Abstract

ABSTRACT Research aimed to find out the influences of organic fertilizer to cocoa growth , Investigating the effect of  micoriza MVA on the growth of cocoa and knowing the interactions between the organic fertilizer application on the growth of mycorrhizal MVA cocoa plant . The research was conducted in the form of factorial experiment which is based on a randomized block design pattern ( RAK ) . The first factor was the provision of organic matter consists of 3 levels , namely : B1 = 5 kg manure , compost fertilizer B2 = cocoa rind 5 Kg , and B3 = skin of cocoa fertilizer + compost leaves 5 Kg and fa gliricidia second factor was the provision of mycorrhizal consisting of : M0 = administration without mycorrhizae , mycorrhizal M1 = administration of 2.5 g / plant , giving mycorrhizal M2 = 5 grams / plant and mycorrhizal M3 = giving as much as 7.5 grams / plant . The results showed that , interaction between applications and mycorrhizal 5 g cocoa skin organic fertilizer ( m2b2 ) gave the best effect on the plant parameters as height and number of leaves . Then the interaction between applications and mycorrhizal 7.5 g organic fertilizer from cocoa skin and leaves gamal ( m3r3 ) gives the best effect on the parameters of leaf area index . Further treatment of the application of mycorrhizal 7.5 g ( m3 ) was given the best results against leaf area , specific leaf area and leaf dry weight of cocoa plants . But in general the provision of treatment of organic materials had not provided any real effect at the time of passage of this research . Key words : Cocoa . Micoriza , Organic Fertilizer

Abstract

IbDM/PPDM Produksi Benih Bawang Merah Berbasis Kelompok Tani di Desa Tabbinjai Kecamatan Tombolopao Kabupaten Gowa Sulawesi Selatan, berada pada ketinggian ± 1000 meter dari permukaan air laut, dengan jarak sekitar 106 km dari kota Makassar merupakan salah satu Desa sentra pengembangan tanaman sayuran. Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditaspertanian yang pernah dikembangkan secara besar-besaran di daerah tersebut, namun karena sejalan dengan waktu petani mulai meninggalkan komoditas tersebut akibat mahalnya umbi bibit yang mengakibatkan biaya produksi tinggi, dan harga jual yang terkadang rendah saat panen raya tiba, mengakibatkan petani merugi. Akibat kenyataan-kenyataan yang sering dialami petani mengakibatkan komoditas tersebut ditinggalkan untuk dikembangkan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tentang Produksi Biji Botani Sepuluh Varietas bawang merah di Kelurahan Tamaona Kecamatan Tombolopao, menunjukkan bahwa lima varietas yang ditanam didaerah tersebut mempunyai potensi menghasilkan biji botani(Idhan, A. 2016). Salah satu diantaranya adalah varietas Trisula yang dikembangkangkan dalam program PPDM.Berdasarkan fakta potensi lahan dan iklim yang dimiliki daerah tersebut maka dalam pelaksanaannya kegiatan inimemberi harapan besar yang nampak pada hasil yang dicapai saat sekarang ini yaitu ; pertumbuhan tanaman dan pembungaannya sesuai dengan harapan untuk mencapai tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu : 1) aplikasi teknologi budidaya bawang merah berbasis hasil penelitian untuk produksi biji botani; 2) kelompok tani mitra membudidayakan bawang merah dengan menggunakan biji botani sebagai bahan tanaman untuk menghasilkan umbi konsumsi sebagai produk utama; kelompok tani mitra akan menghasilkan benih bawang merah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sendiri, dan secara bersamaan menghasilkan pula umbi konsumsi. Diharapkan dimasa mendatang akan menjadi sentra penangkar benih guna memenuhi kebutuhan bahan tanaman (benih bawang merah) di Sulawesi Selatan. IbDM / PPDM Production of Onion Seeds Based on Farmer Group in Tabbinjai Village Tombolopao District, Gowa regency of South Sulawesi, located at an altitude of ± 1000 meters from the sea surface, with a distance of about 106 km from Makassar is one of the centers of vegetable plant development.Onions are one of the most widely developed agricultural commodities in the area, but as time goes by farmers start to abandon these commodities due to the high price of seeds plus high production costs, and sometimes low prices when the harvest falls, farmers lose money. Due to the facts that often experienced who abandoned commodities to be cultivated. Based on the results of research on the Production of Ten Botanical Seeds ofonion in Tamaona, Tombolopao District, showed that five varieties planted in the area have the potential to produce botanical seed (Idhan, A. 2016). One of them is Trisula variety which is developed in PPDM program.Based on the facts of land and climate potentials in the area, in the implementation of these activities, the great expectations are visible in the results achieved today; plant growth in accordance with expectations to achieve the objectives of this activity were: 1) application of onion cultivation technology based on research results for the production of botanical seeds; 2) partner farmer groups cultivate onions by using botanical seeds as plant material to produce consumption tubers as main products; partner farmer groups will produce onion seeds to meet their own bunchs, and simultaneously produce also consumption bunch. It is hoped that in the future, it will become a seed breeder center to meet the bunchs of plant material (onion seed) in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

