Abstract

This study analyzes the slang used by Twitter users during the Millennial era. The research aims to identify and classify the types of slang words and their functions. It employs qualitative methods, gathering slang data from tweets by Twitter users. The analysis is based on two theories: Abdul Chaer's theory, which categorizes word forms, and Patridge's theory, which explains the functions of slang on Twitter. The study identifies and classifies slang into four categories: basic words, derivative words, acronyms, and abbreviations. In total, 65 slang words were found, including 21 basic words, 6 derivative words, 9 acronyms, and 28 abbreviations. The study also identifies five functions of slang on Twitter: for jokes or fun, to appear unique and modern, to enhance readability and aesthetics, to avoid formalities, and to expand vocabulary.

Abstract

The high poverty rate in DIY requires efforts to increase people's income. Some things that need to be done are creating jobs for people in the lower classes, increasing farmers' income, and increasing the income of small businesses. Poverty alleviation programs need to be held by the conditions of the target community and their environment. Based on the monographic data obtained, it is known that the majority of residents in RW 18, Baciro Subdistrict, make their living as laborers and small traders, MSMEs in RW 18, Baciro Subdistrict are still not developed, homemakers in RW 18, Baciro Subdistrict are still unemployed, and less productive. Most homemakers need help generating income to help with household finances. For this reason, activities are needed to empower the community, especially homemakers, to earn income to meet family needs. Homemakers need to be encouraged to be more creative by making products that have economic value. This community service activity aims to improve the entrepreneurial abilities of homemakers in RW 18 Baciro Village. Service activities are carried out in the form of counseling about the importance of developing skills in the field of entrepreneurship, followed by training on how to make Ecoprints that are economically valuable. Furthermore, in the third stage, digital content creation and online marketing training were carried out to support promoting and marketing eco-print products. As a result of this PKM activity, homemakers in RW18, Baciro Village, Gondokusuman District, Yogyakarta, know and understand the importance and benefits of entrepreneurship and have skills in making economically valuable eco prints. However, forming an ecoprint business group and entrepreneurship counseling activities are still needed Intense.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara agraris yang sebagian besar penduduknya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani. Selain memiliki lahan yang subur dan luas, faktor geografis Indonesia memungkinkan berbagai macam tanaman dapat tumbuh subur. Namun disisi lain, meminimalisir kerusakan lingkungan merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam kegiatan pertanian. Contoh kerusakan lingkungan yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh aktivitas pertanian adalah seperti pencemaran air, pencemaran tanah, dan perubahan iklim. Jawa Tengah merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia dan memiliki 40 SMK dengan program kejuruan Agribisnis Tanaman Pangan dan Holtikultura. Salah satu di antaranya adalah SMK Suwakul Ungaran. Berkaitan dengan isu kerusakan lingkungan dalam kegiatan pertanian, sekolah sejatinya perlu mendidik siswa agar memiliki sikap untuk mendukung pelestarian alam dan lingkungan. Perencanaan lingkungan binaan yang berpusat pada lingkungan dikenal dengan istilah arsitektur ekologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis prinsip-prinsip arsitektur ekologi di lingkungan sekolah menengah kejuruan SMK Suwakul Ungaran. Hasil yang didapatkan dari studi ini adalah bahwa untuk meminimalisir timbulan pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan dapat masih dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan penerapan prinsip arsitektur ekologi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan di SMK Suwakul Ungaran.

Abstract

Enhancing EFL Vocabulary Mastery via Wordwall.net: A Mixed-Methods Study on Achievement and Student Challenges. Objective: This study explores Wordwall.net, an online learning platform, to enhance students' English vocabulary and identify the challenges they encounter. Methods: This study employed a mixed-methods approach, involving twenty-five students from the Grade X Pharmacy Department at SMK YPKK 1 Sleman. The study aimed to gather quantitative data (pre-tests and post-tests) to measure vocabulary mastery, including spelling dictation, word translation, and collocation in sentences. Meanwhile, semi-structured interviews were conducted to gather qualitative data on the challenges of using the platform from six students, using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings: The results show a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery, with the average score increasing from 55.76 in the pre-test to 87 in the post-test. Moreover, Wordwall.net has the potential to enhance vocabulary and student engagement. However, students encountered challenges, including competitive pressure and unstable internet connections. Conclusion: These findings have significant implications for language teachers, school administrators, and curriculum developers, underscoring the importance of effectively integrating digital platforms. Additionally, policymakers should consider enhancing digital infrastructure in schools to ensure equitable access to online learning resources. The findings suggest that classroom teachers can effectively integrate Wordwall.net to enhance vocabulary mastery, boost motivation, and make learning more engaging. For institutions, this highlights the importance of providing digital infrastructure and training teachers in using web-based platforms. School administrators and policymakers should also support equitable access to reliable internet to ensure consistent learning outcomes. Keywords: challenge, vocabulary mastery, word wall, web-based learning.
