Abstract

The development of the fishing industry in Majene Regency, such as the increasing number of fishermen, the increasing number of Rumah Tangga Perikanan (RTP) catch, and the increase in fishery production are not proportional to the condition of the existing port facilities. The facilities at Majene Port are not utilized due to the damaged condition of the facilities and the poor arrangement of the area. This study aims to plan and design a Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan (PPI) in Majene Port by applying the concept of Biophilic Design. The research method used is primary data collection by means of field surveys/observations and interviews, secondary data collection is carried out by collecting data on literature studies, journals or scientific works related to titles, books, reading materials related to titles, and other literature. Rxploratory data collection in the form of the results of primary data analysis and secondary data. The planning of the Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan (PPI) at Majene Port is expected to empower fishermen and fishmonger, from providing more adequate fish landing base facilities and good area arrangement by using the biophilic concept to remove the community's bad perspective about the unpleasant odor at the fish landing base.

Abstract

Marble is a type of metamorphic rock, a transitional rock from limestone that changes due to changes in temperature and pressure from endogenous forces. Marble stones are found in caves or mountains in East Java, Aceh, Lampung, West Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, and South Sulawesi. Pangkep Regency in South Sulawesi is a highly productive area for the development of the marble industry. This city has many unique marble mining traditions that will inspire future action. Due to Law No.4/2009 concerning mineral and coal mining, which allows mining companies to process mining products domestically and ban the export of raw materials, only a few marble mines survive to produce marble. So, a center was used to accommodate the processing of marble mining products spread across Pangkep Regency so that they could be exported abroad and increase the selling value of these marble handicraft products. Sourced from several potentials and problems, it is necessary to design a building that becomes a landmark that reflects local culture so that it can become a new icon for Pangkep Regency as a city producing the best marble handicrafts in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the agricultural products included as Indonesia's superior product. Indonesian coffee is ranked fourth in the world in terms of its production output level. One of the most significant coffee production in South Sulawesi Province is located in Enrekang Regency. Arabica Coffee production in Enrekang Regency can reach above 1000 tons per year. With the existence of this Coffee Processing Center, it is also hoped to encourage economic growth and introduce the quality of the taste of Enrekang coffee beans so that they can become the leading commodity of South Sulawesi Province. By applying the concept of neo-vernacular architecture, it is intended that professionally managed coffee processing centers can prioritize modern management without leaving the local architectural aspects of Massenrempulu or Enrekang. The result of applying the vernacular concept to the processing building is an opening in the shape of the roof of the Enrekang house

Abstract

Abstract Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial and strategic role in national economic development. Besides contributing to economic growth and job creation, MSMEs also distribute the results of development. This research aims to design an MSME Center in Nunukan Regency using a contextual architecture approach. The design methodology includes collecting primary data through field observations and secondary data through literature and precedent studies. Site selection considers factors such as land use, circulation, infrastructure, supporting facilities, and strategic location. From the three alternatives, the chosen location is on Ujang Dewa Street, Selisun, South Nunukan District, in accordance with the criteria and Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). The design focuses on the skills and creativity of MSMEs in Nunukan Regency. This MSME Center is expected to become a hub for fulfilling daily needs and souvenirs for both local and wider communities, as well as stimulating economic revival. The central MSME design aims to enrich elements that reflect Nunukan's distinctive characteristics, aligning with the contextual architectural approach.

Abstract

Abstract_ The increasing number of elderly people in Indonesia each year presents a significant challenge for both the government and society. One of the issues arising from this demographic shift is the growing population of neglected elderly individuals, categorized as part of the social welfare problem (PMKS), who require special attention to ensure they have a decent quality of life. Therefore, designing a safe and comfortable residential facility for neglected elderly individuals is crucial. This study aims to design a housing facility that meets these needs, providing a dignified living space while supporting the well-being of the elderly. The research employs an architectural design approach, analyzing the spatial requirements suitable for neglected elderly people while considering safety and comfort factors. The results indicate that the proposed design can provide spaces that meet the physical and psychological needs of the elderly, while also emphasizing accessibility and security. According to data from the Social Services Office of Majene Regency, the number of neglected elderly individuals was recorded at 172 in 2019, 128 in 2020, and increased to 279 in 2021, highlighting the urgent need for residential facilities for neglected elderly people.

Abstract

In the field of architecture, the concept of organic architecture emphasizes environmental aspects and harmony between a building and its site. The four main characteristics of organic architecture implementation are creating unique buildings that express their relationship with nature both externally and internally, selecting materials that align with their natural properties to create harmony with the surrounding environment, ensuring building elements blend well together, and the ability to communicate the time, place, and purpose of the design. This study aims to investigate the application of organic architecture in culinary tourism as a way to showcase regional uniqueness through distinctive local cuisine. The research methods include field data collection on physical environmental conditions, literature review on culinary tourism from books, journals, theses, and online sources, as well as examination of precedent buildings. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive techniques with reference to organic architecture planning and design guidelines. The findings indicate that applying organic architecture in culinary tourism can strengthen a region’s identity and uniqueness by offering local dishes prepared by the community. Therefore, culinary tourism based on organic architecture plays a significant role in enhancing the potential of unique local tourism.

Abstract

Travel is very important to reduce stress because traveling is now one of the most popular things among daily activities. South Sulawesi is one of the provinces in Indonesia whose tourism sector is growing rapidly. Sembilan Island, which consists of nine small islands or islets, is located in Sinjai Regency and is one of the places to visit in South Sulawesi. This island is only 12 miles from the center of Sinjai City. In the process of designing a resort hotel, it is important to understand the design approach needed and the design foundations needed. The research methods used are data collection methods and data analysis methods. Data collection methods consist of field surveys, literature research, and precedent research, while data analysis methods are processing or analyzing data that has been collected to help the next planning process. These two methods will help determine the formulation of the problem and how the principles of green building design are implemented through the EDGE method. The results of this study aim to apply design with site analysis that meets so as to produce building design output that can adapt to the surrounding environment. From the research results, it can also be concluded that in this research process, it will be carried out as a design method for the design of the Larea-rea Island resort hotel in Sinjai Regency with the theme of applying the EDGE method, which applies the principle of green building to create sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings using renewable energy, namely solar photovoltaic with a roof area of 1,032.79 m² and a power of 150.99 kWp; the second is material efficiency, namely the use of light steel and wood materials on the roof of the building; and the third is water saving, namely grey water wastewater treatment.
