Rumoh Aceh is one of the artefacts from the cultural society. As a cultural artefact, rumoh Aceh can be read as a text that represented of a society tradition. There are messages that are contained in rumoh Aceh. The architecture of rumoh Aceh has been influenced by Islam as a majority religion in the society. To be able to know the message that attach in the architecture of rumoh Aceh, it is needed to elaborate the architectural components. Semiotics is one of method that can be used to read or disclose the message that contain in architectural object based on an existing signature or code (decoding). The process of elaboration of the sign using semiotic approach relies heavily on social agreements in a society where the object of architecture is located. The purpose of this article is to expose the messages attach in the architecture of rumohAceh as an efforts of transposition in order to appreciate and preserve the values of architecture of rumoh Aceh so that it can eventually be translated into new architectural forms in the present context.

Di era yang modern ini teknologi digital telah memasuki berbagai aspek kehidupan. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang diiringi dengan perkembangan teknologi digital yang begitu pesat selama beberapa dekade terakhir. Dunia perancangan arsitektur baik itu di bidang profesional maupun di bidang pendidikan arsitektur tidak luput dari pengaruh teknologi digital. Teknologi digital telah menggeser metode tradisional dalam dunia desain arsitektur walaupun pada faktanya masih ada beberapa arsitek atau desainer yang menggunakan metode tradisional. Hal ini disebabkan dengan menggunakan teknologi digital proses perancangan arsitektur menjadi lebih efisien dan mudah. Disamping itu dengan menggunakan teknologi digital dalam proses desain arsitektur juga memungkinkan arsitek atau desainer untuk bereksplorasi terhadap bentuk-bentuk geometri yang tingkat kompleksitasnya lebih tinggi. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena dengan perkembangan teknologi digital yang begitu pesat, komputer tidak hanya digunakan sebagai media untuk menghasilkan produk gambar atau mempercepat proses desain saja (komputerisasi) , akan tetapi komputer sudah berperan aktif dan dijadikan bagian dalam proses perancangan arsitektur (komputasi). Dengan demikian arsitek ataupun desainer dengan bantuan teknologi digital mampu menciptakan inovasi - inovasi baru dalam dunia perancangan arsitektur. Masjid Tuha Indrapuri is one the ancient mosques in Aceh located in the district of Aceh Besar. The precise location of the mosque is in Indrapuri, Aceh Besar. Masjid Tuha Indrapuri exists right in the complex of the former temple. This mosque was built on an area of 33,875 square meters using the wooden material. The construction is supported by 4 (four) main pillars (that in terms of Javanese architecture known as “Soko Guru”) with the shape of an octagonal cross section. Given the age of the mosque that is quite old, the structural reliability of the mosque structure has certainly been worn off, especially in the column and beam structure. The condition of several columns and beams is currently tilted. In this study, an assessment of the robustness of the buildings was performed using forensic engineering method. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the reliability of this old mosque so that the data related to every of its structural component can be obtained. Through this evaluation, it was expected that the strategy or treatment that needs to be planned to the building could be determined, therefore at the end, it can continuously stand as its ideal condition.

Title: The Interpretation of Meaning in Aceh Coffee Shop The gathering tradition in Acehnese people for silaturrahmi has long been established. A coffee shop is one of the artefacts from Aceh traditions or gathering culture for Acehnese people. Coffee shop is a place for social interaction and other various activities. One example of case that was taken is Solong Coffee shop located in the city of Banda Aceh. The purpose of this paper is to explore the spirit or genius loci that makes coffee shop in Aceh continue to live and thrive. By using the thinking of Norberg-Schulz, it will be studied and explored for more about image, space and character that create the genius loci in a Aceh coffee shop to attract the Acehnese people to choose the coffee shop as a place to do their various activities and social interaction. Reviewing these elements will obtain many factors that affect a place such as the meaning, identity and history of the place.

Aktivitas Great Sumatran Fault pada Pulau Sumatera telah menyajikan deretan gunungapi dan geological landscape yang dapat di kembangkan sebagai potensi geowisata, seperti di Iboih, Weh Island tersedia dengan banyak potensi wisata alam yang dapat digunakan untuk peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat secara langsung, dan dapat digunakan sebagai lesson learned terhadap bahaya hidup di lingkungan vulkanik. Manajemen informasi wisata yang masih dikelola secara conventional memberikan keterbatasan dalam wisata, seperti penguasaan bahasa asing untuk pengelolaan informasi dan promosi terhadap pengunjung mancanegara. Maka perlu adanya pengembangan sistem manajemen wisata secara digital yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi informasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam empat tahapan yaitu, survei permasalahan mitra, perencanaan, pengembangan sistem manajemen wisata dan pelatihan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah menghasilkan produk berupa sistem manajemen informasi, papan informasi destinasi wisata terintegrasi dengan QR-code dan peningkatan kemampuan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan informasi dan promosi wisata. Informasi pada QR-code ini disajikan dalam berbagai bahasa asing yang mempermudah wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Desa Iboih. Hasil pengabdian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sangat tertarik dengan penerapan manajemen wisata berbasis teknologi informasi.

The terminal as a public facility that continues to operate actively throughout the day, of course, consumes large amounts of energy every day. But unfortunately not all energy on earth can be renewed. Therefore, preventive measures are needed so that the energy on earth does not run out. The choice of the Green Architecture theme in the redesign of the Batoh bus terminal is expected to reduce the use of excess energy at the terminal. The application of the Green Architecture theme is carried out on each item in the redesign of the Batoh bus terminal, both the arrangement of the outer space, the inner space, to the selection of the right material and according to the design objectives. Some examples of the application of Green Architecture in this design are the use of glass with a secondary skin as a wall to facilitate the entry of light into the building so as to reduce the use of artificial light during the day while maintaining the temperature in the room so it is not hot Use of photovoltaics as an alternative energy source; As well as processing gray water as a source of additional water and others. From this concept, it is hoped that it can create a terminal that is more environmentally friendly so that the current energy can continue to be used in the future. Terminal sebagai fasilitas publik yang terus beroperasi secara aktif sepanjang hari tentu saja mengkonsumsi energi dalam jumlah besar setiap harinya. Namun sayangnya tidak semua energi di bumi dapat diperbarui. Maka dari itu, langkah pencegahan dibutuhkan agar energi di bumi tidak menipis. Pemilihan tema Green Architecture dalam perancangan kembali terminal bus batoh diharap dapat mengurangi penggunaan energi yang berlebih pada terminal. Penerapan Tema Green Architecture dilakukan pada setiap item dalam perancangan kembali terminal bus batoh, baik penataan ruang luar, ruang dalam, hingga pemilihan material yang tepat dan sesuai dengan tujuan perancangan. Beberapa contoh penerapan Green Architecture dalam perancangan ini ialah, penggunaan kaca low e-glass dan secondary skin sebagai dinding untuk memudahkan masuknya cahaya kedalam bangunan sehingga mengurangi penggunaan cahaya buatan pada siang hari namun tetap menjaga suhu dalam ruangan agar tidak panas; Penggunaan photovoltaic sebagai sumber energi alternatif; serta pengolahan gray water sebagai sumber air tambahan dan lainnya. Dari konsep ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan terminal yang lebih ramah lingkungan sehingga energi yang ada sekarang dapat terus dipergunakan hingga masa yang akan datang.
