Abstract

The aim of this article is to show a prototype of Lontara’s alphabet characters (character fonts used by the Bugis-Makassar in South Sulawesi). This application of Lontara alphabet can be used either on windows operating system or internet hypertext. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D). The researcher used three stages. First; conducted a need analysis to look at the gap between what is expected with and what happened over the use of Lontara’s applications based on windows operating system. The gap of this study is to look for the difference between what should happen with the real reality. Second; developed and designed of applications based hypertext for lontara alphabet in accordance with the results of the needs analysis in the first stage. Third, the author will validate and test this aplication through test one-on-one, test in a small and large group. The product fo this research is an application can be used in communicating via e-mail, social media, and other hypertext platform. The other product is a book that explains Lontara’s application and its integration with other applications to create interactive files, for example with hot potatoes program. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan prototype aplikasi aksara Lontara (karakter huruf Bahasa daerah Bugis-Makassar di Sulawesi Selatan). Aplikasi aksara ini dapat dijalankan pada system operasi window dan platform hyperstext. Metode Research and Development (R&D) dipilih digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian R & D ini, tiga tahapan dilakukan peneliti, yaitu 1) melakukan analisis kebutuhan untuk mengenalipemertahanan bahasa Bugis-Makassar yang terjadi di lapangan dan bagaimana melakukan usaha pemertahanan Bahasa daerah, 2) merancang dan membuat aplikasi aksara Lontara berbasis hypertext, dan 3) melakukan validasi atas aplikasi hypertext tersebut dengan uji satu-satu, uji kelompok kecil dan uji kelompok besar. Produk dari penelitian ini berupa aplikasi aksara Lontara berbasis hypertext yang dapat digunakan berkomunikasi baik melalui email atau media social facebook. Aplikasi ini juga dapat diintegrasikan dengan berbagai aplikasi interaktif lainnya berbasis atau berplatform berbasis html lainnya, misalnya program Hot Potatoes.

Abstract

This study describes the influence of Islam and Arabic on the Makassarese language. The method used in this study is library research. Various literatures were collected to obtain data and facts. These data are collected, sorted and selected and then analyzed to answer two primary issues, namely the influence of Islam and the influence of Arabic on the Makassarese language. The results of the study showed that the Islamic religion influenced the contents of poetry and song in the Makassarese language. The vocabulary from Arabic absorbed into the Makassar language experiences several typologies, including vocabulary absorption and vocabulary enrichment in the Makassarese language. This word absorption from Arabic also includes sound adjustments in Makassarese language. In addition to that, there are words found in Arabic words whose meaning absorbed in Makassarese language not in terms of morpholigical absorption but semantical absorption.

Abstract

Qalby Etmaan YouTube channel serves as a digital platform presenting a variety of humanitarian programs in Arab countries. The aim of this research is to examine the form and function of expressive speech acts as proposed by Searle by using the YouTube channel "Qalby Etmaan" as the object of this study. Employing the theoretical framework of SPEAKING by Dell Hymes, the research concentrates on the analysis of situation, participants, purpose, act sequence, key, instrumentalities, norms, and genre within expressive speech acts. Data collection techniques include observation-note-taking and documentation. The research methodology is qualitative descriptive analysis, involving data collection from transcripts of dialogues in the channel's videos, followed by an analysis considering keywords, expressions, and expressive nuances reflecting the functions of expressive speech acts in various contexts. The results reveal a diverse range of expressive speech acts, such as acts of apologizing, expressing gratitude, greeting, condolence, and congratulating. In the function of apologizing, there is a direct use of apology expressions, both as the beginning or end of a conversation, as well as expressions of solidarity in grief. In the function of expressing gratitude, there are direct expressions of thanks that reflect belonging and solidarity, as well as expressions laden with cultural and religious values. The function of welcoming includes greetings, welcoming expressions, inquiring about the condition and health, and positive responses and prayers. In the function of condoling, there are expressions of hope and patience, as well as expressions of prayer. Abstract

