Abstract

Surakarta City is designated as National Activity Center (PKN) on the National Spatial Plan (RTRWN) in the development of the creative economy sector. The determination is reinforced by Bekraf Developer Day 2017 and the Economic Census of the Central Bureau of Statistics which shows that Surakarta has more than 1250 creative workers. 65.75% of them have no place to work, so they do their work at home and or cafe. Problems that arise are how to design facilities and comfortable workspace so that the creative workers can make presentations and discussions with colleagues without being disturbed by the noise of other cafe visitors, or by family activities at home. In order to connect between start-up and creative workers, and to create a comfortable workspace to improve productivity and creativity of its users, is required collaborative working space (office) for creative industry workers and start-up in Surakarta City. The design of collaborative working space is done by collecting primary and secondary data through interviews, observation, precedent study, book literature study, local regulations, articles, and news. The data sets are then analyzed and synthesized to produce the concept of the space character criteria and the concept of the shape and appearance of the space which is then transformed into a collaborative working space design that supports the productivity and creativity of its users in Surakarta.

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, population growth in Yogyakarta has increased massively every year. The increased number of residents that occur, resulted in the need of house, and also the green fields will used as a residential land. Increased population definitely increase the level of food needs, but in contrast to productive land that should become a food barn of the population. Increased population will begin to shift the social side in humans because the places of interaction between individuals that should be the main forum of society to interact and socialize will be loss. Responding to this, the design application of Ecological Architecture needed, which raises a harmony between the building, human and natural environment. The research method is descriptive qualitative which begins by collecting data related to the integration of vertical living and vertical farming, literature review related to kampong vertical living theory, vertical farming system: hydroponic, and Ecological Architecture theory, then processed and concluded to be a guidance in analysis designing. From the analysis that has been done then generated an integrated design of kampong vertical living & urban vertical farming that can support sustainability design based on the application of Ecological Architecture theory.

Abstract

The increasing of urban development responds to various problems that occur. The existence of the city's problems requires cities and communities in it to solve the problem, coupled with global challenges related to how the city is able to compete both national and international scale. Progress in the development of city manifested through innovations in the life of the city which is then often referred to as Smart City. The concept of Smart City is also needed in the tourism aspect or commonly called Smart Tourism. The development of tourism continues to grow and has been synergized with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) including in Surakarta City that trying to apply the concept of Smart Tourism, such as the launch of Solo Destination application and the cooperation of government and Telecommunication Company to realize smart tourism. But its application is still not perfect yet, especially if viewed from facility and service system. This is seen in the availability of Information and Communication Technology in support of tourism activities are minimal. The problem is also seen in the inadequate service quality in all components of tourism. This paper determine the readiness of Surakarta City in realizing the tourism smart in terms of facilities and service system based on four components (1) tourism actors, (2) attractions, (3) transportation and (4) tourism supporting facilities. The approach is using deductive, while the analysis method is quantitative using the scoring analysis from the results of field observation and data review. The result shown that the city of Surakarta is ready in applying the concept of smart tourism, although the attraction component is less ready that cause the attraction has not been able to play a major component of tourism that is able to attract many tourist visitors. Other components such as tourism actors, transportation and tourism supporting facilities already indicate ready.

Abstract

The existence of dependency between residential service center with service area then resulted in the slice of service range from some service center adjacent. Urban Gemolong as a residential service center with six sub-districts as its service area (Gemolong, Miri, Sumberlawang, Plupuh, Kalijambe, Tanon), does not yet have a complete settlement service as well as the location of the big city (Solo, Porwodari, Boyolali) There is a tendency for the service area to not meet the needs of its services in urban Gemolong. The problem formulation in this research is how effectiveness of urban Gemolong as settlement service center in Sragen regency? The purpose of the study is the effectiveness of urban Gemolong as a settlement service center in Sragen regency. Research method in this research is deductive, with kind of quantitative research. Analytical techniques in this study is scoring analysis for suitability on each variable, and for assessment of its effectiveness by percentage approach. The conclusion obtained in this study is the effectiveness of urban Gemolong as a settlement service center in Sragen regency in the form of effective approach. Approaching effectively means that urban Gemolong as a settlement service center is in a near-successful position (approaching effectively) in fulfilling its role as a settlement service center in terms of goals, efficiency or affordability. Called approaching to succeed because of the three vaiabel approaches, there is an approach that states that viewed from the side of goals, urban Gemolong has been appropriate (effective from the side of the goal). From the approach of affordability and efficiency that is how the community to reach the service and how the availability of the number of facilities when compared with the population is still not appropriate (not yet effective). Urban Gemolong needs to improve the existing resettlement service especially from efficiency and affordability approach in order to fulfill its function and role as residential service center, in several ways that is the addition of the number of settlement service facilities, shifting and arranging the layout of the facilities so that the needs of facilities availability and affordability of the facilities are met

Abstract

There have been architectural standards for many types of buildings such as the ones for hospitals, hotels, and shopping malls. Those standards were developed with an assumption that we live free from contagious diseases like Covid-19. The world situation in the last decade has shown that new contagious diseases are on the rise, bringing people’s lives at risk. It is then very urgent to review the existing architectural standards to fit our new needs. This paper then focuses on a review on architectural standard, which in this case is traditional market to propose a new standard. To do that we review the existing standard and the existing literature on Covid-19, before developing a proposal for a new standard for traditional market in Indonesia. The proposal shows a revision in the layout, room size, internal and external circulation, the use of materials, lighting, and ventilation.
