Abstract

Communication and correspondence skills in the digital space are crucial in the digital era. Professional communication via email and other digital media has become an integral part of academic life and the workplace. Therefore, the Office Administration Program at the Faculty of Business, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya, in collaboration with St. Louis 2 Catholic High School, organized a Community Service Program (Abdimas) to enhance students' digital correspondence skills and communication ethics. In this program, students were taught how to create and manage emails professionally, including writing emails with proper structure, using appropriate language, and applying communication ethics. Additionally, the training emphasized the importance of communication ethics, both oral and written, such as polite telephone etiquette, handling formal correspondence, and understanding the norms of professional communication. The results of this training showed that students gained a better understanding of the significance of professional digital communication, which will help them in pursuing further education or entering the workforce.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the ability of educational staff at Yayasan Lazaris, Surabaya, in writing official letters in accordance with the standards outlined in Ministerial Regulation No. 3 of 2021. The training was conducted in two sessions: theoretical and practical, and included a pre-test and post-test assessment. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' competence in understanding official letter formats and using email for formal correspondence. This program has proven to be applicable, relevant, and impactful in strengthening administrative governance and supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Abstract

Digital literacy is crucial for older adults to maintain independence and social connectedness. However, skill gaps, psychosocial barriers, and limited adaptive communication strategies hinder their participation. This article aims to develop a communication strategy framework based on Bandura’s Social Learning Theory to enhance elderly digital literacy learning. The study employs a targeted theoretical review of five relevant studies from Scopus, SpringerLink, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and DOAJ. The thematic synthesis identifies six key strategies: presenting relatable role models, providing verbal and emotional reinforcement, creating supportive learning environments, using real-life scenarios, strengthening outcome expectations, and applying personalized adaptive approaches. Each strategy is linked to Bandura’s core components: observational learning, modeling, and the strengthening of self-efficacy. Bandura's Social Learning Theory as a communication strategy is important in empowering the elderly to face the challenges of the digital world because it builds their intrinsic motivation to learn and strengthens their self-confidence. ABSTRAK Literasi digital menjadi kebutuhan krusial bagi lansia untuk mempertahankan kemandirian dan keterhubungan sosial. Namun, kesenjangan keterampilan, hambatan psikososial, dan keterbatasan komunikasi edukatif adaptif menghambat partisipasi mereka. Artikel ini bertujuan menyusun kerangka strategi komunikasi berbasis Teori Pembelajaran Sosial Bandura untuk memperkuat pembelajaran literasi digital lansia. Kajian dilakukan melalui targeted theoretical review terhadap lima studi relevan dari basis data Scopus, SpringerLink, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, dan DOAJ. Analisis sintesis mengidentifikasi enam strategi utama: menghadirkan model sebagai teladan, penguatan verbal dan emosional, penciptaan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung, penggunaan skenario kehidupan nyata, penguatan outcome expectations, serta pendekatan personal dan adaptif. Setiap strategi terkait dengan komponen utama Bandura, yaitu observational learning, modeling, dan penguatan self-efficacy. Teori Pembelajaran Sosial Bandura sebagai strategi komunikasi menjadi penting dalam memberdayakan lansia dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia digital karena membangun motivasi intrinsik lansia untuk belajar dan memperkuat rasa percaya diri.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengalisis Penggunaan TI pada Tenaga Kependidikan Sekolah milik Perkumpulan Dharmaputri melalui Model Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. Secara spesifik tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk (1) menguji pengaruh Ekspektasi Kinerja terhadap Niat Keperilakuan, (2) menguji pengaruh Ekspektasi Usaha terhadap Niat Keperilakuan, (3) menguji pengaruh Pengaruh Sosial terhadap Niat Keperilakuan, (4) menguji pengaruh Kondisi-kondisi Pemfasilitasi terhadap Perilaku Menggunakan, dan (5) menguji pengaruh Niat Keperilakuan terhadap Perilaku Menggunakan. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksplanatory research. Metode pengambilan sampel dengan metode nonprobability sampling. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah sensus. Terdapat 65 responden dalam penelitian ini. Metode analisis data menggunakan Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Ekspektasi Kinerja tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Niat Keperilakuan. (2) Ekspektasi Usaha berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Niat Keperilakuan. (3) Pengaruh Sosial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Niat Keperilakuan. (4) Kondisi-kondisi Pemfasilitasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Perilaku Menggunakan. (5) Niat Keperilakuan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Perilaku Menggunakan.   Kata kunci: Model UTAUT, Penggunaan Teknologi Informasi, Tenaga Kependidikan, GSCA.   ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the use of IT in academic staff of schools belonging Perkumpulan Dharmaputri via Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model. Specifically the purpose of this study was to (1) examine the effect of Performance Expectancy on Behavioral Intentions, (2) examine the effect of Effort Expectancy on Behavioral Intentions, (3) examine the effect of Social Influence influence on Behavioral Intention, (4) examine the effect of Fasilitating Conditions on Using Behavioral, and (5) examine the effect of Behavioral Intention on Using Behavioral. This research is explanatory research. Sampling methods is nonprobability sampling method. Sampling technique used is census. There were 65 respondents in this study. Methods of data analysis using Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) results of this study indicate that (1) Performance Expectancy no significant effect on Behavioral Intention. (2) Effort Expectancy significant effect on Behavioral Intention. (3) Social Influence significant effect on Behavioral Intention. (4) Facilitating Conditions significantly effect on Usage Behavior. (5) Behavioral Intention significantly effect on Usage Behavior. Key words: UTAUT Model, Use of Information Technology, Academic Staff, GSCA.

Abstract

In today’s era of globalization, digital transformation, and increasingly competitive job markets, high school (SMA) and vocational school (SMK) students are expected to excel not only in academics but also in essential life skills. Abilities such as managing digital information and communicating professionally are now critical assets for building a career and achieving independence. Unfortunately, many graduates still face a gap between the skills they have and what the professional world requires. For instance, they often lack proficiency in productive digital tools like Microsoft Excel and have little awareness of the importance of developing a personal digital brand through platforms such as LinkedIn or professional email. To address this gap, the Professional Life Skills Training program was introduced as a strategic initiative to help SMAK St. Louis 2 students grow holistically and strengthen their future competitiveness. This training goes beyond teaching technical skills; it also fosters the mindset and attitudes needed to thrive in the 21st-century workplace.