Puisi “Amin Ummu Aufah Dimnatun Lam Takallami” adalah puisi karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma yang tergolong dalam syair mimiyah, yakni syair yang memiliki rima dengan qafiyah mim. Permasalahan utama yang terdapat dalam syair Amin Ummu Aufaa Dimnatun Lam Takallami karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma adalah sulitnya menentukan letak qafiyah dalam bait syair tersebut. . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji qafiyah dalam puisi Zuhair bin Abi Sulma yang meliputi huruf qafiyah, harakat qafiyah dan nama qafiyah dengan menjadi puisi yang berjudul “Amin Ummu Aufah Dimnatun Lam Takallami” sebagai objek. . Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif dengan menganalisis huruf, harakat dan nama qafiyah yang digunakan dalam puisi Zuhair bin Abi Sulma menggunakan pendekatan ilmu qafawi. Data penelitian ini yaitu puisi Zuhair bin Abi Sulma yang berjudul “Amin Ummu Aufaa Dimnatun Lam Takallami. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa letak qafiyah dalam syair “Aamin Ummu Aufa Dimnatun Lam Takallami” karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma yaitu qafiyah pada sebagian kata, qafiyah pada satu kata, qafiyah pada dua kata dan qafiyah pada satu kata dan sebagian dari kata yang lain. Huruf qafiyah yang terdapat dalam syair Aamiin Ummu Aufa Dimnatun Lam Takallami karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma, yaitu rawi muthlaq, washl ya dan waw, ridf ya, ta’sis dan dakhil hamzah dan lam. Harakat qafiyah yang terdapat dalam syair “Aamiin Ummu Aufa Dimnatun Lam Takallami karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma”, yaitu majra kasrah dan majra dhammah, hadzw kasrah, rass fathah, isyba’ kasrah. Nama qafiyah yang terdapat dalam syair “Aamiin Ummu Aufa Dimnatun Lam Takallami” karya Zuhair bin Abi Sulma, yaitu mutadarik, mutarakib dan mutawatir.  Dalam puisi “Amin Ummu Aufaa Dimnatun Lam Takallami” memiliki huruf qafiyah rawi muthlaq, washl, ridf, ta’sis dan dakhil. Harakat qafiyahnya terdiri dari majra, hadzw, rass dan isyba’. Nama qafiyahnya terdiri dari mutadarik, mutakarib dan mutawatir. Kata Kunci: Puisi, Ilmu Qawafi, Zuhair Bin Abi Sulma

Abstract

This article discussed the role of technology in the learning process, especially in Arabic language teaching at MTsN 1 Makassar City. Teachers are faced with the challenge of improving students' ability to master vocabulary which conventional methods are often less interesting. This research proposes using visual media, such as digital comics, to make the learning process more interesting and effective. Digital comics are considered as media that can increase students' motivation and understanding and have been proven effective in increasing students' interest and understanding, especially in learning vocabulary. Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this research with the Four-D model which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Makassar City, with subjects consisting of two media experts, four material experts, and twenty-seven students of grades VII, VIII, and IX. The results showed that Arabic digital comics have a very good level of feasibility based on the responses of media experts, material experts, and students, with an average score percentage of 90.66% from the media aspect, 91.5% from the material aspect, and 78.07% from student responses. Visual media such as digital comics can attract students' interest, increase learning motivation, and help them understand Arabic vocabulary better. It is expected that this research can be a reference in developing innovative and effective language-learning media in the future.

Abstract

SRI RAHMAYANTI RUKMANA. Tren penggunaan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) di kalangan mahasiswa Bahasa dan Sastra Arab di Kota Makassar (dibimbing oleh Dr. Andi Agussalim, S.S., M.Hum). Latar belakang. Teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) semakin berkembang dan mulai dimanfaatkan dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Arab. Namun, sejauh mana mahasiswa benar-benar memanfaatkan teknologi ini, serta tantangan dan aspirasi mereka dalam mengintegrasikan AI ke dalam proses belajar masih belum banyak diteliti secara mendalam. Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tren penggunaan teknologi AI, persepsi kemudahan akses, hambatan yang dihadapi, dan saran mahasiswa untuk pengembangan teknologi AI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Arab. Metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan instrumen kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 67 mahasiswa dari tiga perguruan tinggi di Kota Makassar. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik deskriptif menggunakan Microsoft Excel, serta dilengkapi refleksi teoritik melalui pendekatan TAM, DOI, dan Konstruktivisme. Hasil. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa aktif menggunakan AI, khususnya untuk penerjemahan teks Arab dan pemahaman tata bahasa. Mahasiswa merasakan kemudahan dalam mengakses teknologi AI, tetapi masih menghadapi kendala seperti biaya langganan dan ketidaksesuaian AI dengan konteks Bahasa Arab. Saran mahasiswa mencerminkan harapan akan pengembangan AI yang lebih akurat, terjangkau, dan kontekstual terhadap Bahasa Arab. Kesimpulan. AI telah menjadi alat bantu belajar yang signifikan bagi mahasiswa Bahasa dan Sastra Arab. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya kolaborasi antara institusi pendidikan, dosen, dan pengembang teknologi untuk menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran berbasis AI yang inklusif dan relevan. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss how to use the minimal pairs strategy to help students improve their pronunciation abilities. The Research and Development (R&D) and the Quasy Experimental Non-Equivalent Control Group Designs were combined in this study (QENECGD). The R & D method was used to develop a model for implementing the minimal pairs strategy. The QENECGD method was used to evaluate students' final performance following the implementation of the minimal pairs strategy. The study enrolled 50 students who took Basic Arabic Language Proficiency course. Twenty-five students were assigned to the minimal pairs strategy, while the remaining twenty-five served as the control class. All students were required to read an Arabic script during the pre-test and post-tests. The results of these readings were analyzed for pronunciation accuracy using the provided reading script. The Bogaert scale was used in conjunction with the non-parametric test. The findings indicated that the minimal pairs strategy affected students' attainment of a foreign accent level. Additionally, statistical analysis enables the experimental and control groups to be distinguished. Furthermore, the N Gain Score statistic demonstrates the effectiveness of the minimal pairs method.

