Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the classroom conditions for student learning activities. This was quantitative and qualitative research, conducted on 40 subjects, using the questionnaire as an instrument. The results identified five conditions, including (1) The learning strategy practiced, as lecturers tend to use various offline methods in the classroom, which need to be upgraded to online-based models. (2) The condition of course material utility, which was assessed to already be good, although improvement is also necessary, through the use of various models, including Facebook online live study. (3) The state of the facilities also needs to be improved in terms of air conditioners and internet signals with fast network access capacity, in order to ensure proper online-based learning. (4) Lecturer competency; The analysis results of this section have an impact on knowledge, in relation to online learning, therefore properly increasing Internet technology literacy. (5) Student characteristics, which are explained already, characterized by online learning with good knowledge of social media.

Abstract

Smoking is a bad habit that can have a negative impact on health, both for smokers and other individuals who are around them or passive smokers. This study aims to explore the relationship between the level of empathy possessed by smokers and the intensity of smoking behavior carried out in public places. The subjects in this study were 349 students in Makassar City. This study uses a quantitative approach, which is carried out by collecting responses from participants using research instruments in the form of smoking behavior questionnaires and empathy scales. Research data from respondents were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results of the analysis of the data collected showed a correlation coefficient value of -0.232 and a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). These results indicate that there is a significant relationship between empathy and the intensity of smoking behavior in public places in students in Makassar. The higher the empathy possessed by students, the lower the intensity of students to smoke in public places.

Abstract

In pronunciation class, students encountered problems in pronouncing specific words. The problems students faced are mostly found in practicing and drilling segmental and suprasegmental words. This research intended to find out difficulties that students experienced in studying pronunciation and their perspectives as to how the methodology of teaching this subject can improve their English articulation in English as a Foreign Language Classroom. This research employed descriptive qualitative analysis. The subjects of the research were 90 students and two (2) English teachers(lecturers).The researcher used observation, questionnaires, and interviews as data collection tools in adition to the students' specific test findings of segmental and suprasegmental aspects in a text. The results of this study demonstrated student’s perspective and better approach for teaching and mastering pronunciation Abstrak Di kelas pronunciation, mahasiswa sering mengalami masalah dalam mengucapkan kata-kata tertentu. Permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa sebagian besar pada latihan dan mengulang-ulang kata segmental dan suprasegmental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam mempelajari pengucapan atau artikulasi dan perspektif mereka mengenai bagaimana metodologi pengajaran mata pelajaran ini dapat meningkatkan artikulasi bahasa Inggris mereka di Kelas Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 90 siswa dan dua (2) orang Guru Bahasa Inggris (dosen). Peneliti menggunakan observasi, angket, dan wawancara sebagai alat pengumpulan data selain temuan tes khusus siswa pada aspek segmental dan supra segmental dalam suatu teks. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pandangan mahasiswa serta pendekatan yang lebih efektif untuk mengajar dan menguasai pengucapan.

