Abstract

Selulosa merupakan salah satu komponen utama penyusun biomassa tumbuhan. Hidrolisis selulosa dapat dilakukan secara enzimatik dengan menggunakan enzim selulose. Cendawan merupakan salah satu mikroorganisme penghasil enzim selulose. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan cendawan endofit dari padi local dalam memproduksi enzim selulose. Isolasi cendawan endofit dilakukan pada jaringan tanaman padi local. Pemurnian isolate menggunakan media PDA hingga diperoleh isolate tunggal. Uji aktifitas cendawan endofit dalam memproduksi enzim selulosa secara kualiltatif menggunakan substrat carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Terbentuknya zona bening (halo zone) disekitar isolate cendawan endofit merupakan indicator kemampuan cendawan endofit dalam memproduksi enzim. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 8 isolat cendawan endofit dan hasil uji enzim diperoleh 7 isolat dapat memproduksi enzim selulolotik dan terdapat 2 isolat memiliki kemampuan produksi enzim terbaik. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi informasi penting dalam memanfaatkan cendawan endofit sebagai bioaktivator dalam pembuatan kompos.

Abstract

Program Pengembangan Usaha Produk Intektual Kampus (PPUPIK) Pusat Produksi Benih Tanaman Bersertifikat Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar pada masa pandemi Covid 19 tetap melakukan aktivitas, namun aktivitas dilakukan di rumah karena adanya penerapan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) di Kota Makassar.  Kegiatan promosi dan pemasaran produk PPUPIK menggunakan media cetak dan media elektronik. Jenis media cetak yang digunakan yaitu : xbanner, brosur, buku, dan koran. Media elektronik yaitu : video dan internet. Xbanner dipajang di ruang depan kantor PPUPIK dan dipajang pada stand pameran saat mengikuti pameran. Brosur dibagikan pada pengunjung selama kegiatan pameran. Buku disimpan diperpustakaan kampus dan dipajang saat pameran. Publikasi kegiatan pada koran Tribun Timur. Media elektronik berupa video telah diunggah ke YouTube dengan judul cara memproduksi benih jagung hibrida. Penjualan secara langsung selama pandemi tidak dilakukan, penjualan hanya melalui internet. Pengiriman produk menggunakan jasa angkutan on line untuk  wilayah Makassar dan sekitarnya sedangkan untuk jarak jauh menggunakan  jasa pengiriman barang seperti kantor pos. Metode Pembayaran dilakukan melalui transfer setelah barang diterima konsumen.

Abstract

The long history of agricultural credit schemes in Indonesia as the track record revealed was distinctively devided into (i) Pre-Social Development (1964), (ii) Socio-national Development and Collaboration (1965-1970), Completed Social Development (1970-1984), (iv) Farm Credit (1985-1999), (v) Food Security Credit (2000), (vi) Energy and Food Security Credit (2007), (vii) People Business Credit (2007 – up to recent time). Nevertheless, up to these days non of the agrcultural financing schemes that are consistantly specified to rice product commodity development. This research aimed at 1. Analyzing the obstacles hindering the distribution of the rice commodity agribusiness financing scheme specifically viewed from the collaborative side of financial institution and rice agribusiness farmers, 2. Compehensively analyzing the procedural system for distributing financing schemes implemented to rice agribusiness farmers mainly viewed from the aspects of (i) credit interest rate, (ii) credit limit, (iii) credit recipients, (iv) credit disbursement, (v) credit refund, (vi) credit refund time, and (vii) credit collateral 3. Designing an innovative solution model for banking specific financing reserved to rice commodity agribusiness farmers. The findings of this collaborative research were as follow: (1) obstcales hindering banking institutions from distributing fund to rice farmers were the credit allocation policy itself that is relatively centralized, whereas from the side of agribusiness doers seemed to derived from the weakness of finance administration system as well as the less of bankable collasteral values; (2) Financing schemes disbursement procedural system implemented by credit channelling agencies such as BRI, BNI, and other local banks did not meet with the needs and expectation of agribusiness doers, sophisticated, and too bureaucratic as well, (3) the innovative solution model for bank financing specified to rice commodity agribusiness resulted of this collaborative research was called Rice Agribusiness Credit Scheme (RACS) in which local government squeeze as both coordinator and coach.

