Abstract

Work accidents often occur in every company, where the situation can occur due to environmental factors or worker negligence, most cases occur due to worker negligence, where they do not realize how dangerous it is if they do not follow work safety regulations (K3). Employees who often neglect work safety are young workers who have just graduated from high school (SMA), where they have no experience in the field, so they are not yet aware of the importance of work safety. Therefore, a solution that is not too heavy is needed, but very effective, namely infographics. The purpose of this design is to make workers more aware of work safety, considering that young people often use cellphones to view social media, of course infographics are the right way so that information can be conveyed properly. The research methodology for collecting data is using descriptive qualitative research methods in the form of literature studies to fulfill the main foundation data such as the case that occurred at PT X, conducting interviews with young workers who are potential resource persons, distributing questionnaires to young workers related to the topic.

Abstract

The global spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has not only had an impact on the business world, but also had a major impact on the world of education, social and cultural. This also has an impact on the implementation of community social activities and social communities in the community in carrying out their activities such as conducting seminars online. Responding to this, the ITEBA research team is always committed to contributing to the development of youth in Batam City by providing material support in various online activities carried out by the community and youth in Batam City. In cooperation with the Ikatan Pemuda Karya (IPK) Pulau Bawah organization, the ITEBA team was also active in the implementation of the COVID webinar, education through posters and giving out groceries in several locations in Batam. A total of 17 districts in Batam were helped by the donation of groceries and the CSR of Pulau Bawah Resort and ITEBA. The activities carried out in addition to helping the economy of people affected by COVID also build cooperation and initiatives of the Ikatan Pemuda Karya organization during the pandemic.

Abstract

Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv is a brand design firm in New York City, United States specialising in visual identities. Since established in 1957, the firm has succeeded in creating the most recognisable visual identities and logos such as Mobil, NBC Television, Warner Bros Discovery, Open US, and many more. Their memorable logo works have earned the firm a good reputation on a global scale. Therefore, this research aims to analyse the quality of the firm’s work through portfolio observation techniques using semiotics theory. The results showed that the success of the firm's visual identity works departed from simplicity, and the simplicity of logo designs in this technological era has slowly begun to fade. With this research, it is hoped that readers, especially visual identity designers, can gain insight into how to create distinctive and memorable visual identity works through simplicity.