PPUPIK Pusat Produksi Benih Bersertifikat Unismuh Makassar was established with the aim of meeting the community's need for quality seed crops according to standards and obtaining certification. This activity was inspired by the results of lecturer research at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar related to seed production and the development of appropriate technology to support seed production as well as the availability of skilled and trained human resources in carrying out seed production and other appropriate technologies. The main products of PPUPIK Pusat Produksi Benih Bersertifikat Unismuh Makassar are hybrid corn seeds and the additional products are plant seeds, planting media, compost, terrarium, hydroponic installations and hydroponic vegetables. Hybrid corn seeds are produced using crossing technology and production techniques in accordance with technical instructions for hybrid corn seed production. The main seed used is certified seed produced by Balitseral Maros. Product marketing is carried out directly at the PPUPIK Office tower building Iqra,6th Floor,Faculty of Agriculture Muhammadiyah University of Makassar and on line marketing through the website www.ppupikbenihunismuh.com Production sustainability is carried out by forming partnerships with corn farmer groups, and for marketing partnerships with breeding companies. This activity is a place of practice for students of the Faculty of Agriculture's Department of Agrotechnology and Agribusiness, generating income, and new entrepreneurs as well as developing the entrepreneurial spirit of lecturers and students.

Abstract

Siderophore is an iron-chelating agent produced by plants and microorganisms under iron deficiency conditions. One of the microorganisms that ability produce siderophore is a fungus. This study aimed to determine the potential of endophytic fungi in creating siderophore. The ability of fungi to produce siderophore, especially Salicylate and Catechol using Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) liquid media and Hathway Reagent. Eight isolates of endophytic fungi from local rice South Sulawesi have tested their ability to produce siderophore. Eight isolates of endophytic fungi before being tested were rejuvenated by growing on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium for seven days. Each isolate was grown on a PDB medium before being tested. The absorbance is measured using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 560 nm with Na. Salicylate 700 nm with 2.3 DHBA as standard. The results showed that the isolates of E4 and E8 had the capability to produce siderophores. The results provide the latest information regarding endophytic fungi' potential from local rice in South Sulawesi as a siderophore producer.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah seringnya terjadi kelangkaan pupuk, harga pupuk yang mahal, tidak adanya pendapatan tambahan dan kesulitan penanganan limbah pertanian. Petani berkeinginan memproduksi pupuk kompos dari limbah pertanian, akan tetapi tidak mengetahui teknologi pembuatan pupuk kompos. Sama halnya dengan limbah pertanian lain seperti kulit jagung. Limbah ini memiliki potensi untuk diolah menjadi produk kerajinan, akan tetapi petani khususnya kelompok wanita tani tidak memiliki keterampilan dan tidak mengetahui teknologi pengolahan limbah pertanian menjadi produk kerajinan yang bernilai ekonomi. Tujuan dari diseminasi teknologi ini adalah kelompok tani mitra mengetahui semua peralatan yang digunakan dan mampu menggunakannya dengan baik, serta memahami prosedur atau langkah kerja dari pembuatan pupuk kompos dan produk kerajinan dari limbah pertanian dengan kualitas yang baik, dan berproduksi secara berkelanjutan. Kelompok tani mitra khususnya kelompok tani perempuan mampu memproduksi bonsai kulit jagung atau bunga hias dari kulit jagung dan juga mampu menjualnya. Untuk mencapai tujuan menyelesaikan permasalahan mitra, maka dilakukan sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan terhadap mitra dengan melakukan diseminasi teknologi tepat guna pengolahan limbah pertanian menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Kegiatan diseminasi teknologi kepada masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan berjalan sangat baik berkat kerjasama tim pengabdian, pemerintah dan masyarakat sasaran. Kelompok tani mitra serta masyarakat umum berpartisipasi dan antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan diseminasi teknologi kepada masyarakat. Kelompok tani mitra dan masyarakat mampu membuat pupuk kompos serta berbagai produk kerajinan dari limbah kulit jagung.

