Abstract

AbstractMany students have found the difficulties to give proper evidence scientifically. Therefore, it is necessary to provide the learning approach model which guides students to argue scientifically on the laboratory work writing namely science writing heuristic (SWH). In this research, we tried to describe the quality of students scientific argumentation on acid-base and buffer solution laboratory work writing through mixed methods embedded concurrent. The research data was obtained through assessment rubric of ability scientific argumentation SWH formatted and field notes. The overall of ability scientific argumentation was moderate (63.60%).  From this research, we found that laboratory work writing with laboratory report SWH formatted can improve students’ ability on their scientific argumentation.AbstrakBanyak pelajar telah menemukan kesulitan untuk memberikan bukti yang tepat secara ilmiah. Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk menyediakan model pendekatan pembelajaran yang memandu pelajar untuk berdebat secara ilmiah tentang penulisan kerja laboratorium yaitu heuristik penulisan sains (SWH). Dalam penelitian ini, kami mencoba mendeskripsikan kualitas argumentasi ilmiah pelajar pada penulisan kerja laboratorium larutan asam-basa dan buffer melalui metode campuran yang disatukan secara bersamaan. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui rubrik penilaian kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah SWH yang diformat dan catatan lapangan. Keseluruhan argumentasi ilmiah kemampuan adalah sedang (63,60%). Dari penelitian ini, kami menemukan bahwa penulisan kerja laboratorium dengan laporan laboratorium yang diformat SWH dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pelajar dalam argumentasi ilmiah mereka.How to Cite : Firmansyah, R. Abstract

The purpose of this experiment is to understand the photochemical property of ethyl acetate extracted from Salam Stem Cortex (Syzygium polyanthum). The electrochemical test of the sample indicated the existence of secondary metabolic compound, i.e flavonoid, alkaloid, steroid, tannin, fenolat and terpenoid. The secondary metabolic compound was mostly beneficial for pharmacology as a herbal medicine.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of water spinach leaves heating (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk) at 100oC by different time duration on its antioxidant activity. The method was experimental method involved several steps, such as sample preparation, extraction process, and evaluation of antioxidant activity with UV-Visible Spectrophotometer. The result of this research shown that IC50 value from K1, K2, K3 to K4 were 25.25 μg/mL (very high), 96.75 μg/mL (high), 181.47μg/L (low, and 280μg/mL (very low). The IC50 value of K1 to K2 decreased 71.49 μg/L, The K2 to K3 decreased 84.72 μg/L, K3 to K4 decreased 98.53 μg/L. By this result, it was predicted that the antioxidant of water spinach will diminish, or even it will be lowered when it is steamed more than 15 minutes in 100 C. ©2016 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. Abstract

The research activity of the antioxidant and antibacterial esktrak methanol seaweed Sargussum duplicatum J. Agardh as well as its potential as an alternative natural preservative salted egg has been done. Seaweed extract S. duplicatum Jj. Agardh assayed phytochemistry and the content of total phenolic with variation of temperature. Metabolite secondary in seawed extract obtained through maseration using methanol solvent. The extract are partitioned, R1 and R2. R1 sample is a sample without treatment and sample R2 is a sample with 45 minutes for warming treatment in waterbath temperature to 100 °C. Phytochemical content in seawed of S. duplicatum J. Agardh are flavonoid dan steroid. Phytochemical content and phenolic total have positive correlation to antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity with DPPH method yielded IC50 = 143.03 μg/mL (R1) and 357.95 μg/mL (R2). Antibacterial activity assay carried out trough diffusion method with SSA media (Salmonella-Shigella Agar). Inhibition value toward Salmonella is 1.120 mm and 1.15 mm with control is chloramphenicol. Salmonella sp.is pathogenic bacteria that presents in egg and causes decay on the egg. Discussion about antibacteria activity results of seawed extract of S. duplicatum J. Abstract

Kajian kualitatif tentang kematangan termal biomarka fraksi hidrokarbon aromatik pada core Badak 1/208 dari kedalaman 10550 kaki telah dilakukan untuk meminimali- sir resiko kegagalan kegiatan eksplorasi minyak di sumur Badak 1/208 Muara Badak, Kutai Kartanegara-Kalimantan Timur. Sampel core diekstraksi secara berselang seling den- gan campuran pelarut toluena-metanol (3:1) dan kloro- form-metanol (3:1), kemudian difraksinasi dengan metode kromatografi kolom untuk memperoleh fraksi netral, asam, dan polar. Fraksi netral yang diperoleh difraksinasi lebih lanjut dengan kromatografi lapis tipis menghasilkan fraksi hidrokarbon alifatik, aromatik, alkohol, dan keton. Fraksi hidrokarbon aromatik yang diperoleh, selanjutnya diiden- tifikasi menggunakan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometer Massa (KG-SM) dengan hasil antara lain turunan pisena, alkil fenantrena, dan triaromatik steroid. Biomarka fraksi hidrokarbon aromatik yang teridentifikasi tersebut ditinjau dari pembentukannya selama waktu geologi, menunjuk- kan bahwa core yang ada diduga matang secara termal.

