2022/2023.This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Sw. Dharma Bhakti Siborongborong in even semester T.A. 2022/2023. The sample for this research was taken from two classes, namely class X IPA 1 (as the experimental class) and class X IPA 2 (as the control class), each of which consisted of 22 students and 20 students who were determined by the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Then given a different treatment, the experimental class using the Discovery Learning model assisted by the Virtual Lab and the control class with conventional learning. The data used in this study used a description test, the number of questions was 21 items which had been validated by the validator.From the research results, it was obtained that the average pretest value for the experimental class was 45.54 and for the control class was 43.81. After learning was completed, the posttest was given with the average result for the experimental class was 78.14 and the control class was 72.62. The data analysis technique used is the t test after the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing, it was found that there was a significant influence of the Virtual Lab-assisted Discovery learning model on students' ability to understand physics concepts on the subject matter of work and energy.