Abstract

One of the efforts to accelerate the seeds' dormancy period is to use physiologically mature seeds and applicant of endophytic fungi. This study aims to determine the level of fruit maturity and the type of fungus that can accelerate germination and growth. This research was arranged with a Randomized Block Design with 2 treatments, namely the level of fruit maturity (based on the color) and the type of endophytic fungus. The maturity level of coffee cherries (coffee fruit skin color) consists of 4 levels, namely: brown, red, orange, and yellow. The second factor is the type of endophytic fungus with 2 levels, namely: isolate CE-1, isolate CE-5, and as control without endophytic fungi. The parameters observed were the percentage of germination (%), cotyledon rupture (days), fully open Institute leaves (days), the emergence of the first leaf (days), seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), weight plant fresh weight (gr), root fresh weight (gr), leaf root weight (gr), plant dry weight (gr), root dry weight (gr), leaf dry weight (gr). The results showed that the maturity level of coffee cherries significantly affected the percentage of germination, emergence of the first leaves, and plant fresh weight. The best fruit maturity level for the percentage of germination was red with 98.5% germination percentage, first leaf appearance (44 days), and plant fresh weight (0.25 g). The type of endophytic fungus isolate had a significant effect on the percentage of germination, fully open Institute leaves, and the emergence of the first leaves. The endophytic fungus CE-5 showed the best results in the percentage of germination parameters (93.06%), fully open institutional leaves (28 days), and first leaf emergence (46 days). The use of red coffee cherries with the application of endophytic fungi can be used to germinate and growth of coffee seedlings.

Abstract

One of the inhibiting factors in providing sugar palm seeds is the dormancy period of sugar palm seeds and the growth of germs that take a long time. This study aims to determine the type of isolate and the application dose of endophytic fungus isolates that can accelerate the growth of sugar palm seedlings. The study was arranged using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 treatments. The first treatment was the type of endophytic fungus isolate consisting of 3 levels: isolates C1, C2, and C3. The application dose of endophytic fungus isolate consists of 3 levels, namely: 5 g, 10 g, and 15 g. Parameters observed were shoot emergence, plant height, root length, plant fresh weight, fresh root weight, plant dry weight, and root dry weight. The results showed that endophytic fungi isolates C1 and C3 could increase the growth and biomass of sugar palm seedlings, while the best application dose of endophytic fungi was 5 g. Application of endophytic fungi isolates C1 and C3 with a quantity of 5 g increased the growth and biomass of sugar palm seedlings.

Abstract

Vernalization and Gibberellin (GA3) solution can be applied to simultaneously increased shallot production and TSS (True Shallot Seed) in the highlands. The research aimed to obtain shallot varieties that are able to naturally flower more and have high growth and production. This research was carried out in the form of split plot experimental design. The main plots consisted of five shallot varieties selected from the adaptation test, which resulted from planting in the lowlands and highlands, namely the Bima Brebes variety (V1), Manjung variety (V2), Bauji variety (V3), Bangkok Jeneponto variety (V4), Mentes variety (V5). The sub-plots consisted of 4 stratifications of vernalization temperature, namely: room temperature (F1), 4°C (F2), 8°C (F3) and 12°C (F4). The sub-sub-plots consist ed of 4 concentrations of gibberellins GA3 in aquades, namely: 0 ppm (H1), 50 ppm (H2), 75 ppm (H3), and 100 ppm (H4). Each treatment was repeated three times, so as to obtain as many as: 5 x 4 x 4 x 3 = 240 experimental plots. Results showed that shallot varieties have different responses to vernalization and gibberellin GA3 treatment. No stratum of vernalization temperature and certain GA3 concentrations were found that consistently supported certain observational parameters on the growth and production of five shallot varieties. Manjung and Bauji varieties were observed as having great potential to produce more flowers and botanical seeds in highlands. Keywords: Giberrylin, Highlands, Shallot boob, TSS, Vernalization.

Abstract

Plant media and nutrition are key faktors in plant growth, including pakchoy microgreens. This research aims to determine the effect of the type of planting media and the dose of cow urine liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of pachoy microgreens. This research was structured using a factorial Randomized Group Design (RGD). The first factor is that the planting media consists of 3 levels, namely: cocopeat (M1), husk charcoal (M2) and cocopeat + husk charcoal (M3). The second factor is the dose of liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine cinsisting of 2 levels, namely a doses of 25 ml/L (D1), 50 ml/L (D2) and a control using water (D0). The research results show that media treatment and liquid organic fertilizer had a significant effect on the fresh weight to microgreens, but had No. significant effect on germination time, emergence of cotyledons and 100% germination. The use of cocopeat media without the applicaation of liquid organic ferlitizwer gave a better response compared to the application of liquid organic fertilizer. Husk charcoal medai, mixed media of husk charcoal and cocopeat with the aplication of 25 ml/L liquid organic fertilizer gave a better response than without the application of liquid organic fertilizer. The use of cocopeat media shoud not be accompanied by the application of liquid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah kendaraan bermotor baik roda dua maupun roda empat berdampak pada semakin tinggi polusi udara di kota-kota besar. Demikian juga perkembangan yang sangat pesat terhadap penggunaan alat-alat elektronik seperti hp,computer, AC,mesin cuci, kulkas, rices cooker dan tv. Penggunaan alat-alat elektronik tersebut  ternyata menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi pengguna dan lingkungan disekitarnya karena  adanya pelepasan radikal bebas dari alat-alat eletkronik tersebut yang akan berdampak pada kesehatan tubuh manusia. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) memberikan pengetahuan kepada ibu-ibu akan manfaat lidah mertua sebagai penyegar dan penyerap  polutan di udara; (2) memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membudidayakan lidah mertua; (3) memberikan keterampilan membuat hidroponik dan terrarium lidah mertua sebagai penghias ruangan dan halaman rumah yang dapat berfungsi sebagai penyegar dan penyerap polutan. Metode  pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan Ipteks tersebut adalah ceramah/penyuluhan dan pelatihan/pembimbingan. Metode ceramah dilakukan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang manfaat lidah mertua, jenis-jenis lidah mertua, cara memperbanyak lidah mertua dan cara perawatannya, sedangkan metode pelatihan dilakukan untuk memberikan keterampilan kepada ibu-ibu dalam membuat hidroponik dan terrarium lidah mertua yang dapat digunakan untuk menghias ruangan dan sekaligus mengeyegaran serta menyerap polutan di udara terutama di dalam rumah.  Ibu-ibu sangat responsif dalam mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemanfaatan lidah mertua sebagai air freshener ruangan dan halaman rumah. Ibu-ibu sangat bersemangat mengikuti  kegiatan penyuluhan dan melakukan kegiatan praktek pembuatan hidroponik dan terrarium. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, ibu-ibu sudah memahami dengan baik manfaat lidah mertua sebagai penyegar udara dan penyerap polutan di udara dan sudah menerapkannya di rumah.Kata kunci : lidah mertua,hidroponik, air freshener, polutan

