On the other side, CSR is also a tool to balance the interests of the company and the society who is affected by the company’s business activity. Therefore, besides fulfilling an obligation, CSR activity could be utilized as one of strategies to reach the company’s goals including a strategy to increase job pursuit intention of job seekers, thus it enables company to pool as many prospective talents as possible. This quantitative research aims to examine the impact of the four dimensions of CSR - economic citizenship, legal citizenship, ethical citizenship, and philanthropic citizenship - on job pursuitintention which is moderated by socio-environmental consciousness at a tobacco company which perceived as a generous company in carrying out its CSR activities. This research involved 203 undergraduate students majoring in accounting, management, and economics, class of 2012 at Universitas Indonesia. Thedata were collected using questionnaires and processed using the SPSS 20.0 software. The result shows that individual job pursuit intention considers a tobacco company as a prospective workplace which is significantly influenced by four dimensions of CSR, but the socio-environmental consciousness does not moderate the effect of CSR dimensions on job pursuit intention.

Abstract

Sexual minority workers often choose to hide their true sexual identity to avoid discriminative action towards them. This leads to their invisible position in the workers presentation. Hiding true sexual identity of sexual minority workers creates exclusive relationship between heteronormative majority workers and non-heteronormative minority workers because of unavailability of intensive and personal interactions between them. Thus it makes sexual minority workers are excluded from the workers presentation and preserving discrimination based on sexuality. Using mathematical theory formulated by Alain Badiou, this writing tries to propose a strategy for sexual minority workers to be visible in the workers presentation through coming out action as an event. Coming out in the end is a strategy to fight for equality and an action for discrimination based on sexuality to end.

Abstract

Deviant workplace behavior is not something unusual and is prevalent in organizational dynamics. It is found in all types of organizations and in all levels of positions. This deviance is costly not only in financial, but also in social and psychological terms. This research aims to reveal whether there is any association between organizational justice perception and engagement in deviant workplace behavior since so many scholars argue that organizational injustice can serve as one of the causes to workplace deviance. Three forms of organizational justice are used in this research; they are: distributive, procedural, and interactional justice. Additionally, two dimensions are used to classify deviant workplace behavior, which are severity and target. Putting these two dimensions into low-high continuum, it helps to develop a typology of deviant workplace behavior into four classifications: production, political, property, and personal aggression. Result findings show us that organizational justice perception play important role in the occurrence of deviant workplace behavior. However, it is not the sole predictor since only one deviant workplace behavior (out of twelve) which correlates significantly with one form of organizational justice.

Abstract

Love is never considered as a transformative force. Love is generally perceived merely as an affective-emotional thing and personal relationship. Love does not have any practical implication in transforming society. Through Alain Badiou’s theory of love, it can be demonstrated that love has the power to impact the world. According to Badiou, philosophy is a truth procedure that is always occurring in the arena. Politics, science, art, and love are the arenas in which philosophy operates. Thus, it is possible to talk about love philosophically. Philosophy aims to change the world since love is one of the arenas where philosophy operates. Based on the descriptive analysis method in interpreting Alain Badiou’s works; Being and Event and In Praise of Love, it implies that love can generate a transformative action. The case of miscegenation marriage between Mildred Jetter, an African-Indigenous American, and Richard Loving, a white male, during the civil rights movement in the US, can illustrate the role of love in transforming the world. Alain Badiou’s theory of love explains that love can transcend personal dimensions, and it is not purely a romantic feeling and personal relationship but also a transformative force. Thus, this study brings a new perspective on love theoretically and practically because love is not merely an emotion but also a force for change with social dimensions in practicality.

Abstract

In recent years, many doctors and other healthcare workers choose to work in the aesthetic beauty industry. Based on data from Statista, the beauty and body care market in Indonesia in 2021 will reach 7.46 billion USD and is expected to grow to increase to 7.25% in 2023. Therefore, it is important to identify the factors that can influence healthcare workers can work in a beauty clinic. This study used a quantitative research method by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale. Using the SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) technique, a sample of 237 healthcare workers who worked in beauty clinics was obtained. The findings showed that HR management practices and working atmosphere positively and significantly affect job satisfaction and ultimately increase their intention to stay. Thus, job satisfaction plays a role in mediating the effect of human resource management practices on the intention to stay. This study implies that healthcare organizations should pay more attention to human resource management practices and working atmosphere to increase the job satisfaction of healthcare workers thereby influencing the intention to stay. In addition, HR management practices and an efficient work environment can improve the quality of health services and minimize treatment errors.