Abstract

Kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia dalam menganalisis Ayat-ayat Kauniyah yang berasal dari Al-Quran dan As-Sunnah sebagai petunjuk pengembangan riset kimia berbasis wahyu telah dilakukan. Al-Quran dan As-Sunnah merupakan sumber hukum agama dan sains bagi Muslim sehingga dikatakan bahwa dalam Islam tidak terjadi dikotomi antara agama dan sains, justru integrasi agama dan sains. Ayat-ayat Kauniyah dalam Al-Quran dan As-Sunnah dapat dijadikan sumber gagasan sebagai petunjuk pengembangan riset kimia berbasis wahyu. Pada mata kuliah Keterpaduan IPTEK dan Islam di Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Walisongo, mahasiswa dilatih menggali gagasan riset kimia dari ayat-ayat Kauniyah dalam Al-Quran dan As-Sunnah menjadi satu makalah ilmiah. Kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan kimia secara keseluruhan dalam menganalisis Ayat-ayat Kauniyah ini cukup baik yang dapat diketahui dari menganalisis makalah yang telah disusun secara mandiri, lembar refleksi, dan wawancara.

Abstract

Desulphurization of diesel fuel is necessary to be done to reduce sulphur content in the air. However, the desulphurization process will reduce the lubrication properties of diesel fuel. In order to overcome the problem, it needs bioadditive to improve the lubricity. Lubricity of diesel fuel can be improved by the subsistence of chemical compound that is hydroxyethyl esther (HEE). HEE is synthesized through the transesterification reaction of palm oil (triglycerides) and 1,2 ethanediol at 150 °C for 5 hours and K2CO3 catalyst as well. The conversion of TG into the products is 72.90%. The characterization using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) indicates that the chemical compound in synthesis products comprise free fatty acids, hydroxyethyl esters and by-products. The obtained products can be used as bioadditives to improve the lubricity of diesel fuel.

Abstract

The desulphurization process of diesel fuel is carried out to reduce the amount of SO2 emissions that can cause acid rain. However, the desulphurization process in diesel fuel not only removes the sulfur compounds but polyaromatic and polar compounds are also eliminated during this process. The loss of these two compounds can reduce the lubricity properties of diesel fuel. Therefore, it is necessary to add an additive compound that can increase the lubricity properties. In this research, 2-hydroxyethyl ester (HEE) was synthesized as an additive to increase the lubricity of diesel fuel. This compound was synthesized through the transesterification reaction of soybean oil and ethylene glycol with K2CO3 as the base catalyst. The composition of the synthesized additives was analyzed using the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Based on the results of GC-MS spectrum analysis, it is known that the 2-hydroxyethyl ester compound has been formed with a yield of 66.5% (relative to the area of the chromatogram peak). The HEE compound obtained is a mixture of 2 hydroxyethyl palmitate, 2 hydroxyethyl linoleate, 2 hydroxyethyl stearate, 2 hydroxyethyl arachidonate, 2 hydroxyethyl nervate, and 2 hydroxyethyl behenate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berdasarkan survei guru kimia di MAN Kota Tegal dalam menerapkan keterampilan dasar mengajar guru meliputi keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran, keterampilan bertanya, dan keterampilan mengadakan variasi yang masih kurang. Padahal keterampilan dasar mengajar guru merupakan keterampilan yang sangat penting diterapkan dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mixed method dalam bentuk konkuren dengan model strategi Embendded konkuren yaitu penelitian kualitatif menginduk di dalam penelitian kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui lembar observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian di MAN Kota Tegal tentang keterampilan dasar mengajar guru kimia yang mengikuti MGMP MIPA menunjukkan bahwa persentase skor rata-rata dalam ketiga keterampilan dasar mengajar (keterampilan membuka dan menutup, keterampilan bertanya, dan keterampilan mengadakan variasi) sebesar 54% dengan kategori kurang sekali. Keterampilan yang dinilai yaitu keterampilan membuka pelajaran sebesar 61% (cukup), keterampilan bertanya sebesar 56% (kurang), keterampilan mengadakan variasi sebesar 53% (kurang sekali), dan menutup pelajaran 44% (kurang sekali). Kemudian berdasarkan hasil wawancara didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar keterampilan dasar mengajar guru kimia masih kurang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan dasar mengajar guru kimia yang mengikuti MGMP MIPA di MAN Kota Tegal selama proses pembelajaran guru masih kurang dalam menerapkan keterampilan dasar mengajar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of learning hands on minds  on activity  based  on socio-scientific  issues  on  students'  scientific  literacy  in colloidal material. This research is an experimental study using Pretest-Post­test Control Group Design. The population  in this study were all students of class XI MA Al Asror Semarang with sampling technique used saturated sampling, it was ob­tained in class XI IPA  1 as the control class and  XI IPA  2 as the experimental  class. The  research instruments were in the form of scientific literacy test questions, inter­views, observations, student  response questionnaires,  and  documentation.  The  results  showed  that  the average value of scientific literacy of experimental  class students = 46.46 higher than the control class = 45.25. After the mann whitney non parametric test at a significance level of 5% was done, it was obtained Uo = 75 higher than Utl = 41 which means that hands on minds on activity learning based on socio-scien­tific issues is not effective in increasing students' scientific literacy in colloidal material.
