Abstract

The new normal era during the COVID-19 pandemic has presented opportunities and challenges for SMEs. This study aimed to determine the effects of absorptive capacity and innovation capability on business performance. The research involved 189 creative SMEs owners in Malang City. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The data analysis used partial least squares using high-order construction. The results showed that absorptive capacity significantly affects business performance, and absorptive capacity significantly affects innovation capability. However, innovation capability had no significant effect on business performance. Innovation capability has also not been proven to influence Absorptive Capacity and Business Performance indirectly. The practical implication is that SMEs owners should develop the absorptive capacity to reach, assimilate, and acquire new knowledge to achieve better SMEs performance. Simultaneously, innovation capability does not automatically improve SMEs' performance. SMEs need extra effort to produce innovations that are rare, unique, and difficult to imitate to survive the new normal era. Kata Kunci : absorptive capacity, innovation capability, business performance, SMEs, new normal.

Abstract

Banjarbaru city government's efforts to improve the development of tourist destinations by enacting Banjarbaru City Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2019 concerning the 2019-2034 Regional Tourism Development Master Plan. However, the implementation of the tourist destination development plan has not been fully achieved. The existence of gaps or gaps in the implementation of the development of tourist destinations, especially Kampung Sayur  tourism in Banjarbaru City, is influenced by resource factors which include human resources and facility resources, so the needs of tourist destinations have not been fulfilled. Namely attractions, accessibility, facilities and additional services. This study aims to determine the gaps in policy implementation in the development of Kampung Sayur thematic tourism in Banjarbaru City. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The collection technique was carried out through observation in Kampung Sayur and interviews with several informants, including: (1) employees of the Department of Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism of Banjarbaru City; (2) the Head of Agriculture and Plantation Service of Central Ulin Village. The results of the study stated that the development of Kampung Sayur tourism in the North Ulin District had not been carried out. This is influenced by several inhibiting factors, including the absence of Kampung Sayur tourism center, the absence of vacant land owned by the government village for infrastructure development as a means of supporting tourists, the absence of public transportation access, and the absence of Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS).

Abstract

Purpose - This study aims to prove the impact of the distribution of social funds (qardhul hasan-QH and zakah funds) on the cost of a Profit-Sharing Investment Account (PSIA) immediately and for a long period in Islamic banks.Method - The research is based on panel data from 11 Islamic commercial banks (IB) in Indonesia from 2009 to 2021. Data were analyzed using the generalized least squares (GLS) random-effects method with robust standard error.Result - This research proves that the distribution of social funds (the distribution of QH and zakah funds) has a positive economic impact in the short period but the distribution of social funds has a negative economic impact in the long period.Implication - This study contributes to bank directors in considering the social activities of banks funded by QH funds by considering the effectiveness of social fund distribution, hence having positive economic consequences for bank performance.Originality - This research contributes to the development of previous literature in two ways. First, we use CSR performance proxies that are different from previous studies, namely the distribution of QH and zakah funds. The distribution of these funds is a proof of the bank's legitimacy to care about social, economic, and environmental issues. Second, we use the cost of PSIA as an economic consequence of CSR performance.

Abstract

Formulating a youth mainstreaming strategy in village tourism management through village-owned enterprises (BUM Desa) is the purpose of this study. The type of qualitative research using process hierarchy analysis is used in this study. Data collection is carried out through three stages and produces a possible strategic direction to take. The results of this study found that there are five alternative strategies for youth mainstreaming in village tourism development. SWOT analysis shows that the elements of strengths and opportunities must be optimized through digital marketing diversification strategies and human resources capacity building. Meanwhile, internal and external problems must be addressed by increasing collaboration and making policies that support the sustainable management of BUM Desa. This research has limitations in the number of informants used with expert judgment considerations; in the future, hopefully, the next research will be more representative of the number of BUM Desa in Malang Regency.
