Abstract

Penatalaksanaan terapi pada diabetes melitus ditujukan untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah yang dapat dilakukan dengan cara mengonsumsi makanan tinggi serat dan beban glikemik rendah. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara serat dan beban glikemik terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Klinik Jasmine 2 Surakarta. Penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dan teknik pengambilan subjek secara consecutive sampling sebanyak 40 orang sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pengumpulan data asupan serat dan karbohidrat diperoleh melalui wawancara langsung menggunakan metode Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) satu bulan terakhir dan pengumpulan data kadar glukosa darah puasa menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Beban glikemik makanan didapatkan dari hasil analisis jumlah gram karbohidrat pada setiap makanan dikalikan dengan indeks glikemik makanan tersebut kemudian dibagi 100. Analisis data menggunakan software SPSS for windows versi 20 dan analisis data dengan uji Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 100% subjek penelitian memiliki asupan serat yang rendah dengan rata-rata asupan serat sebesar 14,33±2,72 gram. Sebanyak 55% subjek penelitian memiliki beban glikemik yang tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 121,19±24,29 gram. Persentase subjek penelitian yang memiliki kadar glukosa darah puasa normal dan tinggi masing-masing sebanyak 50% dengan rata-rata kadar glukosa darah puasa sebesar 149,25±25 mg/dL. Hasil uji hubungan antara asupan serat dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa menunjukkan nilai p= 0,042, sedangkan beban glikemik dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa menunjukkan nilai p= 0,001. Terdapat hubungan antara asupan serat dan beban glikemik terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Klinik Jasmine 2 Surakarta.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gejala dan diagnosa diabetes melitus meningkat pada usia dewasa akhir, lansia awal sampai dengan usia ≤ 65 tahun. Jumlah asupan kabohidrat mempengaruhi beban glikemik secara langsung. Beban glikemik merupakan parameter untuk mengetahui kecepatan glukosa pada suatu makanan untuk masuk ke peredaran darah, jika beban glikemik yang dikonsumsi meningkat maka secara perlahan terjadi peningkatan glukosa darah dan insulin. Tujuan : mengetahui efek beban glikemik dengan kadar glukosa darah lansia. Metode: Penelitian ini termasuk studi crossectional dengan sampel 30 responden yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Beban glikemik dihitung menggunakan food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) semi kuantitatif dengan menghitung rata-rata asupan karbohidrat selama 1 bulan terakhir. Beban glikemik didapat dari hasil kali antara karbohidrat dalam bahan makanan dengan indeks glikemik makanan tersebut. Kadar glukosa darah puasa diukur dengan menggunakan alat spektrofotometer dengan satuan mg/dL. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah pearson product moment. Hasil: Sebanyak 20 (66,7%) responden memiliki beban glikemik kategori tinggi dan 19 ( 63,3%) responden memiliki kadar glukosa darah puasa kategori tinggi. Hasil uji analisis antara beban glikemik dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa menunjukkan nilai p = 0,001. Kesimpulan: Beban glikemik berhubungan dengan kadar glukosa darah pada lansia di Paguyuban Diabetes Melitus Surakarta.Background: The symptoms and diagnosis of diabetes mellitus increased in late adulthood, early elderly up to ≤ 65 years old. The amount of carbohydrate intake directly affect glycemic load. Glycemic load is a parameter to determine the speed of glucose in a food to enter the blood circulation, if the glycemic load consumed increases, there will be an increase in blood glucose and insulin. Objective: to determine the association of glycemic load to blood glucose level in elderly. Method:This is a cross sectional study with a total of 30 respondens were chosen based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria using consecutive sampling technique. Glycemic load was obtained from the average of 1 month carbohydrate intake by using 1 month semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Glycemic load is obtained by multiplying carbohydrates and the glycemic index in food. Fasting blood glucose levels were measured using a spectrophotometer by unit mg/dL. All data were analyzed using pearson product moment. Results: 20 (66.7%) respondents had a high glycemic load and 19 (63.3%) respondents had a high fasting blood glucose level. The statistical analysis shows that there is an association between glycemic load and fasting blood glucose levels (p=0.001). Conclusion: Glycemic load is related to blood glucose levels in Paguyuban Diabetes Melitus Surakarta.

Abstract

Pola makan yang baik dan gizi seimbang dibutuhkan oleh setiap olahragawan dan atlet untuk menunjang performa pada saat latihan maupun pertandingan. Oleh sebab itu, setiap olahragawan dan atlet harus memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang pola makan dan gizi seimbang tersebut. Pengetahuan gizi yang kurang pada anak-anak dan orangtua menyebabkan asupan gizi inadekuat. Asupan gizi yang inadekuat pada atlet dapat menyebabkan performa atlet kurang baik, atlet Siswa Sekolah Sepak Bola (SSB) SPARTAN yang bertempat di Kabupaten Cilacap mengikuti latihan sepak bola 1 minggu selama 4 kali. Pada satu tahun terakhir terdapat 32% siswa yang sakit dan kebugaran fisiknya kurang setelah melakukan latihan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan kepada orangtua siswa tentang pola makan dan gizi seimbang. Penyuluhan dilakukan kepada 55 siswa beserta orangtua mereka. Penyuluhan diberikan dengan menggunakan media leafleat dan powerpoint. Sebelum dan setelah penyuluhan para peserta mendapatkan kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian diketahui bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dari siswa dan orang tua siswa terhadap pola makan dan gizi seimbang.

