Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Mimosa invisa L. weed extract application and a low dose of NPK fertilizer on the intensity of pest attack and pathogen infection on upland rice. This research has been done using Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot was the dose of NPK fertilizer (50% and 100% NPK). The subplot was the concentration of weed extract (0, 1.25, 1.67, 2.5, and 5% concentrations). The variables observed include the intensity of grasshopper and case worm attack, Cercospora sp. that causes brown spots, and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae that causes bacterial leaf blight. The results showed that the application of weed extract under a low dose (50% NPK) has not been able to suppress the intensity of grasshopper and case worm attacks, and the intensity of the pathogen causes brown spots and bacterial leaf blight. However, 2,5% and 5% concentrations of weed extract can potentially suppress pathogen infection that causes brown spots on upland rice. Abstract

The study aimed to determine the dynamics of soil moisture in various standing water levels and dosages of organic fertilizer. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with a 3 × 3 factorial treatment in 3 replicates. The first factor was 3 different water levels, namely 10 cm (T1), 20 cm (T2), and 30 cm (T3). The second factor was 3 levels of dosages of organic fertilizer, namely 0 g pot-1(P1), 35 g pot-1 (P2), and 70 g pot-1 (P3). The highest of soil moisture was obtained in the 10 cm water levels and 70 g organic fertilizer (T1P3) and the lowest in the 30 cm water levels and without organic fertilizer (T3P1). The highest infiltration rate was obtained in the 30 cm water levels and 70 g pot-1 organic fertilizer (T3P3), the 30 cm water levels and 35 g pot-1 organic fertilizer (T3P2), the 20 cm water levels and 70 g pot-1 organic fertilizer (T2P3), and the lowest in the combination of the 10 cm water levels and without organic fertilizer (T1P1). The highest capillary rate was obtained in the combination of the 30 cm water levels and 70 g organic fertilizer (T3P3) and the lowest in the combination of the 30 cm water levels and without organic fertilizer (T3P1).

Abstract

Colletotrichum capsici dan C. gloeospoiroides adalah jamur patogen penting pada cabai merah yang dapatmenurunkan produktivitas. Upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini yaitu dengan pengendalian hayatimenggunakan Bacillus subtilis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui daya hambat lima isolat B.subtilis yaituB46, B209, B211, B298, dan B315 terhadap patogen C. capsici dan C. gloeospoiroides asal tanaman cabai.Percobaan laboratorium dilakukan berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 ulangan. Pengujian in vitrodilakukan menggunakan teknik dual culture pada medium PDA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efektifitaspenghambatan C.capsici paling baik pada isolat B209 sebesar 34,25%. Efektifitas penghambatan C.gloeospoiroides pada isolat B211 sebesar 28,89%. Efektifitas penghambatan berpengaruh pada bobot keringmisellium dan morfologi hifa C. capsici dan C. gloeospoiroides. Morfologi hifa C. capsici dan C. gloeospoiroidesmengalami lisis, menebal, dan membengkak.Kata kunci: C. capsici, C. gloeospoiroides, B. subtilis, antagonistik, daya hambatABSTRACTColletotrichum capsici and C. gloeospoiroides are an important pathogen on red chili pepper and causedproductivity losses. Biological control using B. subtilis is an attempt to solve the problem. The objectives of thisstudy is to determines the inhibition ability of five B. subtilis isolates, i.e. B46, B209, B211, B298, dan B315against C. capsici and C. gloeospoiroides pathogens from chili pepper. Laboratory experinments arranged incomplete randomized design with five replication. Dual culture method used PDA medium on in vitro test. Resultshowed the best inhibition effectiveness of C.capsici on B209 isolates at 34.25%. The best inhibition effectivenessof C. gloeospoiroides on B211 isolates at 28,89%. The inhibition effectiveness affects mycellium dry weight andhypha morphology of C. capsici and C. gloeospoiroides. Hypha morphology of C. capsici and C. gloeospoiroidesis lysis, thickening, and swelling.Key words: C. capsici, C. gloeospoiroides, B. subtilis, antagonistic, inhibitor ability