Abstract

Program Pengembangan Usaha Produk Intelektual Kampus (PPUPIK) Pusat Produksi Benih Bersertifikat Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar melaksanakan kegiatan produksi dan pemasaran benih jagung hibrida, biji botani bawang merah, dan kompos. Kegiatan Private Training Corel Video Studio merupakan salah satu kegiatan penunjang yang dilaksanakan oleh Tim Pelaksana PPUPIK untuk meningkatkan kemampuan IT karyawan PPUPIK dalam membuat multimedia. Multimedia merupakan integrasi beberapa media seperti audio, video, grafik, teks, animasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh tim pelaksana, karyawan dan mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan PPUPIK. Kegiatan private training dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu: 1) ceramah; 2) pelatihan (workshop); dan 3) Konsultasi dan bimbingan online. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini telah memberikan pengetahuan dasar tentang lembar kerja pada program Corel Video Studio serta cara menggunakannya, peserta dapat mengedit video serta menyimpan dan membagikan video yang telah diedit melalui You Tube. Kata kunci: animasi, audio, grafik, konsultasi, teks.

Abstract

ABSTRAKJagung merupakan komoditas kedua setelah padi dengan daya adaptasi yang cukup luas sehingga dapat ditanam di lahan lahan kering, sawah tadah hujan dan sawah irigasi. Kegiatan produksi benih jagung sebagai salah satu upaya untuk mendukung peningkatan produksi jagung dapat dilakukan di sawah tadah hujan. Budidaya jagung untuk produksi benih di sawah tadah hujan dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan sistem tanam tanpa olah tanah. Kegiatan produksi benih jagung hibrida dengan sistem tanam tanpa olah tanah (TOT) bertujuan untuk: mempercepat waktu tanam jagung setelah panen padi sehingga sisa air tanah dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pertumbuhan tanaman jagung dan mengurangi biaya pengolahan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi: 1) persiapan benih induk; 2) Persiapan lahan; 3) Penanaman;  4) Pemeliharaan tanaman;                5) Roguing;  6) Detaselling; 7) Pengecekan black layer ; 8) Panen dan pasca panen. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa Penerapan sistem tanam tanpa olah tanah (TOT) dalam memproduksi benih jagung hibrida pada sawah tadah hujan dapat meningkatkan indeks pertanaman dari IP 100 menjadi IP 200, mempercepat waktu tanam serta dapat memanfaatkan sisa air tanah sehingga mengurangi biaya pengolahan lahan.Kata kunci: Black layer, detaselling, metalaxyl, roguing. ABSTRACTCorn is the second commodity after rice with sufficient adaptability so that it can be planted in dry land, rainfed and irrigated fields. Corn seed production activities as an effort to support increased corn production can be done in rainfed rice fields. Corn cultivation for seed production in rainfed rice fields can be done by implementing a no tillage planting system. Hybrid corn seed production activities with a no tillage planting system (TOT) aim to: speed up the time of planting corn after the rice harvest so that the remaining ground water can be utilized for the growth of corn plants and reduce processing costs. The method of implementation includes: 1) preparation of the parent seed; 2) Land preparation; 3) Planting; 4) Plant maintenance; 5) Roguing; 6) Detasseling; 7) Black layer checking; 8) Harvest and post-harvest. The results of this activity show that the adoption of a no tillage planting system in producing hybrid corn seeds in rainfed rice fields can increase the cropping index from IP 100 to IP 200, speed up planting time and be able to utilize the residual ground water thereby reducing land management costs.Keywords: Black layer, detaselling, metalaxyl, roguing.