Abstract

Kadar hemoglobin normal pada ibu hamil ialah ³11 gr/dl. Ibu hamil yang memiliki kadar hemoglobin <11 gr/dl akan berisiko mengalami anemia. Pada ibu hamil dengan status gizi kurang dapat mengalami anemia karena tubuh yang kekurangan energi maka akan terjadi proses pemecahan lemak yang akan dijadikan sebagai sumber energi, dan kemudian  di susul dengan pemecahan simpanan protein didalam tubuh. Protein dalam darah  mempunyai mekanisme yang spesifik untuk transportasi zat besi, apabila transportasi zat besi menurun maka dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan kadar hemoglobin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil di Wilayah Puskesmas Babakan Kabupaten Cirebon Tahun 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 53 orang. Data status gizi menggunakan pengukuran %LiLA. Data kadar hemoglobin diperoleh dengan metode cyanmethemoglobin. Uji korelasi status gizi dan kadar hemoglobin menggunakan uji statistik Perason Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian responden memiliki usia kehamilan trimester I (54,7%), dengan status gizi baik (62,3%) dan memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal (58,5%). Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan p value sebesar 0,564. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu tidak ada hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil di Wilayah Puskesmas Babakan Kabupaten Cirebon Tahun 2022.

Abstract

Ikan tongkol (Euthynnus Affinis) selain kaya protein, juga sumber asam lemak omega-3 rantai panjang yang berperan dalam modulasi respon inflamasi, seperti pada pasien yang membutuhkan makanan enteral. Pengabdian ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari hasil penelitian kami dalam rangka meningkatkan nilai gizi makanan enteral standar (Modisco) yang biasa digunakan di rumah sakit di Indonesia dengan substitusi ikan tongkol (Ensikol). Pengabdian dilaksanakan dalam bentuk webinar sosialisasi Ensikol yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 tahap yaitu sosialisasi kegiatan, pelaksanaan webinar dan evaluasi. Webinar diikuti oleh 108 ahli gizi alumni Prodi Ilmu Gizi UMS yang telah bekerja di berbagai instansi seperti rumah sakit, puskesmas, dll yang telah menerapkan enteral di tempat kerja masing-masing. Materi webinar disampaikan oleh 3 narasumber yang masing-masing membahas tentang peran enteral sebagai dukungan gizi pasien, potensi pengambangan enteral dari pangan lokal dan jaminan kehalalannya, serta hasil riset Ensikol. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan antusias peserta dalam sesi tanya jawab cukup baik dan terdapat peningkatan nilai rerata (minimun; maximum) post-test=82,6 (40;100) dibandingkan nilai pre-test=53,8 (13;100).

Abstract

Background: Anemia contributes to maternal mortality during pregnancy, with a 2021 prevalence of 5.02% in Grogol. Non-compliance with Fe tablet consumption is a key factor. Nutritional counseling can effectively improve mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and compliance with Fe tablet intake. Objective: This study examines the impact of nutritional counseling on knowledge, attitudes, and compliance with Fe tablet consumption among anemic pregnant women at Grogol Community Health Center. Method: Using a pre-experimental one-group pre-post-test design, 35 anemic pregnant women in their second and third trimesters were randomly sampled from clinic records. They received 15-20 minutes of counseling with leaflets. Knowledge and attitudes were assessed via interviews and questionnaires, while compliance was measured using the pill count formula. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test evaluated changes from baseline to post-counseling. Results: Nutritional counseling increased knowledge (28.60%), attitudes (17.10%), and compliance (22.80%). Significant improvements were found in knowledge (p=0.001), attitude (p=0.001), and Fe tablet compliance (p=0.002). Conclusion: Nutritional counseling at the Grogol Community Health Center should be provided periodically to carry out promotive and preventive functions in the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence requires balanced nutrition. Therefore, the role of nutrition in this period is crucial to pay attention to. Breakfast is important for everyone, especially adolescents, before starting daily activities, as 20–25% of the energy requirements can be fulfilled by breakfast. Individuals who are not accustomed to breakfast tend to experience excessive hunger during the afternoon and evening, which leads to the consumption of low-nutrient, energy-dense foods and fast food, ultimately affecting their nutritional status.Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between breakfast habits, fast food consumption, and nutritional status among adolescents in State Senior High School 2 Sukoharjo.Methods: This study employed an observational cross-sectional design. The study subjects were 77 eleventh-grade students of State Senior High School 2 Sukoharjo, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, selected through proportional random sampling. The research instruments included anthropometric measurements, a 7-day breakfast habit questionnaire, and a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test.Results: There was a significant relationship between breakfast habits (p = 0.019; r = -0,267) and the frequency of fast food consumption (p = 0.002; r = 0,344) and the nutritional status of adolescents. Breakfast habits and frequency of fast food consumption were found to influence the nutritional status of adolescents.Conclusion: These findings highlight the importance of promoting regular breakfast habits and healthy eating patterns to improve and maintain adolescent health.