Abstract

The study aimed to discover the extent of the influence of Head Start on the Science and Communication Program on communication ability applied to kindergarten students at TK. Bawakaraeng in Makassar by employing the HSSC module, which passed the process of validation by the experts. The study employed an intervention that focused on the active role of parents and teachers in the learning process. Moreover, the material used was a science project method aimed at motivating students to be more active in the learning process. The approach and type of the study employed experiment research with one group pretest-posttest model where pretest was conducted before the intervention was given and posttest after the intervention was given. The subjects of the study were 15 students based on the set criteria. Data were collected through direct observation and evaluated the communication ability based on the communication scale, which was validated beforehand. The communication ability scale was formulated based on indicators: the ability to memorize, comprehension and information, ability to connect, ability to conduct simple analysis, and ability to assess. Data were analyzed by employing Wilcoxon analysis, used in a study using a non-parametric approach. The study's result revealed significant changes in the communication ability of kindergarten students of TK. Bawakaraeng indicated by the result of Wilcoxon analysis by -3.411. The score was appropriate with the convention of the result of data analysis which was greater than 0.5 (α > 0.5). Based on the indicators, the result also showed significant changes indicated by significant improvement between the scores before and after the intervention. The study concluded that the HSSC program's utilization in the project method learning process could improve the students' communication ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah efektivitas teknik sosiodrama dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa di Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Manongkoki. Kepercayaan diri merupakan modal dasar yang penting bagi seseorang untuk mengaktualisasikan diri, yang pada pasangannya dapat mengembangkan bakat, minat, dan potensi diri. Penelitian ini melibatkan 40 siswa kelas XI sebagai populasi, dengan sampel sebanyak 20 siswa yang dipilih secara acak menggunakan metode random sampling. Sampel tersebut dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen, menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji t-test independen untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa kelompok eksperimen yang awalnya rendah, meningkat signifikan setelah diberikan perlakuan berupa teknik sosiodrama. Sebaliknya, kelompok kontrol yang tidak menerima perlakuan tidak menunjukkan perubahan dalam tingkat kepercayaan diri. Pertunjukan teknik sosiodrama meliputi tahap latihan, akting, dan berbagi, dengan partisipasi dan keaktifan siswa yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, teknik sosiodrama terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa di MA Manongkoki.

Abstract

Teachers at vocational high schools (SMK) in Gowa Regency are professional educators who serve as role models for students and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of human resources through education. This quantitative study aims to examine the influence of a hedonistic lifestyle and self-control on consumptive behavior among teachers at public vocational high schools in Gowa Regency. A total of 172 teachers participated in the study. Data were collected using three scales: a hedonistic lifestyle scale, a self-control scale, and a consumptive behavior scale. The results indicate a positive and significant influence of a hedonistic lifestyle on consumptive behavior (r = 0.485, p = 0.000), a negative and significant influence of self-control on consumptive behavior (r = -0.516, p = 0.000), and a combined positive and significant influence of both variables on consumptive behavior (r = 0.815, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that while a hedonistic lifestyle tends to increase consumptive behavior, higher self-control can reduce it. Therefore, both variables significantly contribute to shaping the consumptive behavior of vocational high school teachers in Gowa Regency

Abstract

Objective this article explains the psychology of Islamic-based soft skills in tackling violent behavior towards the development of community mental health quality. Violent behavior tends to increase late this requires serious efforts to mitigate them, not only because of adverse abusers, but also carries the risk of harm and harm to others, and society in general. One alternative is to develop soft skills countermeasures based isalami psychology. Soft skills are personal excellence someone associated with the non­technical things, including the ability to communicate, socialize, and self-control. Soft skills strong influence on one's success and strengthen personalformation are balanced in terms of hard skills, oft skills-based Islamic psychology meaningful self-development oriented image of man in Islam. Conceptually, soft skills has a positive effect in the development of community mental health. Empirically, the results showed that the soft skills that include self-control and emotional maturity, self-concept, interpersonal communication, and social skills, in an effort to raise our influence violent behavior.Keywords: Violent, soft skills, mental healt.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determine: 1) the description of students' psychological well-being, 2) the interest in learning among students in the class, 3) whether psychological well-being affects students' learning motivation, 4) whether interest in learning affects students' learning motivation, and 5) whether psychological well-being and interest in learning together affect students' learning motivation. The method used in this research is quantitative. The analysis employs statistical and econometric methods. The results of the research indicate that 1) the description of students' psychological well-being is high, 2) the description of students' interest in learning is at a moderate percentage based on the analysis conducted, and the indicator of enjoyable lessons is a highly desired indicator by students while learning, 3) partially, psychological well-being affects learning motivation, 4) partially, interest in learning affects students' learning motivation, 5) the coefficient of determination (R2) shows a positive relationship between psychological well-being (X1) and interest in learning (X2) on students' learning motivation.