Abstract

AbstrakStunting merupakan kondisi pertumbuhan anak yang tidak sesuai umurnya karena tidak mendapatkan asupan gizi dalam jumlah tepat dalam waktu yang lama. Kabupaten Lombok Barat merupakan salah satu daerah dengan prevalensi stunting yang tinggi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang melibatkan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Muhammadiyah Aisyiah (KKN MAS) di Kabupaten Lombok Barat ini bertujuan untuk:1) meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa sebagai sasaran antara yang strategis dalam meningkatkan partispasi masyarakat melalui sosialisasi dan edukasi pola hidup sehat; 2) melibatkan mahasiswa dalam peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam penanggulangan stunting di Kabupaten Lombok Barat; 3) mengembangakan pola pemberdayaan kolaboratif melalui pendampingan dalam transfer ipteks secara luas; 4) meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam penanggulangan stunting. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi dan edukasi pola hidup sehat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa terlibat secara langsung dalam kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi pola hidup sehta yang dilakukan secara dor to dor kepada ibu-ibu, dan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan parameter gizi seimbang kepada kader posyandu, serta “sex education” pada siswa. Kegiatan KKN MAS di Lombok Barat terlaksana sesuai dengan yang diharapakan berkat kerjasama peserta KKN MAS, masyarakat, dan pemerintah. Kata Kunci: gizi, pernikahan dini, sex education. AbstractStunting is a growth condition of children that is not appropriate for their age because they do not get the right amount of nutrition for a long time. West Lombok Regency is one of the areas with a high prevalence of stunting. The purpose of community service activities involving Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah (KKN MAS) in West Lombok Regency aims to: 1) improve student skills as strategic intermediate targets in increasing community participation through socialization and education on healthy lifestyles; 2) involving students in increasing community participation in stunting prevention in West Lombok Regency; 3) developing collaborative empowerment patterns through assistance in broad science and technology transfer; 4) increase community participation in stunting prevention. The method used in this activity is socialization and education on healthy lifestyles. The result of this activity is that students are directly involved in socialization and education activities for healthy lifestyles which are carried out door-to-door to mothers, and socialization and counseling of balanced nutrition parameters to posyandu cadres, as well as "sex education" to students. Abstract

PPUPIK Business Unit Muhammadiyah University Certified Plant Seed Production Center Makassar is a science and technology-based business unit that aims to develop campus entrepreneurship based on research results. The main product of this business unit is hybrid corn seeds, but in the process of producing corn seeds in addition to producing economically valuable corn seeds also produce corn waste which can cause problems if not handled. PPUPIK developed various waste corn compost products for the development of new business units. The production activities of various corn waste into compost products aim to make corn waste as a product of economic value and also as a place of practice for students in the application of science and technology and science-based entrepreneurial activities. The method of implementing the activity is divided into 5 stages, namely: 1) Production of various waste corn compost; 2) Analysis of nutrient content of compost; 3) Product label design; 4) Compost packaging; 5) Promotion and marketing of products. This activity involved students of the Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar in the production, label design and promotion and marketing of products. The results obtained from this activity include; 1) students have experience in compost production, label design and product promotion and marketing; 2) the formation of a new business unit in PPUPIK activities; 3) produce economic value products from waste; 4) potential to get IPR.