Abstract

Background: Controlling blood glucose needs to be done in patients with Diabetes mellitus so that the level is close to the normal threshold. Complications such as retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy can occur as a result of uncontrolled blood glucose levels. To keep their blood glucose levels stable, people with diabetes mellitus can control their diet according to a predetermined diet. Adherence to a diabetes mellitus diet can be influenced by family support Positive family support will generate motivation both when it comes to controlling diet patterns and blood sugar levels Purpose: To determine the relationship between family support and dietary adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Diabetes Mellitus Association of Surakarta. Method: Observational research with a cross sectional design. This research was carried out at the Diabetes Mellitus Association of Surakarta, with a sample of 41 people. The instruments used in this study were the Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS) questionnaire and the Perceived Dietary Adherence Questionnaire (PDAQ) questionnaire Results: The relationship between family support and dietary adherence was found that as many as 28 respondents (93.4%) had a high family support category with high dietary adherence compared to respondents who had a low family support category with low dietary adherence as many as 6 respondents (54.5%). The results of the statistical test on the variable of family support with dietary adherence obtained a value of p = 0.008 (p <0.05) which means that there is a relationship between family support and dietary adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Diabetes Mellitus Association of Surakarta Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and dietary compliance in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Surakarta Diabetes Mellitus Association.

Abstract

Background: Hypertriglyceridemia is associated with decreasing insulin sensitivity and increasing insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes mellitus. β-carotene has a cytoprotective effect that can improve and protect β-cells of the pancreas, resulting in increased insulin synthesis and secretion. β-carotene prevents the deleterious effects of uncontrolled glucose and lipid metabolism. Objectives: This research aimed to investigate the effect of β-carotene supplementation on triglyceride levels in high-fat diet and streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Wistar Rats. Methods: 18 Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: X1 (negative controls), X2 (positive controls), and X3 (STZ-NA+β-carotene 10 mg/KgBW). High-fat diet intervention was given 14 days before diabetic induction in X2 and X3 groups; the negative control group X1 was given standard feed. To condition Wistar rats to be type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, rats in groups X2 and X3 received intraperitoneal injections of Streptozotocin at a dose of 45 mg/KgBW and nicotinamide at a dose of 110 mg/kgBW. Supplementation of β-carotene was given by the nasogastric feeding tube method every 2 days within 30 days. Plasma Triglyceride levels were measured using GPO-PAP. The effect of triglyceride levels after β-carotene supplementation was tested with a statistical test using a paired t-test and one-way ANOVA. Results: Blood glucose levels in groups X2 and X3 increased by 188.34 g/dl and 186.34 g/dl after being injected with STZ and NA. There was a significant effect of triglyceride levels (p-value<0.001) after supplementation with β-carotene at a dose of 10 mg/kgBW. Serum triglyceride levels decreased by a mean of 21.90% or 28.42 mg/dl. Conclusions: This research revealed that the supplementation of β-carotene at a dose of 10 mg/kgBW every 2 days within 30 days by the nasogastric feeding tube method can lower triglyceride levels in diabetic Wistar rats.

Abstract

Indonesia currently faces a triple burden of nutritional problems including stunting, wasting and obesity,and deficiency in micronutrients such as anemia. Nutritional problems still commonly found among adolescents and adults include undernutrition, overnutrition, and anemia. These nutritional problems are influenced from several factors including food intake, physical activity, socio-cultural, economic, and nutritional knowledge. The aims of this research was to examine the correlation between carbohydrate, fat, protein intake and physical activity with the nutritional status of nutrition science students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. A cross-sectional method was used in this research involving 85 nutrition student respondents consisting of 20 thin respondents (23.5%), 62 normal respondents (72.9%), and 3 overweight respondents (3.5%). The study was conducted by providing a 24-hour recall form for 3 days, a PAL form for 7 days, and direct anthropometric measurements. The results showed no correlation between carbohydrate intake and nutritional status (p 0.217) indicating that H0 is accepted. The next results on this study found correlation between consumption of fat and nutritional status (p 0.049) which means that excessive fat intake can trigger obesity. Another result found no correlation between protein intake and nutritional status (p 0.470) nor between physical activity and nutritional status (p 0.228). Based on this research, it can be concluded that fat consumption is significantly associated with nutritional status. However, there is no significant associations were found for carbohydrate intake, protein intake, or physical activity with nutritional status of students.
