Abstract

Coal Boiler Plant at PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama is a plant for making steam, almost all activities in the cooking oil and margarine production process utilize electrical energy, such as submersible and centrifugal electric motors with controllers, computers, AC inverters, and many others which include non-linear loads. Electrical load whose correlation between voltage and current is unbalanced, this non-linear load will result in harmonic disturbances in the electric power system which causes a reduction in the service life of electrical equipment. Harmonics are defined as voltage and current frequency distortions that are not sinusoidal from pure frequencies. This study aims to determine how effective the active filter design simulated with the PSIM Software is in reducing harmonics with a non-linear load of 3 VSD connected to a 55 kW, 0.37 kW, and 7.5 kW induction motor. The results of measurements and analysis show that there are harmonics on the panel. SDP with a current harmonic value for phase R of 26.6%, phase S of 27.5%, and phase T of 25.5%, when compared with standard harmonics, all phases exceed the standard SPLN with a standard value of 20%. Then it is necessary to reduce harmonics with an active filter, after designing andsimulating it in the PSIM software the simulation results show that the current harmonics have changed for phase R by 3.3%, phase S by 4.0%, and phase T by 3,4 %. This shows that the design of the active filter is quite effective in mitigation a harmonic, to then be applied in practice at PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama in reduction the harmonics in a coal boiler plant.

Abstract

Juanda Airport Access Road, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java has a length of 3.15km with a width of 6m and there are 73 lighting points with a pole height of 12m and a distance between poles of 44m with a total of 8 single-arm poles and 65 double-arm poles. In addition, the street lighting lamps installed are 72 150 watt LED lamps and 66 250 watt SON-T type lamps. The measurement results are 26.37 lux for a 150 watt LED type lamp and 10.27 lux for a 250 watt SON-T lamp. However, from the many lights that have been installed, the lighting on the access road to Juanda Airport is still not optimal and many blackspots are found in certain areas. Therefore, it is necessary to do a re-analysis so that the road lighting for the Juanda Airport access road can meet the standards. The results of the analysis concluded that by carrying out a simulation on the dialux application according to the conditions in the field, 73 points of lighting poles were needed, the handlebar angle of the ornament was 14.06o with a total of 138 196 watt LED lights with an intensity of 15 lux which was in accordance with the standards of the Indonesian National Standards Agency 7391 : 2008 regarding the specifications for street lighting in urban areas and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2014 for collector road classes for national road status, namely 15 - 20lux.

Abstract

Microgrids are a technology that is developing quite rapidly and is attracting world attention in facing the energy and pollution crisis. There are three types of microgrid structures: AC, DC, and AC-DC hybrid microgrid. Because it consists of an AC bus and a DC bus, AC-DC hybrid microgrids can connect more types of Distributed Generation (DG) and have smaller converter losses, making it more economical and reliable than other types of microgrids. Due to the use of nonlinear devices, harmonic distortion in microgrids is a problem that needs to be solved. In this research, the AC-DC hybrid microgrid system is simulated using ETAP software. Then the characteristics of the distribution of harmonics in the system obtained from harmonic load flow simulations are also analyzed. Following the installation of the passive filter, Bus 1 and Bus 2 now suitable to the IEEE Std standards 519-1992 for harmonic values. After the application of the filter, Bus 1 refer a THD of 1.32%, while Bus 2 indicate a THD of 0.84%. In addition, the Individual Harmonic Distortion (IHD) for Bus 1 has dropped below 3% at the 5th harmonic and below 1.5% at the 13th harmonic. Besides that, Bus 2 IHD has decreased to less than 3% at the 11th harmonic and less than 1.5% at the 13th harmonic.

Abstract

In the current test, leaks really need to be carried out at GIS Simpang. This test was carried out by strengthening the 20 kV incoming cable in the GIS Simpang 150/20 kV transformer bay. The impact of measuring this leakage current is to reduce the occurrence of leakage currents so that they are not too severe because this can determine how much the leakage current increases in the incoming cable. The trend test results were measured to determine the comparison between the leakage current in January and the leakage current measurement process at GIS Simpang. Based on the results of leakage current testing on transformer 1 and transformer 2 incoming 20 kV cables from several phases, it shows that the results of the leakage current trend in the cables have not increased significantly. However, from the calculation results listed, it can be seen from the comparison table that the results have increased during the calculation and have slight differences compared to the leakage current measurement results themselves. This is because from the calculation results, the cable temperature detection experienced a slight increase in the cable temperature as measured by thermovision to determine the thermal failure voltage. However, the cable is still suitable for operation because the temperature of the cable itself has a standard that does not exceed 150C for several measured cable phases.

Abstract

At the company PT. Delta Jaya Mas induction motors are very necessary to run machines in the production process. An induction motor consists of a rotor and stator with insulation resistance. Insulation Resistance (IR) is a measure of the ability of the insulation in the winding to withstand current. Insulation resistance testing is needed to determine the condition of the insulation which is influenced by humidity, environmental temperature and operating time. This test procedure is regulated in the IEEE Std 43-2000 standard. The use of an appropriate insulation tester and routine testing is important to maintain the insulation resistance value and prevent accidents and damage to 3-phase induction motors. Testing is carried out when the motor is turned off to avoid component damage. Polarization index data is taken by testing the insulation resistance for 1 to 10 minutes. The test was carried out on the insulation resistance of a three-phase induction motor with a power of 75 kW which showed a value of 515 MΩ to 602 MΩ when it was in a damaged condition with one phase having a value of 0 MΩ indicating a short or short circuit condition. After repair the motor has an insulation resistance of 2000 MΩ. After operating for 3 months the decrease in resistance that occurred per month was 11.6 MΩ and the polarization index test was 3.5 MΩ. An insulation resistance of 2000 MΩ can be expected to last for 14 years if degradation occurs consistently.

Abstract

Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are often affected by various types of noise, such as electromagnetic interference, patient body movement, and disturbances from other medical devices, which can degrade the signal quality and hinder accurate detection of heart disorders. This study aims to compare the performance of various filters in reducing noise in ECG signals, focusing on the Highpass-Lowpass filter and the Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive filter. The testing was conducted using metrics such as Mean Squared Error (MSE), Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), average amplitude, total error, and computation time. The experimental results show that the LMS filter provides the best results, with an MSE value of 0.0045, SNR of 21.5 dB, and total error of 4.78, indicating its ability to produce a cleaner signal compared to the Highpass-Lowpass filter. The LMS filter also demonstrates good computational efficiency, with a time of 0.102 seconds. With its ability to dynamically adjust filter parameters, the LMS filter proves effective in reducing both low and high-frequency noise in ECG signals. This study shows that the LMS filter can be effectively applied to process ECG signals contaminated by noise and contributes to improving the accuracy of heart disorder diagnosis
