Abstract

Kata Kunci: Dakwah, Pluralitas The plurality of Indonesia citizens is one of big challenges for doing the Dakwah. The two of them are also a situation and local state. The arrival of Islam in archipelago shows on how Islam is not only diffused, but also accepted, adapted, dan gives a big influence over interaction patterns in citizens. The thought of Madjid Dakwah in normative aspect or conceptual refers from what is called as Dakwah “trilogi” which is al-da’wah ilâ al-khayr, amar ma’rûf, and nahy munkar. Further more, to do Dakwah and amar ma’ruf nahi mungkar in Madjid’s thought is not only seen as a verbal-communication activity through lecture, but also to reach the political meanings that can be seen from its thought of loyal opposition and checks and balances. Instead of all cendikiawan, Madjid higlights into the important role of religious institutions and citizens including of youth organization in doing their Dakwah in general. The other elements in Dakwah process is mâddah or Dakwah materials. Mâddah dakwah is a message or materials that is diffused by da’i in mad’û. The Dakwah materials are about all Islam’s lectures that are based on Al-Quran and Sunnah Rasul encompassing of Aqidah, Syari’ah, and Akhlak. From Madjid’s thought can be seen that he has a concept and notion of Dakwah. Madjid can summary three things from all his Dakwah materials or religious message that are Islamisme, Modernisme, and Indonesiaisme. This tipology can be also known as Dakwah “Madaniah” or Dakwah “Civil Society”. Keywords: Da’wa, Plurality

Abstract

This research aims to explore the integration of Lev Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) theory in the context of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and character-building, focusing particularly on fostering student autonomy. The study addresses the need for a more holistic educational approach in IRE and character-building, which emphasizes transmitting religious knowledge and values and cultivates essential life skills like independence. This literature study employs qualitative descriptive methods, analyzes learning materials in IRE and character-building textbooks, and evaluates how these materials support students in their ZPD. Results indicate that this education is crucial in instilling honest, responsible, and independent behavior involving physical, economic, intellectual, moral decision-making, and spiritual aspects. However, several sub-indicators of independence are not yet fully integrated into the curriculum, indicating room for further development. Applying ZPD in learning depicts a dynamic and interactive approach, with teachers acting as active facilitators. This research highlights the need for IRE and character-building teachers to utilize ZPD to enhance student understanding and independence, focusing on the practical application of Islamic values in daily life. This study opens new insights in Islamic education literature, emphasizing significant and applicable learning, and supports the development of independent individuals, both in action and belief. Consequently, this education reinforces the internalization of religious and moral values, shaping competent and independent individuals in modern society.

Abstract

Aluk Todolo, customary teaching in the rural area of Bastem Utara, constitutes a legacy of a tradition different from Islamic teachings but with values that significantly contribute to children's education in Muslim families. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research location is in Dampan Village, North Bastem District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The research subjects involved traditional leaders, Islamic religious leaders, and Muslim families who were selected randomly. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Data analysis is done by organizing, interpreting and presenting the data narratively, followed by drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is maintained through the application of source triangulation. The research findings reveal that integrating Aluk Todolo cultural practices in educating Muslim families in Dampan Village fosters moral values and social harmony. Massipa' Namadarana (noble character) and Situtu Nene' (lineage) combine local traditions with religious teachings, strengthen family ties, and promote tolerance. The Rambu Tuka' ceremony (thanksgiving ceremony) displays the unity of culture and religion, enriching the education and life of Muslim families. These findings highlight the importance of integrating local cultural values and religious teachings in building a harmonious, tolerant, inclusive society. This provides insight for policymakers and educational practitioners to adopt educational approaches based on the richness of local culture while promoting universal values of tolerance and cooperation. This study highlights the importance of preserving religious traditions and rituals as an effective tool for promoting diversity and shared understanding in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study explores the strategies implemented by the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) in strengthening religious harmony and examines the challenges encountered in their application. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of Bakesbangpol’s initiatives. The findings reveal that Bakesbangpol employs a multifaceted approach, including interfaith dialogues, conflict prevention mechanisms, community engagement, and public education campaigns, all aimed at fostering understanding and reducing tensions among diverse religious communities. Interfaith dialogues and the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) play pivotal roles in mediating conflicts and promoting peaceful coexistence. However, the study also identifies significant challenges, such as deep-rooted social prejudices, the spread of misinformation on social media, and resource limitations that hinder the full realization of religious harmony. Despite these obstacles, Bakesbangpol’s efforts have positively impacted community relations, highlighting the importance of proactive and collaborative government-led strategies in managing religious diversity. The study concludes with recommendations to enhance these initiatives through expanded dialogue programs, improved digital literacy, strengthened community engagement, and increased resource allocation to ensure sustainable interfaith harmony.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of school principals’ managerial competence on teacher instructional effectiveness in a religious-based secondary school (madrasah) in Indonesia. Managerial competence is conceptualized across three core dimensions: conceptual skills (strategic planning), human skills (interpersonal relations and motivation), and technical skills (administrative and instructional support). Employing a quantitative ex post facto design, data were collected from 16 teachers using structured questionnaires, non-intrusive observations, and document analysis. Linear regression analysis revealed a significant and positive relationship between principals’ managerial competence and teacher effectiveness (R² = 0.457, p = 0.002), with both variables rated in the "very high" category. The findings support transformational and instructional leadership theories and emphasize the strategic role of managerial competence in enhancing teaching quality. This study contributes practical insights for educational policymakers and leadership development programs, particularly in resource-constrained school environments. However, limitations related to sample size and self-reporting suggest caution in generalizing the results. Future research should examine additional factors influencing teacher performance to build a more comprehensive model. This study provides a novel, component-based analysis of leadership influence in religious-based schools, an area rarely addressed in leadership literature.