Abstract

Bacterial wilt on tomato caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is a crucial disease, because it can reduce yield until 50%. The aims of this research were: 1) to find out biopesticide formula for Bacillus sp.growth, 2) to test Bacillus sp. against R. solanacearum in vitro, 3) to test potassium fertilizer combined with Bacillus sp. for enhancing tomato resistance to the bacterial wilt disease. The research was conducted in 2 steps i.e to test the persistence of Bacillus sp. In biopesticide formula, and to test the best combination of both potassium and the Bacillus sp. biopesticide. The results showed that Bacillus B298 was the best isolate in its persistence on the biopesticide formula of organic growth medium+CaCO3+CMC 1%+mannitol 1%, and in inhibiting R. solanacearum. The best biopesticide formula for the Bacillus sp. persistence was growth organic media+ CaCO3+CMC 1%+mannitol 1%. Bacillus sp. was able to increase tomato resistance to the bacterial wilt disease from the category of susceptible to be tolerant and becoming resistant.Keywords: tomato, Ralstonia solanacearum, potassium and Bacillus sp.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas formula cair air cucian beras dan formula padat tepung tapioka berbasis Bacillus sp. BM1 dan BM3 dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan bawang merah varietas Bima Brebes. Lokasi penelitian di Desa Linggasari, Kecamatan Kembaran, Kabupaten Banyumas. Data yang digunakan berupa data primer yang diambil selama waktu penelitian berlangsung dari bulan Mei 2024 – Oktober 2024. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) non faktorial yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan, yaitu K (kontrol), A (formula cair air cucian beras Bacillus sp. BM1), B (formula cair air cucian beras Bacillus sp. BM3), C (formula padat tepung tapioka Bacillus sp. BM1), dan D (formula padat tepung tapioka Bacillus sp. BM1). Setiap perlakuan akan diulang sebanyak 5 kali, sehingga terdapat 25 petak perlakuan. Jumlah tanaman sampel setiap perlakuan adalah 15, sehingga terdapat 375 tanaman. Data yang berdistribusi normal dan homogen dianalisis dengan uji ragam atau analysis of variance (ANOVA). Apabila berpengaruh nyata diuji lanjut dengan BNT pada taraf 5%. Menggunakan aplikasi Ms. Excel Office 2021, SPSS 27, dan aplikasi DSAASTAT 1.101. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa formula biopestisida Bacillus sp. BM1, BM3 baik formula cair air cucian beras dan padat tepung tapioka mampu sebagai pemacu pertumbuhan pada tanaman bawang merah Bima Brebes. Abstract

Jagung merupakan bahan pangan pokok masyarakat Indonesia serta dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak ataupun unggas. Produksi jagung di dunia menempati urutan ketiga setelah padi dan gandum. Kecamatan Sumbang merupakan Kecamatan di Kabupaten Banyumas yang mempunyai luas pertanaman jagung tertinggi pada tahun 2015. Kendala dalam usaha budidaya jagung diantaranya adalah adanya penyakit. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat serangan bulai pada jagung di dua ketinggian tempat yang berbeda di Kabupaten Banyumas. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi patogen penyebab penyakit bulai pada jagung dan membandingkan kerusakan jagung karena penyakit bulai di dua ketinggian tempat. Penelitian menggunakan metode Stratified Purposive Random Sampling, di lahan tanaman jagung Kabupaten Banyumas pada dua ketinggian tempat yaitu di Kelurahan Karangwangkal (114 mdpl) dan Desa Sikapat (355 mdpl). Setiap lahan dibagi menjadi 5 titik dan setiap titik diambil 10 sampel tanaman. Patogen yang menyebabkan penyakit bulai di Kelurahan Karangwangkal dan Desa Sikapat disebabkan oleh Peronosclerospora maydis. Kerusakan tanaman akibat penyakit bulai di Kelurahan Karangwangkal dan Desa Sikapat termasuk dalam kategori serangan berat dan sama antara dua ketinggian. Intensitas penyakit di Kelurahan Karangwangkal yaitu 61% dan di Desa Sikapat yaitu 51%.