Abstract

Utilization of technological media in the field of education and health can increase public knowledge in efforts to prevent anemia, especially in young women. One of the efforts to prevent anemia and increase adherence to taking iron tablets is by using Web-based educational media (E-WoHealth) about iron tablets supplemented with a tablet supplement consumption control card. This research aims to develop Web-based E-WoHealth media and its effect on the level of adherence to the consumption of blood supplement tablets. This study used the Research and development (R&D) method with the Borg & Gall development model and the Pre-experimental Design quantitative method using the One Group Pretest-Postest approach. The sample in this study was 80 girls in grades VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 11 Gorontalo City, determined by purposive sampling technique. Statistical tests used the McNemar test and the Chi-Square test. The results of the McNemar test showed differences in the measurement results before and after being given the Web-based E-WoHealth media with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05 meaning that the Web-based E-WoHealth media was effective in increasing adherence to consumption of iron supplement tablets (TTD) in class VII and class VIII girls and the results of the Chi-Square P-Value test were 0.822 > 0.05 meaning that there was no difference in adherence between class VII and VII girls. This study recommends the application of WEB-based E-WoHealth media equipped with an iron supplement control card to increase adherence and monitor iron supplement consumption.

Abstract

The report from the Bone Bolango District Health Office shows that the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding for the last 3 years has decreased, namely in 2019 by 28.3%, in 2020 by 16%, and in 2021 it has decreased by 12.7%. Many factors cause the low rate of exclusive breastfeeding in children, one of which is caused by poor knowledge about breastfeeding. Based on these problems, media is needed to increase the skills of pregnant women regarding breast care. This research aims to create a web platform called E-WoHealth which can improve pregnant women's skills regarding breast care. This research used Research and Development (R&D) methods. Then to see the difference before and after the use of Web-based E- WoHealth on the skill level of pregnant women in performing breast care using the Pre-Experimental Design (One group pretest-posttest design). This study was carried out in the working area of the Kabila Health Center, Oluhuta, Kec. Kabila, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo. Population in research tian namely third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of the Kabila Health Center, Bone Bolango Regency, as many as 60. Data collection techniques, documentation, questionnaires, tests, and observations. The results showed that the results of the web-based E-WoHealth feasibility test were in the very feasible category, and the statistical test results showed that the web-based E-WoHealth was effective in increasing pregnant women's skill regarding breast care with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Thus, education on breast care using web-based E-WoHealth is feasible and effective in increasing the skills of pregnant women before and after the intervention. It is hoped that the health office can socialize this platform with pregnant women to raise awareness about breast care.

Abstract

This research studied the relationship between vocabulary mastery and the level of comprehension in reading Arabic authentic text. This research investigated students' lexical threshold to measure the level of comprehension on Arabic authentic text. The data were collected from 47 participants at Arabic literature department of Hasanuddin University. Three test instruments were given, they are Reading Comprehension Test (RCT) that students were asked to sign unknown word meaning in Arabic texts, answer the questions from texts given, and work on Lexical Coverage Test (LCT) to get accurate word list of unknown vocabularies. The result was obtained through applying regression and it showed that the level of reading comprehension was affected 68% by vocabulary mastery. Also, there were 32% of the students depend on the topic or variables out of the variable of vocabulary that was not measured in this research.DOI: 10.24865/ajas.v1i2.12
